you should really be able to turn that off/choose an outcome before you start a game. i've always had the same outcome as you but it could fuck your game right up if you get one of the worst brexits as say, a lower league club. really short sighted, poorly implemented feature imo.

Going into my first game in the Conference away to Braintree and they had an old but still quality Nuno Gomez up front it showed the difference in class already. We scraped a 0-0 but it could be a long season especially as I'll be relying on a 34 year old Sam Parkin for goals.

won the russian super cup vs the Champion Dinamo Moskva 2:1

pretty well Run in europe. won my Europa League Group with 6 out of 6 and 20:2 goals. vs Fiorentina 6:0 and 4:1

first knock out vs Salzburg.

Bad Start to the league 8-5-4 including defeats vs Nalchik and Metalurg Donetsk, both managed only to win 2 and 3 games in the first phase (42 games). were destroyed by shaktjar Donetsk (0:6) but a good run of wins (18 from 21) brought me on top of the league by three points.

44 further games to go.

Will face Anzi makchakala in the QF of the cup. Top Match as they are second in the league.

Holidayed for a year to see who'd come up to the NLN/S. When I saw Rushall Olympic had been promoted to the NLN I had to, considering they're only down the road from me!

Forgot how hard it is starting this low, had to change tactic, for some reason considering we're underdogs in almost every game, an attacking 4-2-4 has been my most effective formation.

Halfway through the season now, signed 30 players, 6 on loan (one sent back), let 14 go (some of whom were the original 30, it didn't work out, they whined for first team football, went on free transfers or were released as they were on non-contract terms), I've done alright so far as obviously the expectation is to go back down, not even survival. I told them mid-table for a few more quid in the wage budget and may even just make that.

Currently sat 14th with 34 points from 27 games (W9 D7 L11 -2GD) so we're on course for the more realistic aim of survival. My crowning moments came in the FA Cup:

2nd Qualifying round: Grantham Town 0-0 Rushall Olympic
2nd Qualifying round replay: Rushall Olympic 4-2 Grantham Town
3rd Qualifying round: Rushall Olympic 1-0 Telford
4th Qualifying round: Rushall Olympic 3-0 Salford
1st Round: Torquay 0-1 Rushall Olympic
2nd Round: Rushall Olympic 0-0 Rotherham United
2nd Round replay: Rotherham United 1-2 Rushall Olympic
3rd Round: Watford 5-2 Rushall Olympic

That's set up the bank nicely.

Went out of the FA Trophy 3rd qualifying round replay after a 1-1 draw with Tamworth at home and a 3-1 loss away playing the reserves as Rotherham were up next, as you can see, that paid off.

In for a decent season, should easily stay up at this point as we're 7 points clear of 20th placed Alfreton with a game in hand.

Obviously the aim is to get to the top, but we'll see.

started a new save

unemployed as always but with international player status

took the job at Toronto FC they were 5th in the Eastern conference with 6 games to go, ended up losing the MLS cup to Portland but what a run I had them on

don't usually do an MLS save but I like the differences in transfer policy etc, heading into the draft now, see if I can get a decent prospect managed to trade Philadelphia for 4th overall pick so should get a Generation Adidas player

End of my fourth season at Drogheda, which apart from a really poor run of form in the middle of the league season, was hugely successful.

Fourth in the league (1 point off second), won both the League Cup and Senior Challenge Cup (FA Cup in Ireland) and made it to the third quali round of the Europa League, going out 3-2 on aggregate to Dnipro. League Cup final finished 6-5 after 90 minutes, probably the craziest game i've ever had on FM.

After starting with no experience/qualifications, I will shortly have a Continental Pro license and will probably move away from Ireland. Other than going for the league win, there is not a lot else I can do, hitting the ceiling. Board won't go professional which makes it even harder for me to sign players to strengthen. Will probably go to another obscure, but higher quality league (Greece, Russia and Portugal all tempting currently). So far i've only had job offers from mid-table Championship clubs in Huddersfield, Aston Villa and Reading.

half way into my 2nd season, complete overhaul of staff and 3 or 4 new players

drafted a 21 year old Generation Adidas ST from the superdraft, been developing him and giving him the last 30 mins in a game etc, he started scoring in them sub appearances, so I played him from the start in 6 games, he scored 4 goals, he's developing fast

thinking of losing Jozy Altidore (designated contract) to free up space and get a decent trade because this kid is good enough

I am actually incapable of taking a team up from the Championship and avoiding anything other than an absolute pummeling in the Premier League. My current game started at Villa, took them up in 2nd in my first season, with a rock solid defence being the main component of that team. I lasted 10 games in the Premier League, with 2 points to show for it. I went to Stoke, who'd been relegated to the Championship in the first season, and joined them around Christmas in 15th. Remit was to challenge for the play-offs, but with the squad they had they really should've up around the top 2 - Bojan, Shaqiri, Arnautovic, Imbula, Allen, Berahino all still at the club. Ended up finishing 3rd but lost in the play-off final (2-1 last minute to West Brom).

At this point I decided to sell off as much of that squad as I could. Despite being a class team, they were all high wages and also high value. I raised around £70 million by selling off Shaqiri, Berahino, Arnautovic, Muniesa and several others. Decided to invest in younger players, and signed up Batshuayi (£6.5m), Patrick Roberts (Loan), Jordan Amavi (£9m), Cameron Borthwick-Jackson (Loan), Stuart Armstrong (Free) and Sam Byram (Loan). Despite the squad being of (apparent) lower quality, we started like a train, and a run of 21 wins in 22 games in all competitions between September and the turn of the year set the platform for the title charge. Managed to get the the League Cup final beating 4 Premier League sides along the way, lost 1-0 to Man United (Did beat Spurs over two legs on away goals though!) and eventually just about had enough to get over the line as Champions despite strong opposition from Ipswich.

Over the summer, I stuck with most of the same squad which had got me up, although I added Leroy Sane (£15.75m), Theo Walcott (Free) and Harry Winks (£8m) to bolster things, along with renewing the loan deals. Spent most of my cash buying the stadium and investing in coaches and training facilities.

Currently 2 games into the new season, a 2-0 defeat at Southampton and another 1-0 loss to Man United. Not worrying too much at the moment, plenty of time left for this squad to prove itself!

Current 11:

Butland
Byram - Holgate - Wollscheid - Amavi
Imbula - Allen
Roberts - Bojan - Sane
Batshuayi

Borthwick-Jackson, Walcott, Abraham, Winks, Munir (GK), Bangoura, Hayden

Keep feeling like I want another centre back but I also want to keep faith with those who've served me well.

Started a save as Eastleigh. Wanted to make the most out of Sam Muggleton's 20 Long Throw attribute so made the pitch as narrow as possible. Play long ball with a bunch of tall, strong players and it seems to work well and I am scoring a shedload from set pieces. First season won the Play Offs against Lincoln- now 20 games into the 2nd season and sitting 7th in L2.

New save as Newcastle. Plan is to build a British side with no more than 3 foreign stars to complement them by the start of the 3rd season. First season went well...

Planning to sell Gayle, Anita and either Mbemba or Perez in the summer to meet m requirements. Will probably go back to my Gateshead save after winning the league as I still haven't conquered Europe with them.

First time I've played FM in about 5 years and got FM17 last night. Started a save with York and going to take some time to get in to it I think. Im trying to reduce the wage bill quite a bit and half of the squad are on the transfer list and not even one offer.
Any tips on how to recieve offers? I've reduced the transfer asking price right down and still no offers.

Played 3, won 2, drawn 1.

Scenes at Wembley this afternoon, without my best player and top scorer who's on loan from Man City.

EDIT - Didn't realise that got us into Europe next season. I was planning on leaving at the end of the current one, but might have to re-think that.

I got into the PO's not long after the above, and the annoyingly, the day after the final game of the season my top scorer went away on international duty and missed the PO's, which I lost, and they weren't even playing a game.

I wish they'd sort that out, where you can delay players going away.

sometimes it seems the FM is cheating.

were league runners-up last season and met in the thrid round of the russian cup the reserve team (!!!) of an second division team at home which has lost 8 of the last ten matches in the third division

22-2 shots on goal.

now guess the score?

1-2. the winner came in the additional time.

Started with Lincoln on FM18. In short:

Season 1 - Slow start, good middle, poor end and finished 10th. Not aided by trying to tweak my tactic mid-season. Scored lots, conceded lots.

Season 2 - Slow start, average middle, brilliant end (won 14 of my final 15 games). Finished 3rd - going into the final game, top 3 were on 87 points and GD's pretty much the same. Best attack, 5th best defence.

Season 3 - Currently 9th in L1 in January with what is effectively my L2 squad. Only 2 points off automatics. Best attack, worse than average defence.

Can't quite tighten it up at the back enough. Tried using a DM instead of a BWM in CM and that's not done it. Put FB's on Defensive and that's not made too much difference either.

I'm using my FM17 tactic so just having to tweak it a little as I go along but it's serving me ok at the minute so I'm reluctant to change too much and have it affect my goal scoring.

How's everyone getting on? I started a new game just so I could tweak around with tactics without impacting my Lincoln save, and fucked if I can get a decent defence.

Looked on FM Scout and there was, apparently, a good defensive tactic on there but it doesn't work for me either.

I went with a different kind of save this year and started in the Bundesliga, rather than starting with no badges or rep at the very bottom. I'm managing Hertha Berlin and currently in my second season i'm 3rd in the league but Dortmund & Bayern are ridiculously strong.

Season 1 I went out of the cup early, out of Europa League in the first knockout to Lyon and finished 5th in the league.

Season 2 I am into the cup semi final to face Dortmund, went out of the Europa League in the groups which was disappointing but currently doing well in the league.

We've got some really good young players so the team is going to get stronger if we can keep them but i've had to promise a couple of them that we'll qualify for UCL this year, hopefully we can keep up our current form.
