We changed things up a bit today, system wise, and it worked a treat. A rare Christmas win for us, at Southport as well where we’re usually rubbish.

Really happy with that. Absolute rocket from Roberts to seal it as well.

I haven't been to a match since we played BPA for various reasons. I haven't been well lately and decided to miss Haig Avenue for the first time since the 60s. Our only 2 wins in the past 3 months were 3-0 v Alfreton and a real struggle to beat BPA 2-1. People generally have been saying that Glendon slows things down. I don't think Gary Stopforth has played much either. Stopforth started and Glendon was given a more forward role. What a difference that made. I hadn't bothered to check the result until 9.30 yesterday and couldn't believe what I saw. Best Christmas result and boost for about 10 years.

Glendon played on the left where Dudley has usually been this season. He can't slow things down there as he's expected to push on. Allowed Taylor to get forward as well.

Stopforth is key though, massive having him back in the heart of the midfield.

Well, you know your club has became irrelevant when King's Lynn get a bigger crowd.

Jesus.

If only Spendy travelled in reasonable numbers, we might have just scraped home.

Waltzed into the Spenny defense today and produced the goods. I'd like to see him to do this more often.

Yes it was a great goal. In fact he had a great game all round. Confidence breeds confidence, let' hope he can keep it going.

3-0 win for Leamington on Boxing Day. Talk of yet another Leamington striker moving on to a football league club!

Followed up our best display of the season with our worst. Especially disappointing as York City lost. Bollox.

Today was us not even having the decency to wave a white flag, and instead waving dirty Y- fronts on the end of a stick. At least the loss to Chester came with the dignity of being outplayed by a better side, whereas this was shameful.

You competed well for first 20 mins without any real threat, after that you were dire and outplayed completely. Zero creativity, zero ideas, zero threat, did our keeper even make one save? Typical Watson stuff really, I feel for you having to watch that. Your keeper did well though and looks decent. Are you still fulltime ish ?

Reverted to evening training earlier this season. Things appear to be being massively scaled back, including effort levels.

Alfreton 2-2 Kings Lynn

Well. No idea where that came from. We went back to basics and what had been so successful at the start of the season and went toe to toe with the best team in the league and were unfortunate not to take all three points!

Great to see us play as a team and put some effort in off the ball.
Plenty of postives to take in to 2020 as we finally arrested the losing run. But we MUST take this in to NYD against Telford otherwise it means very little.

Id say it again Kings Lynn are going to walk this league

We struggle to break teams down when they come to our place and sit back. Did have the chances but a poor effort all round from us today.

Fair play to Curzon, they thoroughly deserved that win. Their goal was the first chance in the game they had but grew in confidence after that as we threw bodies forward.

Yes his confidence is definitely growing, he put in another good shift against Blyth helping Reid to open his account for us.

No surprises with today's result at Blyth. We comfortably took all three points back home.
Had a few hairy moments with Blyth's few opportunities.

Elliott was outstanding in goal, now getting better with each game with the fan's giving him all their support. He absolutely thrived on it.

Hatfield is a machine! I hope clubs aren't watching him in his current form, pure quality.

We weren't exactly at the top of our game today, but overall we were pretty comfortable under pressure as Blyth kept plugging away to get back into the game. Defense was pretty solid with Elliott's safe hands.

Next stop The Pride of County Durham. The question is how far can we go in this rich vein of form?

Brackley 2 - 0 Kidderminster. Kiddy the best team I've seen this year - outplayed us totally in the first half, when we were poor - although it was a more even second half. Brackley keeper made 5 or 6 decent saves (when at home he rarely touches the ball) & Kiddy hit the bar. Result a travesty. Hope we won't play them again this season.

Kiddy should be title contenders based on that performance - maybe they were at their best, and we were poor? Hope however this is testament to a better toughness from Brackley - spent the past 2 years complaining we are not ruthless and don't win close games - so a rare as hen's teeth undeserved win for us today has a certain satisfaction.

League's closing up - excellent first half of the season by King's Lynn, but surely due a wobble? Has someone invested money in them?

This game for me was a free hit, we never beat you away so I just wanted a good performance. Was a strange feeling leaving the ground cos I wasn't overly disappointed, the players should be proud of the performance.

Even though we lost I'm not sure how poor finishing let us down but we're looking like we're back to our best under Shan. Plenty of positives from today and if we keep playing like that we'll fly up the league.

Congrats on the win, Danny Lewis is still an insane keeper and still one of if not the best in the division.

Onto Hereford where I fully expect 3 points.

Bit late but went as a neutral last minute to Altrincham 3-0 Southport on Saturday as I was up in Manchester. I'm a huge fan of Parky (could potentially see him getting involved with our setup in a few years) and he's very well regarded as a coach in both Crewe and Nantwich. So it was fitting to see ex Crewe winger John Johnston have a fantastic second half MOTM performance with a well taken goal from a tight angle for his first and a decent finish for his second that he deserved for his all round play. Really enjoyed the intensity Alty played at and, if it wasn't for the Southport keeper producing some class saves, it would've been a lot more.

I can see why we sometimes loan our players to Alty because the brand of football for that level is absolutely excellent. If they stick with Parky, I reckon in the next 2 or 3 years he'll take Alty up again. The man just knows how to use his resources wisely and sticks to a philosophy unlike other managers at lower league and non league levels.

Bloody hell a rare double v Southport and 7-1 at that. Never managed a single goal against them last season in 4 mid season fixtures.

Not surprised, they were very poor at our place on saturday too.

We had a much harder task today as Curzon parked the bus, frustrated the hell out of everyone. nicked one from a corner, the ref was awful sent off one of our players for the cleanest tackle you could see, got the whole ball and never touched their lad. So to come back and win was pleasing but it got tense at the end.

Alfreton 1-1 AFC Telford

God we are bloody awful.

Battled to a hard earned point today. Waste of money Ben Tomlinson with a very rare goal.

Huge six pointer at Curzon on Saturday. Need a win really from somewhere

Absolutely pathetic from us today (and for the third match running). Started ok against Chester, but they broke the deadlock after Albinson flapped at a corner, and after that we were never in the game and Chester deservedly destroyed us for the second time in a week.

No points from the Christmas period for us, one goal scored with ten conceded, and our fragile confidence shattered. Our next two matches are home to York then away to AFC Fylde, so it's unlikely our flat track bully side will get back on track soon.

this on a link,85th minute assault they went straight down pitch and scored winner, but then again they got away it all game.

Ten points from the last four games so I'm not complaining.

We seem to have learned now how to win against the bullying type of teams that were turning us over not too long ago (not York). Away at Farsley today was closer to rugby than football but the lads found a way to win.
