The whole idea of franchise cricket is abhorrent, as a Kent supporter, who am i supposed to cheer for?

Makes no difference if you're from Cheshire either way - I refuse to support Lancashire as I'm simply not from there. Albeit in junior cricket, you played for Cheshire and from there the best few were cherry picked for Lancashire, so we would appear to be a feeder county for them.

I'm from Cheshire so I support Lancashire - they are the team of the North-West. As you say, it's not much different for the Hundred but the fact they are called Manchester will annoy a lot of people.

Being a Tranmere fan possibly gives you a minority complex (well, it does in my case!) as, football wise, anyone from the Wirral who supports either of the Liverpool teams is a tunnel rat. Cricketing loyalties pretty much went the same way, especially with Manchester thrown into the mix! Re the hundred, it's a money spinner and will probably go far in terms of getting people along to watch and taking an interest in cricket, but did they really need it as well as the blast?

Alistair Cook suggests a shortened CC isn't really a viable option. In which case have the Blast and the 50 over and bin that god awful Hundred abortion.

Absolutely.

I love the proper game and to a lesser extent ODIs and T20, but the 100 is an aberration and not needed. I will completely ignore it and I hope cricket lovers all over will do the same.

This Surrey/Kent thing would be akin to me sleeping with Daisy from This Country

The West Indies Series won't be on and probably not Pakistan either.

I think the Hundred will take priority over everything else. The ECB need that to be a success.
And for that reason it won't take place this summer. Empty stadiums with no overseas players, the damage to the competition's already low reputation would be too much to repair. It'll be put back to next year when they can do it properly and give it the best chance of success.

Not that I'm arsed as I'd love it to flop! They can scaremonger all the likes but at the end of the day the counties will survive. A Premier League style T20 Blast with an eight county div one and ten county division two should be the route to go down long term. Finals Day should consist of a playoff semi final, with the winners playing the league leaders in the grand final later in the day, with a relegation playoff the match in-between.

Nice to see the England teams donating 500k to the NHS.

Good work boys and girls.

I think that declaration has come 4 or 5 overs too late.

England win by 113 runs thankfully.

Stokes leading the way and Broad/Curran taking their chances to shine.

I think we'll comfortably win the last Test to take the Wisden Trophy back (weather permitting).

Been a great partnership between Pope and Buttler. That said I really don’t understand the West Indies thinking in having two spinners in the lineup and then choosing to bowl first. Strange decision from Holder to say the least.

Watching Sibley and Burns trying to be proactive and score quick runs is painful

I think right now Stuart Broad is probably bowling about as well as he ever has. Fantastic performance, unless it rains for two days now then England should seal the win.

Excellent win for England. Broad getting his 500th and Woakes bowled beautifully to get a 5 for also.

West Indies can take a fair amount of credit especially their bowling. Not a smart decision to bowl first here must be said. If they can learn to bat they could be a formidable team going forward.

I'm from Cheshire and a Lancashire fan, but will completely ignore the Hundred.

Well we got over the line - great run chase and partnership by Woakes/Buttler .

Funny as Woakes might have not played had Stokes been fully fit and Buttler is under pressure.

Only England 2nd's drawn test in 29 tests so this week was very rare!

Wasn't there one against the Aussies last year ?
