I agree, but if most chairmen get their way that won't happen. It's surely going to be a choice between Barrow or nobody?
itll have to be someone from the conference.

League 1 will return to 24 teams when 4 go up and that will leave league 2 with 23 teams. League 2 is obviously more important than the conference and will return to 24 teams as will the conference do the same downwards.

It would make sense for the conference like the FL to finish the season if at all possible, but if not then it would be narrow to come up, surely

I've seen a suggestion that Barrow and Harrogate should play off for that last EFL place. If that's the case, then I suggest the match starts with our respective goal differences, 29-17 to us...

It quite clearly should be judged on away Tuesday night matches no with rain. I'm sure Barrow were ace at those from memory. It was something like that anyway.

No they shouldn’t. They’re not in the position that Liverpool or Brora are in.
Yeah they are. They're top of the league and based on PPG would win the league, just like Liverpool would.

The season won't be finished, not at this level so that is the best way to settle it.

The PL might finish because of the financial implications of not and the broadcasters/sponsors fall out but that's it.

Not that I agree with that, i'd happily see it all go to shit in the PL and it pull the plug on the financial blackhole the PL is. People might wake up then.

Barrow aren't 25 points clear of 2nd place like Liverpool though, in fact they were going through a spotty patch of form when everything went to shit, to hand them the title on a PPG basis with 27 points still to play for with Harrogate and Notts chasing them down would be madness.

Also, why should Harrogate be promoted when finishing 2nd does not result in automatic promotion from this league?

They're going to promote Notts County aren't they? They would've had a reprieve from relegation if Bury's expulsion was confirmed earlier.

I like your thinking but no, they won't give it to us.
Don't think Barrow would win the league though. It doesn't matter now but Barrow without Quigley for the next three games were well capable of blowing up. They collapsed without him against us.

No chance.
Correct - Notts County's record away at teams near the bottom of the league this season is shockingly bad - and they still had to go to Wrexham and Chorley - that's at least 4 points dropped there for a start.

We were down to 10 men after he went off against you - and we'd signed a Welsh U-21 International striker from Blackburn to cover his absence.

IF the league did get re-started the league would have to play the matches in the order they were scheduled originally and that would include Notts and Harrogate having to play each other 3 times in just over a week including the FA Trophy - as removing the Trophy games from the schedule would/could affect the season outcome.

Well, you would be wouldn't you.:dis:

despite people saying Barrow were slipping up if we had played the match against Wrexham and won we would have had 1.92 PPG - exactly the same as we had on the 1st January.

I think it was likely that Barrow were going to go on and win the league, but not to the extent that you can give them the title without playing the remaining games.

Harrogate have played the same games as Barrow.... not 1 less....
Harrogate also faced a 2 legged FA Trophy semi-final against Notts and hence more fixture congestion than Barrow.

Give it Barrow. Notts fans are playing the mind games. Never forgive them for what their disgusting stewards did the year we beat them with 2 goals from Ryan Lowe in 2009.

I think it’s very likely that Barrow will get promoted, given there’s an odd number of teams in the EFL.

Doesn’t make it right though, and not sure I’d want to go up under those circumstances. Hopefully we‘ll be celebrating it on the pitch this time next year.

i would think the league won't want fewer teams in our league & there's only 22 in the north/south so no-one can come up

Oh Mary, come and listen to this! Give over, same as everyone else, you'd take it under ANY circumstances (and maybe give a little pretend show of feeling bad about it). :fl:
