Athletic Article: League One and Two Seasons to be abandoned next week

Vanni, am I right in thinking I hear Cambridge fans sing a combination of both 'black and amber army' and 'yellows/yellow army'? It's something I've always found odd unless my hearing is off, as usually clubs tend to (weirdly) get a bit touchy about stuff like that.

Our blue and white stripes were because we took some kit from Huddersfield, I think.

    Coronavirus and League 2

Our online shop remained open for orders throughout, just with the caveat that it may take longer to process them as, presumably, there isn't somebody working through them full-time.

Athletic Article: League One and Two Seasons to be abandoned next week

Surely their logic is entirely flawed, and Macclesfield's points would only then be deducted AFTER having already calculated a PPG total for them? At the bottom of League Two, Macclesfield have already had 11 points deducted for breaching EFL regulations, with a further two suspended to the end...

Athletic Article: League One and Two Seasons to be abandoned next week

Someone's suggestion on our forum... Decide all games across the PL and FL on penalties. I'm serious, hear me out. Thousands of football matches across the planet for decades have been decided by penalties, it isn't ideal, but this isn't new. You'd only need the 5 takers and a keeper to turn...

Athletic Article: League One and Two Seasons to be abandoned next week

Yes, in the grand scheme of things it is completely irrelevant. Fast forward another ten years or so and I'm sure we'd still be in either the third or fourth tier playing the likes of Tranmere, Crewe and Swindon regardless of who has shifted about a few times in the meantime.

This is a weighted league table from what I can gather, including Macclesfield's deductions afterwards; Swindon Town 88 Crewe Alexandra 85 Plymouth Argyle 84 Cheltenham Town 82 ------------------ Exeter City 81 Colchester United 72 Northampton Town 72 Port Vale 71 Bradford City 68 Salford City...

    EFL Proposing Salary Caps

Maybe parachute payments should be scrapped in exchange for some sort of regulation that insists on mandatory relegation clauses in contracts, freeing up those funds to be spread more fairly.

After Coronavirus - What next for league football? (poll)

Finishing one place and one point outside the play-offs seems pretty accurate to me!

After Coronavirus - What next for league football? (poll)

Yes, we're still Category Two and I think, like Trinidad says, our training facilities go some way to helping attract players who are released from the London academies in their mid-teens. We have generally held on to players too, with quite a few going on to make well over 100 appearances for...

After Coronavirus - What next for league football? (poll)

It's up to clubs to rework their budgets for next season to account for the shortfall. Use the advanced money to cover as many holes now and then cut their cloth more accordingly next season knowing there is less due to come in.

    Coronavirus and League 2

I'm sure the figures worked out at circa £284,000 per League Two club. Considering most of us have effectively lost income from roughly four league games, that's £71,000 per game. Beyond that, well we wouldn't have had gate receipts until late July anyway so I don't think the shortfall ought to...

    Coronavirus and League 2

I've been working from home as a sole trader for the best part of a decade now, and I can never switch off - there's always something you feel like you could be doing. It's tough at the moment with my partner off work downstairs though, she usually goes out to a coffee shop or something when she...

From what I've read and heard, anybody can walk into pretty much any Asda, Sainsburys, Co-Op, Aldi etc at the moment, ask for the manager and get a temporary job - they're all hiring.
