Haven't Kahn won this task and we've come second? I'm confused about the scoring.

Oh yeah. Got the groups mixed up thinking it was the penguins in your two but in my defence it was the middle of the night!

Gretzky might need to get the money out to motivate the other teams as a top two finish sees Kahn take the competition next week.

Hopefully within an hour or two we'll get going.

The final consists of a few different tasks which will be familiar from earlier weeks. All will be posted together and the first team to send me all the answers correctly will win. It is up to you as to whether you split the tasks up or go at them all together. You can submit as many times as you like and I will let you know if you have 100% or not. Most of the time you will know if you're right or wrong, though.

You will be ranked in order of reaching 100% first. Clearly my response times will vary depending on my availability but you must wait until I've got back to you before submitting another set of answers (i.e. you can't send 10 sets in together and hope 1 is correct).

Hope this makes sense.

Everything will be posted up at 8.45pm.

Some are tricky but clearly you have days to get it all done. I imagine the workload will mean that two teams will dominate but there's nothing I can do about that.

When you submit your answers in full, I will let you know how many are wrong from each game but not specifically which ones.

There will be a crossword with clues denoting 1FF members.
There will be four images of cities that have hosted the Eurovision song contest since 2005.
There will be four Only Connect grids which need to be sorted into four different categories (no reasoning required for the purposes of this).

So if you send me in your answers I can say: you have 2 cities wrong and 2 grids wrong but will not say which. The crossword I imagine you will either know it's right or wrong but the same will apply there.

Oh and the crossword has the breakdown of words...clearly with usernames this is a bit difficult as some have spaces and some don't...I have separated words even if in their username they do not. So for example, MagpieBee would be (6, 3) rather than (9).

Because I've done it already, if you give a full set of answers for an individual task (i.e. crossword, grids or pics) then I'll tell you how many are right rather than wait until the complete set of answers are in.

Worked out my error on the crossword. 9 across should be 4, 8, 4.

Is the sporting challenge taking place this weekend? If so, is anyone going to be finished in time?

We're all done and dusted, basically. 1 team didn't bother and 3 have finished so the order has been done.

As it's the last week, there will be a number of different sporting events included this weekend and it will cover Saturday and Sunday. Teams can choose where they take their picks from, though. Will post up the options soon.

Was quite impressed with teams this week. As you'd expect, Gretzky and Kahn were on it with multiple members and Gretzky were 1/100 shots to finish first after starting like lightning but as bedtime took its toll, Kahn got stronger and ended up finishing first in a good time after a few hours. Gretzky polished up the next day and Kournikova just finished now. Tyson aren't too far away and won't post up the answers as you already know them and in case they want to finish it.

The order was fairly inevitable (well the first two in whichever order) as the number of people contributing was a lot more for them. Was a very good effort from the other two teams, especially Tyson 'cos Lee has done very well on his own to be fair

1st - Team Kahn
2nd - Team Gretzky
3rd - Team Kournikova
4th - Team Tyson
5th - Team Owens

These finishing positions provide a greater number of scenario picks over the weekend. These scenarios and their point rewards will be posted up at some point this evening.

Didn't expect much else really but enjoyed trying to crack these puzzles.

Can somebody put me out of my misery though. I got all of the crossword apart from "Flies Diagonally" which was driving me mad.

Didn't bother with the flags as my Geography is shocking but for Only Connect, I had the following:

Only Connect - final grid 1
Depp, Bloom, Knightley, Rush - Surnames of Pirates of the Carribean cast
Hit, Wish, Black, Reading - lists

Only Connect final grid 2
Ferris, Steering, Cart, Pin - Wheel
Needle, Horus, Storm, Tiger - Eye of the ..........
Leicester, Trafalgar, Red, Dorchester - Square
Old, Teen, Middle, Plastic - Age

Only Connect final grid 3
Paul McCartney, Valkyrie, Jet, Pegasus - Wings
Tree, Salad, Bat, Fly - Fruit

Only Connect final grid 4
Bullock, Hershey, Berry, Hunter - Surnames of actresses
Lime, Cocktail, Mile, Iron - Stone
Mercury, Nickel, Lead, Tart - Queen??????

There may be 1/2 wrong there and there was a few I've left out as I couldn't determine a link. Would appreciate the right answers as these have been bugging me.

Flies Diagonally was 'Raven Bish' (i.e. a bird...bishop moves diagonally in chess). It was probably one of the hardest clues to be fair.

Grid 1 had Craven (Raven again getting you!), Clark, Cowl and Crook which all are birds with a C in front. Also (which I think was the hardest set in all of the grids) was Citric, Cheater, Break and Clobber which are anagrams of jobs (Critic, Teacher, Baker, Cobbler).

A few people weren't sure about Plastic Age but it does seem to be a thing (I didn't make the grid) and fly and bat were interchangeable with wings/fruit.

I'd have never have got them to be fair. I was trying to link the words as opposed to thinking about anagrams and such. Trying to work out how cowl (a hooded garment) linked in with everything was driving me nuts haha.

Group 4 I got slightly wrong. I actually had the bar link but thought Hershey had to be the 4th actress. Didn't even consider Sally Field.

Enjoyable games though Magic. Good for the brain.

Euro 2016 Qualifying Play-off

Bosnia-Herzegovina (2 points) v Ireland (4 points) or Draw (3 points)

OR pick a player...you will receive 2 points for every goal scored by that player.

OR choose a correct scoreline...these points will be available upon request (I'm at work tonight so give me a bit of response time).

Saturday

12.40
1.15
1.50
2.25
3.00
3.35

You will score points for winning horses only. You are essentially putting 1 point on the horse at its starting odds. If you pick a winner at 8/1, you will receive 9 points...7/2 then you win 4.5 points etc.

Sunday
Formula One - Brazilian Grand Prix

To win the grand prix

Lewis Hamilton (1.75 points)
Nico Rosberg (2.75 points)
Sebastian Vettel (8 points)
Valtteri Bottas (35 points)
Kimi Raikonnen (35 points)
Felipe Massa (40 points)
Others available upon request

To podium

Sebastian Vettel (1.75 points)
Valtteri Bottas (4.5 points)
Felipe Massa (4.5 points)
Kimi Raikonnen (6 points)
Daniel Ricciardo (7 points)
Daniil Kyvat (8 points)
Others available upon request

(I'm aware there is inconsistency between these and to win but that's how the odds look...)

To qualify on pole position, win the race and post the fastest lap

Lewis Hamilton (5 points)
Nico Rosberg (6.5 points)
Others available upon request

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here are what the teams have to spend:

Team Kahn: £15
Team Gretzky: £12
Team Kournikova: £9
Team Tyson: £7
Team Owens: £5

You ARE allowed to use more than 1 point on a scenario should you wish. This is essentially fictional cash so if you want to go all in on something then feel free but that is your risk to take...it didn't go well for Gretzky last week :hesk:. You just multiply the points by the amount of money invested. £3 spent on a goalscorer will receive 6 points for every goal scored, for example).

You must have submitted your full list of spending by 7.45pm tomorrow night. You are probably best off waiting until tomorrow to do any horse racing picks as the runners will become more set in stone then.

Good luck and any questions/requests for points give me a shout :2thumb:
