The BBC aren’t renowned for accuracy of information and they’ve called our performance as woeful so far, I suppose they had to get something right
They were right you were woeful, but equally we were very good, should have had a couple more goals

Peterborough’s 3 & 11 are the worst cheats i’ve Seen for years. They’re only playing Dover

Well the 2nd one is Marcus Maddison so not a surprise.

We really should have won by more at Walsall but a win none the less.

The Chichester fans never stopped singing today, could even hear them from my car 1/2 a mile away after the game had finished.
I thought Tranmere started the game like they had just got out of bed. There certainly didn’t look 102 league places between the sides
first half with Chichester edging it. I think there were more than a few worried Rovers fans thinking an upset maybe on the cards at half time.
Chichester fans and players a real credit to the 8th tier of English football!

I enjoyed the celebrations of the Chichester fans at the end, but did not understand why they felt the need to sing abusive 'Scouser' songs to us for much of the game. Very strange given the friendly welcome they received.

Chichester worked hard to close us down and win second balls in the first half, but once they tired around the sixty minute mark, class told and we took them apart.

They spent far more of the game singing about us being Northerns bastards, about their low option of Birkenhead, about us not singing, about various players, stewards, match officials etc being mastubators and of course that old Southern verse about them playing our benefits then they did actually supporting their team. Hardly credible behavior was it? Anyway we did a job on their (??) team on the pitch and off we go to Vicarage Road in January.

Couldn’t hear what they were singing from the kop.
Your right it’s hardly credible.

As for Watford, we couldn’t have drawn a more unglamorous Premier league team away from home. If it’s a Saturday game I’ll probably make the effort and go though.

We will take a big following and it should be a good day out.

If they rest players, you would think we would have a chance of forcing a replay. However, I noticed that their second string beat Coventry 3-0 earlier in the season......

Well on current form not sure we have a first team worthy of the name!

Most have been undeforming - might give you a good chance of getting something.

Doubt the crowd will be more than 6/7k.

Ran rings around Ipswich first half today.
A lot tighter in the second, especially in the conditions.

That's 3 wins and 2 draws against Ipswich in the last 10 days of so.

If you listen carefully, Ipswich fans are still singing about how 'Coventry are homeless everywhere they go'.

Rochdale hardly laid a glove on Newcastle this half.

Still only 1-0 though.

Who said VAR was shite? If it wasn’t for var today we’d be coming home a beaten team.
Tranmere fans great today, stuck by the team even when 3-0 down.
Its rare moments like this which make it worthwhile trudging around the country watching Merseyside’s least fashionable team.

Well played Tranmere .

Fully deserved in the end.

Excellent support and never gave up.

Probably win the replay as we play on the Sunday before and at 12.30 on the Saturday after so won't play anyone decent.

Your number 6 probably hasn't had an easier game all season.

Jennings was very good too and up front you really caused us trouble 2nd half.

It was looking dodgy at halftime for us at 1-0 down to Hartlepool who deservedly led. We necessarily improved a lot in the 2nd half but Hartlepool helped us by dropping so deep that at times we had 2/3s of the pitch to ourselves. Clinical play meant we won 4-1 in the end with Shandon Baptiste's goal being a bit special. Good following from Hartlepool.

Knew at 1-0 we were still gonna lose that, major gulf in class between the two teams by the sounds of things, the fans have been the only bright spark for us since dropping into non league, 779 there today, fair play to them all, best of luck in round 4.

What a game, makes all the uninspiring away defeats at Dog & Duck United in the conference worth it! Dragged a couple of bluenoses down with me, plus my usual co-belligerent. They presumably think all our away games are that good, as they both now want to come to Southend(!)

Did any of you guys go?

From what I hear via the stewards and roadies that help at games they were pleased to actually have a well behaved set of fans who turned up fairly early and were out to enjoy themselves - even before the game!

Something some more profile set of fans could learn from including those across the Mersey from you!

Hope it wasn't too cramped for you and I know the facilities aren't that great in that stand....

It was great, and every Watford fan I met before and after the game was a credit to your club too. A really friendly bunch. Join us for a drink in the fan tent behind the main stand for the replay, it's home and away friendly and serves proper beer.

Your stewards were great, something many other clubs could learn from. The coffee bar/deli under the stand did make me chuckle until I realised that it was in the half that was usually the home end. Our ground sells ale and (not very good) burgers!

Yet again we have managed to 'blow it ' at the 3rd round stage. Thats not to say Pompey are bad, they are well set up, Harness was a real handful and sure they will be challenging for the play offs. Its just that we had home advantage ( like last year at this stage ) and failed to take advantage. We were well off the pace, shocking defending for both goals, and worse than anything makes a massive hole in our budget !!
Wish Pompey all the best and hope you draw a big name in the next round -it hurts.....

It was interesting to see the changes to the ground since my first visit thirty years ago. I think you still had the dog track round the pitch back then and we had to walk through some allotments to get to the away end ! A lot has happened at both clubs since then.

Yes - the Elton John Stand was only built in 2015.

Had a 3 sided stadium for a while!

Would have looked really "tin pot" had we got promoted with it.

Allotments are still there I think but the away fans switched ends in the late 90s and there are flats wrapped around the big home end now.

Graham Taylor stand was built in the 80s with the 2 end stands coming in after we sold the likes of Paul Furlong and Bruce Dyer in in the mid 90s.

There are plans to increase the capacity but not sure that is such a great idea if we went down we probably wouldn't fill it as much as we aren't a massively supported club and crowds could drop.

14k was pretty good for the game I thought helped by you bringing 2,700 which was excellent and maybe our recent run bringing a few more fans out.

Shows ambition and they'd probably work on the idea we'd stay up or be promoted again I guess but a few clubs have done up their ground then gone down and not really filled it.

Prenton Park looks like a pretty tidy ground tbf!

Now there's a name from the past. Paul furlong. Was at Birmingham for years I recall and his ears looked like they had been pinned back.

Sold him to Chelsea for 2.5 million which was a lot to get in those days and even for Chelsea to pay out!

Very good goal scorer over 2 seasons in a very average lower end Division 2/Championship side.

Usually ended up scoring against us for another team - like Birmingham!

My first ever game was a 0-0 draw v Tranmere on New Year's Day 1992 - probably the only reason I remember it.

There was probably less than half the attendance from yesterday that day!
