Bit like Brighton giving their manager a 4/5 year contract too!

Mind you can I really talk with our record.

We gave the last one a 2 year one and sacked him after 3 months!

We got lucky today Vs Southend. Thankfully Simon Eastwood kept us in it and then Matty Taylor did what Matty Taylor does.

Three lovely points against Gillingham, our first double this season. They must be really fed up with us as we have such a good record against them. Always good to wind Fatty McFraud up. I gather that Barry Fuller was an absolute gentleman as always - boy do I miss him.

We have serious issues. Season over.

The decision to give Lambert a new 5 year deal at the turn of the year seemed risky at the time; now it just looks downright mental.

He’s such a miserable bastard as well - which is fine when things are going well, but when things aren’t going so well, and you’re incapable of building any real sense of kinship with the fanbase, then that ups the pressure on the manager.

A good win yesterday against Wycombe who basically fell over at any hint of a breeze but unfortunately we had another incompetent ref.

Made enough chances to win 3 games but poor finishing from us and in the end we were lucky to get the point with Iverson making a great save.

Ladapo missed a sitter and from then on we snatched at everything and wasted great wing play with crap crosses.

Being at the top is taking its toll, every team raises there effort levels.

Obviously we would like a draw in today's tv game but I'd rather Coventry win it as it keeps Sunderland 4 points behind and Coventry will have the pressure for a change.

A performance very much typical of recent games. Early goal and then defended well as a unit.

I'm amazed that Sunderland have now taken the hoofball title from Wycombe. Classic Parkinson.

He's basically king of the soundbites, but our form since November has highlighted how overused and repetitive they are.

We're lucky we started so well (despite not playing great) through till October; as our form since then would have seen us in a relegation battle; 4 wins in the last 24 games. (give or take; on phone and cba to confirm it).

Similar reports from December time resurfacing regarding the possibility of Warnock coming in until the end of the season.

He's good friends with Marcus Evans but I just don't see it happening considering Lambert is contracted until 2025 NYD. There are rumours of performance clauses having been inserted into the contract extension but it's hard to imagine these being actionable until at least the summer.

You certainly have to wood on us at our place.
Ex-Gills O'Neill, Reilly and Pigott, all good to see them doing well.

But Wagstaff is something else. Did naff all at ours for 2 seasons barring keep the physio table warm. Then always gives it large like hes a decent player or something. Does he always need winding up to play well? Otherwise you'd be doing a lot better than you are.

Turned out to be a very good weekend for us. I didn't think we'd hold onto third place after beating Rochdale on Friday night yet results went for us and we find ourselves 3 points off Rotherham with a game in hand.

Need to get Arsenal out of the way before a massive game at Posh on Saturday.

What are the chances of this season being cancelled due to the coronavirus?

well harrumph, it's bad enough we were 7 points clear in 1st at one stage and are now tumbling down the table, but losing the prestigious hoofball title as well? Frankly not on. AINSWORTH OUT

Is that a bit of wishful thinking I detect? :bg:

Nope, if we don't go up this season due to the season being cancelled, then when next season comes our squad will be further weakened as Evans will sell some of our better players due to the parachute payments from the Championship running out.

What parachute payments?

When relegated from the Championship, in the first year of League One, clubs get 11.1% of the Basic Award payment to Championship clubs; that is no longer available in the second year and beyond.
I wasn’t aware of that however it isn’t a significant amount compared to the Prem payments

Can any of the Ipswich fans on here help me get a ticket for the game Saturday . We've only been given 1750 which went really quickly and Ipswich have said they are not issuing any more away tickets. I don't mind what part of the ground except maybe your hardcore end as me in my skyblue top may not go down too well.
Any help I'd really be grateful

We're going to have up to 6 international call-ups for our game, so I wouldn't be making any plans if I were you, AFCW fans!

I won't be surprised if our game Vs Pompey gets called off due to international call ups at their end. Hope not mind.

It was one Lincoln fans earmarked ages ago as an international postponement, even before the January window. Lincoln is still a lovely day out even without the footy!

You need 3 and we have 6 so if they get called up you're buggered.
We had 2 in the earlier in the season so didn’t get called off.
