Ballon D'Or nominees

They've been announced.

The biggest joke is no Alexis Sanchez. He was one of my picks for one of the best players of the year and he gets nothing. Yet Arturo Vidal who should never be on any Ballon D'Or list has been included. Higuain there is also baffling. He did break the Serie A record but overall all he really did was finish his chances. No N'Golo Kante either. He was so influential in Leicesters successes. Aubemeyang has nothing to do on the list either. Good player but I wouldn't go that far.

To me, the best player this year was Gareth Bale. Although no doubt Cristiano Ronaldo will win it.

Wrongly or rightly it's based on honours won also. I'd guess he was included as he won the CL and Euros last year and will be the basis on why Ronaldo will inevitably win it even with a slow/poor start to 16/17.
