Another big game coming up for Wellens, though if recent sightings at Boundary Park are to be believed, it seems he knows he's got the gig already - I certainly hope so.

Had a few players come off at the end limping after Blackburn spent the last 20 minutes trying to boot us off the park, and Gardner is probably the biggest worry at the moment.

We have to try and carry on the momentum we have built under Wellens, winning our last 4 games, and as he said himself I think this is probably the hardest game of the season on paper.

Placide
Dummigan - Clarke - Bryan - Hunt
Fane
Gardner - Byrne - Nepumaceno
Doyle - Davies
I'll gladly take a point tbh.

Bradford 1-1 Latics (Doyle)

Interestingly, Tuesday is our 13th game, and we'll have played the entire current top 11.

Should be lots of points up for grabs in November and December if we're still playing well.

Expect us to bounce back as always, but this won’t be easy against a resurgent Oldham side.

I expect changes, but not sure what to expect. We miss McMahon on set-pieces - that was evidently very clear against Bury.

I thought Hendrie did okay going forward, but question marks over his defensive capabilities, and I’m not sure if Thompson can play RB - if so, it might be worthwhile trying him there?

GK: Colin Doyle

RB: Luke Hendrie
CB: Nat Knight-Percival
CB: Matt Killgallon
LB: Adam Chicksen

RCM: Romain Vincelot
DCM: Jake Reeves
LCM: Nicky Law

RW: Alex Gilliead
CF: Charlie Wyke
LW: Paul Taylor

2-0

Think our win % is 54% over that time as well. Our fans are starting to get cocky on Tuesday night games though, as they are with the recent winning streak and it's going to come to an end at some point.

We've had 2 Tuesday night games at home this season and lost them both

When was the last time we won on a Tuesday night? Think I'll just watch this one on iFollow, as my meh towards this season continues. We are dreadful on Tuesday night and reading this forum the last couple of days you'd think Oldham were world beaters.

4-0 to us.

Also I thought Hendrie was diabolical on Saturday, said the same to my mate in the short time he was on against MK Dons and he could see what I was on about on Saturday. Some obviously saw it differently as he was up for social media MoM, it really puzzled me especially after the stick Chicksen has got from some for 10x better performances. Is it due to his Dad? Probably. I hope Thompson is available, I'd give him a go.

Special mention to Nicky Law who once again after a decent performance against MK Dons was disgraceful, like Hanson in his last 18 months regardless of how bad he plays he seems un-drop able unless poor Nicky needs a rest that is then regardless of how well his replacement does he's straight back in the side.

McCall needs to learn how to take a few more risks with his subs, the first 30 mins after half time were wasted with every man and his dog calling for a sub. I'd have brought Taylor and Jones on at half time tbh, as Poleon and Law were terrible maybe it would have worked maybe not but sitting on his hands doing nothing certainly wasn't going to work.

I think the last league game we won on a Tuesday night was 1-0 v Northampton on 22/11/16.

We've not won in the 5 league games on Tuesdays since (Fleetwood away, MK home, Charlton away last season - plus Oxford away and Fleetwood home this season).

iFollow it is then. Remember that Northampton game, it was shit as well like most league games on a Tuesday night. Marshall looked like he'd ballooned a cross over the Bradford End before it looped down onto Hansons head. Good times.

I wouldn’t say he’s dreadful, just wasteful.

Taking a look at Oldham’s forum, and the general concensus seems to point towards an away win. Never known a bunch of fans so confident of 3 points.

We shall see.

Wouldn't say we are over confident in an away win. I'd say we have a lot of faith in the current set up and the way we are playing.

There is always the possibility we can still play well and lose. Must admit I've predicted a 2-1win on there but predicting a win isn't the same as being over confident of one. I'd take a draw tbh. I've gone as much off Bradford results as I have our form

Take the confidence thing with a pinch of salt.

Supporting Oldham over the last 10 years, we have rarely been able to have any confidence at all. I#'m sure you can appreciate a little giddiness amongst our fanbase after seeing us rack up consecutive league wins over Posh, Pompey & Blackburn.

Believe me, 99.9% of us would take a draw tomorrow.

I'd be happy with minimum 4 points from Bradford away, Milton Keynes away, Scunthorpe at home. Difficult set of fixtures.

Course we now have Bury at home before Scunny, which I really want us to win.

Can't see us losing to Oldham but then again I said the same on Saturday and look how that turned out.
I've missed a boat load of games recently (including tomorrow as well) with how the fixtures have fallen so can't comment on how individuals have been playing but generally we've bounced back well after the games in which we've massively underperformed so far this season, given the above though I'll predict a score draw tomorrow night.

Looks like my attendance estimation may be too ambitious. Only received 500 in the initial allocation - which have all gone - and we have been given another 200 this PM which I imagine will be gone tomorrow, but s its POTD I can't see us getting a further one. And as £25 on the day (wow) I think it may put some last minuters off.

Can’t see Oldham doing anything other than putting 10 men behind the ball and hitting us on the break despite the good form. To be honest it’s probably the best way to play against us. They can actually score this year as well. We will definitely concede, depends if the attack decides to show up.

Whilst we will likely score, we will more than likely concede. Polar opposite to last season for us.

There's no way Wellens will set us up to play with 10 men behind the ball though, that's for sure. We have had 47 shots in our 3 games under Wellens and the majority of the ball in those games too. That's not to say that if you play to your full potential you may well force us into doing that as the game progresses though.

We’ll see, if you don’t set up that way it will be a decent game.

It’s a mental thing. Most teams come to VP and set up that way even when they have quality players and can play good football. I can count on one hand the teams who have tried to ‘play good football’ at ours over past few seasons. Only team who I’ve seen try it this season is Rotherham and they ended up losing the game, although they were poor in the final third.

Whereas Fleetwood defended for most of the second half and scored three goals on the break and got the biggest win for an away side at ours in years.

Definitely won't set out to defend. Not the way we have played the last 4 games. If we didn't do it at Portsmouth we won't do it at Bradford. As someone else has said though that may change as the game progresses.

TBF, I wouldn't compare Pompey to Bradford. Bradford have probably had the highest possession count over the last 18 months in this division whereas Pompey haven't exactly set the division alight since they were promoted.

Only been to Bradford for this cracker of a game:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/26796279

Seem to remember we had plenty of attacking threat that day.

Another memorable game was this one, in which the in-form Richie Wellens was carrying an injury, played anyway, got 3 top drawer assists, then went off after 34 minutes, job done!
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_2/4796172.stm

I think our decent record at VP contributes to our fans' belief we can get something tomorrow. Of course football doesn't really work like that.

I didn't read his original comment as though they were in form and teams feared getting beat. I read it as though away teams were daunted by playing at vp because it's vp. Pompey and Bradford are no bigger than each other imo

Jesus wept, I don’t really give a fuck if teams are daunted or not, it’s what most of them do, come to defend and nick a goal. The atmosphere will be dead tomorrow and will be surprised if there’s actually more than 15k in the ground despite what the official attendance says so why would any team be daunted.

Totally calm. Some oppo fans have got this perception that all City fans think we are massive and coming to VP scares their team. It’s cringey and tinpot. We are just a normal L1 side and most City fans know it.

Not one person in this thread had suggested that. Wind it in.
