The only two realistic options are to finish the season whenever that may be possible or to void it completely. You can’t give teams titles, promotions or relegations based on where they are now.

Correct. Handing out titles and promotions based on an odd number of games would be bollocks.

If we’re not finishing it, promotion should be based on something proper, like how old your club is, or when you last played in the league.

I can't help thinking you wouldn't be saying if you supported Barrow.

Maybe, but I'd be more than slightly miffed if my team got relegated on a PPG basis, Fylde love em or hate them had just started to pick up and were closing in on the teams above, it's just not a fair system to use for everyone.

You've got to finish the season whatever the way. If it means resuming in June or July for 6 weeks, bash it all out, have a pre season, condense the leagues into regional or play each other once for next season, so be it.

Just a hunch but I can see the NL being cancelled and the FL and Prem resuming.

i think Ebbsfleet would be miffed too. Look at their form over the last few matches compared to Maidenhead, yet Maidenhead would stay up on a PPG basis.

You can't decide anything on PPG it's a load of shite. I'd rather see the season cancelled than have owt decided on that.

Isn't it obvious what needs to be done here? It's quite simply the perfect time to invoke the Natural Order™.

Re-rank the entirety of the top 4 professional leagues so we end up with 92 Proper Clubs in the promised land. It would still result in a strong Conference National with teams like Woking, Chester, Halifax etc. bidding for election and a maiden crack at League football.

The fairest and most sensible way to resolve the problems in all divisions, not just this one.

We've got enough time to sort it, that's for sure.

I know the leagues below are placing pressure on the National League to make a decision on how they want to proceed moving forward with respect to the current season, but unfortunately with it being a pyramid the determination of what the league does rests with what the EFL and ultimately PL decide to do. If the latter two aim to complete the season as has been stated then promotion/relegation would have to apply in the National League as an absolute minimum to ensure consistency.

If the latter two void the season then everybody in non-league will understandably follow suit. Not going to lie, that would be gutting for us having been top since August and having the best PPG in Step 2.

Wrexham, Cardiff, Swansea and Newport (and Chester) would be in the L.O.W then....

Even though PPG would see us promoted, it's so stupid. You could have a league with six abysmal teams in it (the sort where you're guaranteed three points), and first place has played and beaten all of them, but second place still has them all to play.

There was even some argument that League 1 was unfair because Bolton was a team of 16-year-olds for the first few games of the season and then were given permission to sign up a whole new squad. Hardly a level playing field.

If the clubs need an answer ASAP, void the season altogether. I'd rather they sat on it until they know how long coronavirus is sticking around, but it could be six weeks, six months or a couple of years.

Amen to that. Christ that Barrow fan is more bothered about us going down than Barrow going into the football league. What a clown

got nothing against Fylde - even though the owners a bit odd - but if we don't at least keep some banter up we'll all go mad - or madder than we all are already

Life is unfair. When we're grown up, we learn to deal with it, chuck. :ds:

You'll be in this league again next season. You are on a good run, but as they say in Catchphrase not good enough.

Scrounging c***.

Barrow deserve to get promoted, there's no way the National League should fuck them over by allowing Stevenage to stay in the Football League. Need to be tough on it.

Although its an absolute mess, how do you determine who comes up from the North at the moment? Kings Lynn or York?

There's no reason NL teams can't just get games done BCD IMO to get it all resolved.

The Daily Star is reporting that the National League has voted to void the current season but relegate and promote the bottom and top 2. If true, A totally stupid decision IMO.

Fylde are two points behind Maidenhead with a game in hand, they surely can’t do that? Without mentioning Notts and Yeovil at the top.

I still maintain that the only two realistic options are completely voiding the season and finishing it whenever it becomes a possibility. Whatever decision should be made with the EFL either way or it’s just going to cause complete chaos.

Don't get yourself down. It means Barnet will stay up, against all the odds.

I don't understand the desperation to resolve all this now. The step 5 and 6 teams started this all off yesterday and their panicking has set off an irrational chain reaction. A bit like the panic buyers in the supermarkets.

Everyone just calm down and wait for the Premier League and EFL please.

I agree. Why the rush?
