They weren't exactly rock solid at the back in Brazil either. I'm sure Hummels will make a difference, but they looked somewhat rattled at times against a powderpuff Ukraine attack. What will they be like against the better teams?
Ukraine have some quality players. Konoplyanka and Yarmolenko are quite good and will cause most defences problems. A better attack the the Poles imo.

I was on about when they reach the later stages of the competition. They will breeze through this group.

I noticed that one stat popped up during the match by the BBC, that Germany had only lost once in the last 19 matches when in the lead at half-time; and the team that beat them, of course ENGERLAND!!!! If Portugal had done that it wouldn't have popped up. Desperate.

Germany team is fruit of a lot of planning and very well structured and this could be seen today: big accuracy on the plays and passes, good individual standings (even Schweinsteiger with few time did it), great organization and team mesh came from an equally great basis. Ukraine did not bad but could've risked more.

As expected, Germany were superior but I thought Ukraine did well first half, showing they aren't pushovers, but we knew that already.

I think Ukraine will get to the second round. Their match against Poland should decide 2nd and 3rd place. 4 points should be enough to get through.
Germany will win that group at a canter.

Quite enjoyed that match last night, Ukraine put a good fight up but ran out of steam 2nd half. The Germans were good but on another night against a better side would have been punished, they'll have to improve as they get deeper into the competition. Actually could possibly see Ukraine getting out of this group, I think they'll be too much for Northern Ireland in the next game.

I think if we were watching England instead of Germany last night we'd all be saying we have no chance of winning the tournament defending like that.

Germany were very good second half (Kroos is magic) but still haven't seen a stand out side.
