Doyle signed. Announcement tomorrow.

Strangely reported it’s only a 6 month deal. Can’t imagine we’d pay much for that.

Let’s hope Doyle’s spell back at Bradford has knocked him out of his goal scoring rhythm!

Wonder if Bradford could pull the plug on the Doyle deal if Grigg has turned them down.

They're risking looking ridiculously light up front unless they've got a couple lined up. Still think it would make sense if Woolery went the other way.

I doubt it has anything to do with morals. More, he knows he can do a job in L1 and he doesn't want to drop down to L2. Especially not for a mid-table Salford team who barring a miracle won't be making the play-offs this season.
Didn't that apply to Andrade and O'Connor though ?

I’m hearing that we may well have hijacked the Doyle to Swindon deal. Trebled the wages that Swindon were offering.

What I’ve heard is the player was all set for Swindon but having received a late offer from Carlisle, was then said to be weighing up whether he wants a promotion this season or some extra cash in his bank. He’s chosen the cash. A car has picked him up and he’s meeting a Carlisle United representative in Manchester tonight to sign the contract. He’ll have the medical tomorrow morning and will be presented as Carlisle United player on Thursday afternoon.

Andy Cook on loan to Tranmere for a decent fee, Khan to Newport and Mellis mutual contract cancellation and he’s gone to Bolton.

Mellis is completely understandable, Cook and Khan wanted to go, are not capable of GC high press style and were always on the bench.

Cook actually has a really good minute/goal ratio

We signed 26 year old left back Bradley Garmston from Gillingham and 32 year old attacking mid Elliot Grandin on deadline day

Tom Nichols was brought in on deadline day - I didn't realise how poor his goalscoring record actually was. Hopefully he can find his shooting boots at Whaddon Road.

Apart from bringing in Mitch Clark (who was excellent on Saturday) and extending Taylor’s loan earlier this month nothing else from Vale. Although I know some Vale fans were critical of our lack of activity I’m pretty comfortable with that. None of the ridiculous signings we made this time last year who then barely saw more than a few minutes on the pitch.

Not lost any of our better players either so overall am pleased with it.

Good window, Mitch was outstanding last year and class on Saturday.

With Manny back next week and Taylor the following I don't see the point spending the money until the summer.

We brought in strikers, Eion Doyle on a permanent, striker Jerry Yates on loan and Matt Palmer a midfielder from Rotherham on a permanent.

Swindon buying promotion then. Doyle, Yates and Hope.

Wouldn't it have been much more satisfying to have tried to go up with just Twine and Woolery up front? It's no fun if it's too easy.

We've been fucking about in this league for too long now! Jesus Twine and Woolery as a front pairing would be a real challenge!!

Good window for us, all things considered. Shipped out Conference South-standard deadwood in James Alabi (Eastleigh) and Dale Gorman (Newport), whilst Conference-standard keeper Dean Brill retired for a second time. Young left back Shadrach Ogie also headed out on loan, joining up with Hess at Dover for some valuable experience.

Incoming we have Lawrence Vigouroux, who is a serious upgrade between the sticks and Danny Johnson from Dundee. He’s a fox-in-the-box type who kept scoring against us for Gateshead. Little twat.

On the loan front we renewed steady eddie midfielder-come-right-back George Marsh from Spurs and brought in his club mate Kaziah Sterling until the end of the season. The excellent news with Sterling is that he is a hilarious amount too good for this division. The less excellent news is that he’s injured until March. Ah well, free swing.

Top of the loan pile is Ouss ‘Oussless’ Cissé, who has been an absolute revelation. Who knew that having a midfielder who can tackle and head the ball would make us a better team...? Well, anyone without a full frontal lobotomy, I suppose. He’s going to be target numero uno in the summer; hopefully Gillingham will deem him surplus to requirements.

Does seem like we’re finally moving on from the horrors of last summer and revamping the squad to make it competitive at this level. Oh, and our best player is nearly fit for the first time this season. Think we’re going to unpleasantly surprise a fair few promotion-chasers over the coming months.

Shadrach Ogie looks a good propect for you. Already scored a goal
And you can't snatch him back like you did with Sotirou. :)

David Worrall is close to signing a new 2 year contract amid rumours of interest from Northampton and Mansfield. Massive one to get signed up and hopefully the first of the rest of the key players signing up for next year.

Not until he’s been there for 28 days, so you’ve got him for 11 more guaranteed. Then we can (and will) insert a recall clause upon any extension.

Unlike Sotiriou (whom we recalled thanks to the shitty form of all of our senior forwards), I doubt we’ll want Shad back unless there is a real injury crisis.

He’s a beast of a kid. Needs some experience, but he’s got all the physical tools. Lovely goal the other day. We’ve got another good’un you can have next year (Jayden Sweeney). Completely different to Ogie in the sense that he has technical ability and positional responsibility down, but needs some toughening up. Save you paying out for a left back for a while.

We signed former favourite Chris Stokes from Stevenage on deadline day, good cover at left back for Joe Mills who's out for 6 weeks apparently.

Re Sterling, 1 goal in 11 league 1 appearances doesn't really suggest he's 'a hilarious amount too good for this division' tbf. The lads 21 not 17.

He’s more of a wide forward than a central striker. Believe me when I say that the gap between League One and Two is light years bigger than League Two and the Conference. He will be a stand out player if we manage to get him fit.

Cook force a move again then? the blokes attitude stinks literally downed tools for us after Keates was sacked.

We brought in Stephen Walker in from Boro on loan. Beat of interest from Sunderland and Ipswich to get him apparently. He's scored 6 goals in 7 games for England under 19s, so he's got got good pedigree.

The most important news was the only player who left during the window was the useless Mbula who went to Morecambe. Everyone expected us to lose one of our star players but Ng, Pickering, Wintle, Lowery and Kirk all with us until the end of the season atleast is fantastic news.

We brought this site crashing down as it just wouldn't have been able to cope with our transfer activity. Whilst we have brought in a couple of young lads (Harry Hamblin from Southampton and Shilow Tracey from Spurs) the real story was of the guessing game of who were the 3 players that went to the EFL to get their contracts torn up to leave us. We finally found out it was Theo Vassell, Miles Welch Hayes and Paddy Osadebe; all of which have had their bright moments this season but if they won't be missed. Good luck to them, I don't begrudge them looking after themselves with the shit thats gone on, but the rumours of them going to Southend just sounds like out the frying pan into the fire.

In shitter news we also for some reason let Jay Harris leave to join Wrexham, on a free transfer as far as anyone knows.

Things have drastically improved today in that Peter Vincenti has returned from his loan at Hereford and Adam Dawson (of 0 appearances for us in 2 years) from somewhere else really shit. So can't wait to see them take their rightful place on the bench next week. To be fair they're both better than Jacob Blyth still.

Apparently we have another incoming this week on a free, rumours it could be Elliott Durrell returning but I highly doubt it. Mark Kennedy does seem really happy with whoever it turns out to be though. Thank fuck Morecambe and Stevenage are really shit too, and we still somehow have a chance of surviving.

Does Gnahoua often score belters like against us? If he does can see some being in for him at the end of the season.
