Any player in a purple patch always look like they have “movement on another level”. Remember Vardy a few seasons ago during that goal scoring run? He looked like he was in the fucking matrix.

I don't think so. Vardy was very good, but even then his movement was nowhere near what Salah has off the ball in particular. Also, it's one aspect of Salah's game I can't see being subject to simply having a good season. If we go on the assumption this is all he's having that is.

If I'm honest, I think it's unlikely he will have another season like this in terms of goalscoring, or not straight away next season anyway (I hope I'm wrong of course). But I think it equally unlikely it's just a purple patch. Something about him tells me what we're seeing from him is the real deal and not just a lengthened honeymoon period with him being back in the English top flight. I can honestly see him being amongst the Premiership's top players between now and him inevitably leaving for one of the two continental big guns.

I accidentally put Troy Deeney as my Fantasy captain today.
I put David de Gea...

Salah and Callum Wilson were the two players I have that actually played today, guess who got captained by default.

Frankly I'll be forever annoyed that we wasted good money on the lumbering carthorse Lllorente when this chap was available. He'll be good for at least another two seasons, he is quality.

It's not just a purple patch, he's legitimately the second best player in the league, but no one controls games like De Bruyne. You can't put statistics on his impact, the curse of the central midfielder. If ever there was a case for a joint player of the season, it's this one, but KDB might be the best player in the world at the moment. Well, OK, it's Messi. He's second.

Klopp is the perfect manager for Salah, he's world class, but I don't think his end product would be in the same stratosphere in a different system. He is just perfect for high pressing, quick counter attacking football.

The funniest thing of all is that, regardless of the player of the season being KDB or Salah (they are the best and second best no matter what way you lean), both were effectively let go by Mourinho because he didn't think they were good enough.

It was just his master plan to land his dream job, it was the only way he could get out of Chelsea.

He couldn't convert them into full backs, so what's the point?

Might make an interesting thread on how Mourinhos failures at Chelsea have effectively hampered Conte in the job. I've thought since the summer its looked as though Roman has pulled up on the spending a bit because he probably wants the young players developed better rather than letting them go and having them go on to be huge assets for other clubs. Obviously they still have spent, but not to be competing with City or Utd.

this shows that even the great coaches are wrong ... let alone others!

If Messi returns to his false number 9 role later in his career (or as a withdrawn playmaker in midfield) I would love to see Salah play in the future Barcelona attack.

A front 3 of Chelsea rejects: De Bruyne, Lukaku, Salah would be pretty handy about now!
Wrong place wrong time for them at Chelsea maybe, but that's a lot of talent to slipped through the club.

I think they'll regret selling Ake in years to come as well.

How's this for a team? 3-4-3 wouldn't work with those players and Bertrand shouldn't be at right-back, but apart from that it looks pretty handy.

GK - Asmir Begovic

RB - Ryan Bertrand
DC - Nathan Ake
LB - Filipe Luis

RW - Kevin de Bruyne
CM - Nathaniel Chalobah
CM - Nemanja Matic
LW - Andre Schurrle

ST - Mo Salah
ST - Diego Costa
ST - Romelu Lukaku

Funny how Salah has been improving year on year toddles. He'll tear it up next year as well. Can't wait to see him get a hat-trick at Goodison in a few weeks. ;)

This is very enlightening. Plus, that's even leaving out the likes of Arjen Robben, Juan Cuadrado, Daniel Sturridge, Juan Mata, Oriol Romeu, Petr Cech, Fabio Borini, Jeffrey Bruma, Patrick van Aanholt, Jack Cork and Ricardo Quaresma. Some of those would admittedly be squad players, but they're arguably better than some of Chelsea's current substitute options.

Mane has more goals and assists than last season, and Salah has been improving year on year mate. How's Davy Klaasen getting on btw?

By your comments, I don't think you've been watching Liverpool's games, neither have you been following Salah's career :fing:

He's an Everton fan and a troll and in his various guises on this forum (and others) is a wind up merchant who believes in a flat Earth too. Don't take his stuff seriously mate, none of us do.

You have to laugh at United fans and their comments about Salah in that single game. It couldn't be possible he simply had an off day, it had to be about the superior skills of Ashley fucking Young of all players.

It's less about young Ashley Young and more about Man Utd packing their penalty box for 75 minutes.

Competent defending in the Premier League, Salah couldn't believe his eyes.

Or score.

Or get a shot on target.

Oh yes, a Liverpool player is about to break the 38 game goalscoring record and the only explanation you consider fathomable is that the entire league has all of a sudden become shit at defending. Makes sense.
