Is completely unfair on you guys; should have an official club statement to clarify things in the next couple of hours apparently.
Our website is suggesting that the club are in touch with the EFL, rather than Macclesfield, and that they expect an update this afternoon. The way I read the announcement they are assume The game is on, but they did imply it might not be. Our players typically leave Friday morning, stop on the way and do some training and then carry on to their hotel. So, I suspect our team is already on its way, in which case if it is off you incur our teams expenses I think.

Did I not read a few weeks ago the named person was sacked? Yes, it is unfair on us, but in truth it is a pretty big kick in the gonads for you guys. You had just been hit with a points deduction and this must make admin even closer now?

Further update on our website. Essentially you have been served a safety notice, which you need to address. The way I read it there are two related but by the sounds of it separate issues, will the match go ahead and will there be spectators? Apparently you are making progress. It would appear the EFL have reminded you about the four point suspension, so I suspect that if you do not get it sorted those four points will be deducted soon. Presumably if you go into administration at a later date another twelve will be deducted? Not looking good, but you do appear to be being treated a bit differently to Bolton.

If the game is P-P the four would apply as they were suspended from the initial two charges and possibly further deductions for the game separately.

So as I read it, the chances of the game going ahead are likely but the chances of there being spectators there hangs in the balance. Obviously it depends on the severity of the tasks required to gain this safety certificate but trying to close out numerous actions in just over 24 hours seems a tough ask to me.

How can you play a football match inside a ground that doesn't have a safety certificate, surely that would apply to the players, coaching staff and officials just as much as it does to the fans. Unless of course they can find a neutral venue in the area, that does have relevant safety certification, and play the match there...albeit without any fans present. At least that would allow the game to take place, even if it is wholly unsatisfactory.

Macclesfield beg to differ, though: https://www.mtfc.co.uk/news/2019/december/20.12.19-plymouth-game-postponed/

"I am aware of press releases which suggest that tomorrow's game against Plymouth Argyle has been postponed.

I would like to state that we have never asked the EFL to play the game behind closed doors and as far as I am are concerned, the game will be played as scheduled."

EFL and Argyle have confirmed it so looks like they are on their own here and probably by that statement making things worse!

They = he, as as usual it's just one person responsible with that statement coming straight from the delusions of Amar.

What a shambles, at this rate it could be fun in the north west counties league.

Give Argyle the 3 points :cool1:
No, I suggest a more fitting punishment would be for the owner of Macclesfield and the EFL management team to run the gauntlet, like in Roman times. All the Argyle staff, media and fans who travelled up today get to line up and those who caused it have to run down the line as the fans show their displeasure. I guarantee the EFL would never allow this to happen again.

As Macclesfield can’t even pay their own staff, I suspect Argyle will be out of pocket as I cannot see them being refunded.

Further, the club have asked those who have travelled up to keep their receipts. So it looks like Argyle are going to refund the fans.

By the way, is it true that a Macclesfield player phoned up Radio Lancashire to see if the game was on?

I am annoyed with how Macclesfield’s owner has handled this, but the EFLs handling is very different from how they handled Bolton in very similar circumstances.

More awful news, too many smaller clubs really struggling and you wonder how many more are going to go to the wall.

I feel for the innocents here, the Plymouth fans who have spent hard earned money on travel and accommodation to see their team and of course the Macc fans who must be beside themselves with fear for their club.

Merry Fucking Christmas!!

So why is Alkhadi not selling?

A week ago Sealey sounded pretty confident this would get sorted.

A week ago Sealey sounded pretty confident this would get sorted.

He keeps changing the rules and adding more complexities; it does seem like he now wants it all to go, perhaps so any dodgy accounts are never looked into.

He's asked for more money, Sealey to sign an NDA/not persue any action regarding previous dealing shown in the accounts, and even tried to get Joe to pay for the safety certificate for the ground (the supporters Trust paid this to try and get the game on). He wants money from Sealey to fix problems and pay off debts before actually selling the club.

Apologies to all the Plymouth fans for being dragged into this. In a way we're probably now a bit numb to it all and each subsequent unbelievable act in this circus is proving to be very believable - almost expected - indeed.

Supposed to be home to Grimsby on Boxing Day , chance of game being on , slim I would think.
As a fan I feel helpless and demoralised but its the players management and staff I feel for most

Have to feel a bit sorry for Grimsby, no one seems to want to play them. How many games in hand will thy have?

I hope Alkhadi is held to account when all this is over.

I hope it all ends well for Silkmen fans, but it's looking pretty black at the mo.

I have no idea what to think anymore. Its turning into apathy which is horrible.

No one has any clue what is going on anymore. Starting to wish genuine harm on Alkadhi for what he's doing to my club now.

To be fair, if not wanting to play Grimsby was a viable option for postponement, they’d end each season with 46 games in hand.

You’re joking right, we haven’t won since September and haven’t scored a goal since October so you should all be queueing up to fucking play us!

If the grimsby game is off, does that mean a further points deduction on top of the 6 plus the 4 suspended that will kick in now the Plymouth game was off?
Or will there be leniency like with Bolton?

Bolton weren't deducted any to start with so we're well past the point of leniency.

Bolton are subject to an appeal from the EFL who want a points deduction applied. Not sure if they used the independent panel for Macclesfield as they did Bolton though.

Macc surely have grounds for an appeal on that basis too then, what a mockery of a sham.
