I hope they're fucked over in the knockouts. They don't fucking deserve to go through, they've been shit in all three group games.

Scraping through by the skin of their teeth. They'll surely come unstuck against France.

Get in there.

Much rather have Argentina go through then Nigeria or Iceland. Good or bad, they're box office.

That game against France could be a cracker.

Can see Argentina beating France. Getting through like this could light a fire under them, they were massively up for it today, scored two absolute belters and Messi's started firing.

Top support as well, the South American fans have been unbelievable at this tournament. You wouldn't know it was in Europe.

Indeed, shame for me as one of my three teams I'd like to see win it will be elminated early on. Maybe finally either side will show a bit of the quality they should be showing by now.

For real. Who the fuck would rather watch Iceland or Nigeria?

Argentina are box office, on and off the pitch.
No I want to see england go as far as possible so the obviously want the better sides getting knocked out as early as possible. Personally I thought they were very very lucky tonight and France should beat them. Oh yes and the fact I never wish argentina to win a game of football unless it's against Germany or rep of Ireland.

Maradona's brilliant. A fun guy who seriously doesn't give a fuck.

The passion from the Argies on and off the pitch tonight is what World Cups are all about. Proper big footballing nation. The more of them get through and are on form, the better.

Obviously would love to beat them if we play them, but definitely would rather have them lighting up the tournament in the latter stages then defensive teams like Iceland or Nigeria trying to take games to pens.

I'm convinced some of these pundits drink before and during the game. How Drogba and especially Ferdinand, a defender, can think that is handball is beyond me.

Deliberate handball. So he can choose to a) head the ball away from goal and away from danger or b) chose to head it down onto his hand so it drops nicely at the feet of the attacker. Rio thinks option b is a goer.

The BBC won't show Diego again all tournament, you know how easily offended they are.

As for the game I really wanted Nigeria to make it through, however you have to admit it makes a far more interesting last 16 tie. Hope the French smash them though.

Yeah its one of the reasons I like Argentina, the passion. Sure they go ott sometimes, and Maradona is a total fruitcake (though in the best possible way); but there is very little of the arrogance you get from Brazil (or england).

You're being very harsh on Nigeria they thoroughly outplayed the argies 2nd half.

Their numbers and noise in the stands has been outstanding though , must have been 40k there tonight in that ground

Poor Saltire. Resorting to supporting Argentina simply because most of the English people on here want them to lose.

They counter attacked well tbf, but they go into games looking to defend until they go behind. Good effort from them though, got a good young side.

Be honest though, France v Argentina is a way bigger game. And the atmosphere's gonna be cracking. Probably be 10 times more Argentinians there then French.

Nope always liked Argentina, all the way back to '86 - remember that? They are my South American side, as I said I can't stand Brazil.

Even more than that, easily got the most fans there for sure.
