Oh, and don't worry about Stepford Whores FC, Swampy spunks millions on it every year but mostly they finish nowhere.:£:£:£

Any six out of:

FGR, Eastleigh, Barrow, Wrexham, Tranmere, Lincoln possibly Gateshead and Dover. Dagenham and York possibly.

And probably some bizarre small team. Bromley or B'Wood maybe.

According to a few Maidstone fans I know, this season will simply be a whistle stop tour on their march to fulfil their destiny and play us in the football league.

This, however, is bollocks.

For me, top few will include FGR, Tranmere and Daggers. I do fancy Lincoln to do alright this year, so they might be in the mix, and if I had to pick a 5th to make up the top 5 then I'd plump for Eastleigh.

I'm not sure how anyone can predict who will do well at this stage, most teams probably can't even field a full 11 (we currently have 8 players)

Looking at that list,FGR obvious choice,Tranmere big club but shit manager,Dagenham best manager but do they have budget, easliegh I don't have a clue about than been bank rolled,Lincoln sound ok,Barrow nothing against them but absolutely hate Cox from Mansfield days,Wrexham hope so and mills is a top man,Gateshead seem to busy in transfer market are they bank rolled,as for York I don't have a clue and I watch them, manager who I don't rate has bought 10 players in,7 of them on 2 year contracts of which 3 involved a fee but nearly all 23 years old from Ireland,Scotland or conference north,

Not totally obvious, I wouldn't put money on us being champions, though I do think we may make the play-offs again. Although we have retained key players from last season, mainly the defence, we have signed eight players who are largely young and probably still regarded as developing. Clearly Cooper may have a good eye for a player and I look forward to seeing what those signed are capable of. What let us down ultimately last season was not scoring quite enough goals, certainly nobody anywhere near the top of the goal scoring charts, and we still haven't signed anyone who can seriously address that issue.

We aren't going to go backwards, that's for sure.

Retained all our best players that finished head and shoulders above everyone else last season and have signed 2 top class centre mids, 2 hugely promising young defenders and are set to sign a top striker to go with a very promising one in Doidge.

Most importantly, we finally have a top drawer manager + coaching staff.

Like last season, if anyone somehow finishes above us they'll win the title.

Well we have gained a fair few deluded fans.

Most realistic fans know we're likely in for a season of real struggle. We simply haven't strengthened enough. Our main problem last season was struggling to score...what do we go and do?? keep our forwards who struggled to score in the South and suddenly expect them to do that in the level above :ffs:

Hope i'm proven wrong, but im expecting us to be in a relegation battle.

What about teams finishing 9 points below you, do they get to go up again instead of you?

All depends on if the team behaves off the field. In my opinion last years failures had nothing to do with Mills, but idiotic players. People like James Gray & Wes York getting in trouble with authorities because they couldn't control their drink. You can't build team spirit with players like that. The first few months showed what we could do and then they went and damaged the spirit.

If we can be a team on the field and off it, I see no reason why we can't be in the Top 6.

Amazingly we now have 13 players signed up. One of our most disappointing players last season, Ryan Higgins, who was offered an unlikely new contract, has said he's being tracked by a FL club. Good luck whoever they are.

Tranmere really ought to be challenging for a top 5 finish next season on the back of 5000+ crowds. There's a full complement of players in place and a lot of continuity in the squad from last season. The question is, can Gary Brabin get that extra 1% out of the players to get us in the mix? I'm not convinced.
Think the "John Still factor" will see a strong season for D&R and Gateshead, Eastleigh and FGR have recruited well.

Thought the same about Dagenham but then again the last time Still was down here he had a much bigger budget to work with.

Most of us expect a messy relegation battle Joe, I'd suspect many of the people you've spoken to are just having you on!

By this time next week, we'll probably have a mere 28 signed up in time for the start of pre season, with one or two more possibly to follow depending on trials. Could almost field 3 teams!

Following the Luton tactic there from their Conference days (pre-Still). Failed time and time again.

They didn't have a top manager who knew this division inside out until Still was appointed though. In this league that makes all the difference.

Considering you have supposedly cut your budget and are not throwing money at it anymore then very well done sir, around 30 players on a budget of under 1M is frugality at its very best there.

Out of the ten players we've signed so far this summer, five are under 21 prospects plus one 18 year old from the Academy (to go along with the other Academy graduate from last year) plus another two under 23s who are more likely to be starting or at least pushing for the matchday squad (Doidge & Pinnock). Only "older" players we've signed are Noble, 25 and Traore, 24.

12 of our squad will be aged under 23.

That's like saying Pelly Ruddock was a prospect though, when in reality he was way too good for this league and Luton threw money at West Ham to sign him permanently. I don't know whether these players under 21 were free agents or not and if they were then that's understandable, but it not then I'd say you've pushed a lot of money out there to get them to sign for a National League club.

Yeah we paid Under 24 compensation for Doidge & Pinnock, and a minute amount of compo for Moran.

Looks a tough one to call next year but my predictions are:

2016-06-25-19-27-41--716995078-1.jpg
= Forest Green Rovers.

Not really sure about the others.
