F*ck me we're absolutely dreadful.

So are Tranmere.

The f*cking standard of that game was absolutely abysmal.

Make no doubt, we're absolutely in this. We had a nice head start at the beginning but we are well in this fight.

Since Garner has taken over:

- We were: 4th in L1, 35 points, +4 GD.
- Now: 13th, 36 points, -5 GD.
- Our form: LDLDLLLL.
- We've scored 3 goals in his 8 games.
- 2 of those goals were penalties. The other was a free kick.
- We haven't scored from open play.
- 14 shots on target in 8 games - 50% of those came Vs Wimbledon & Coventry at home. If you take those games out, we're 1 shot on target per game.
- We haven't scored since 3rd Jan.
- We haven't scored in the league since 26th December, which was a penalty.
- He has told Nichols he can leave & doesn't play him, without having any back up.
- He hasn't signed a striker.
- He sign's attacking players, but doesn't produce a formation where they can play - not does he even start 2 of them.

Now Garner is out on compassionate leave over a family issue, we've got the worst of both worlds. No manager (who's shit anyway) but he's calling the shots still & meeting players.

We have no idea how long he'll be out for so we can't bring in someone on a temporary basis, nor can we fire (and nor should we) him due to his personal situation atm. We're really stuck in limbo and basically, we're f*cked.

I'm not sure timid Tommy Nicholls and his 4 in 93 games is the answer to your relegation survival.

Would have been had Blackpool not sacked Grayson. You might on the hunt for another manager if you lose this.

Having said that, i think you will be ok with room to spare.

We'll be alright Gassy -- Starting Saturday.

I don't think we'll go down as the bottom 3 are specifically poor this year, but I am not confident for Saturday.

I'm fairly confident Ben will be here all season. Eventually the club will bring in an assistant or DoF to assist him.

He needs help or a new job because by himself he simply is out of his depth.

Even if we lose to Blackpool we will not be sacking the manager. Garner is very lucky this season as the club have brought him in to change our style of play instead of hoofball that Coughlan employed to a system wherby we will try to play a shorter but quicker passing game that the likes of Doncaster & Coventry play at the moment. Already there have been quite a number of players that have been brought in and others shipped out in the January window and a lot more are expected to come and go during the summer. Will it work -- We won't know until the start of next season but as for the rest of this season Ben Garner has a free reign.

Problem is George that he's not playing any of them!

He said recently that he wants the new young signings to 'want the shirt like the senior players'. Which I have to say is pretty worrying

I’ve backed you at 2/1 to win. Fantastic odds for a home team playing a pile of shite like Blackpool.

Sorry, I popped in on auto-pilot. So used to being here on a regular basis.

Pity, cos this year it's a stroll in the park for all bar 3 or 4 teams. Last year half the division was up to it's neck in relegation stress.

If we don't go up this year, chances are we'll be in here next year.

Beginning of March and both Tranmere and Wimbledon had good wins. We scraped a draw away to Rotherham which I wasn't expecting and Rochdale unsurprisingly got beaten at Portsmouth so now its 7 points from Tranmere to Wimbledon, 8 points to Rochdale and 11 to us. I don't think anyone above us has any need to worry.

There's still plenty of twists and turns to go. I'm hoping we now have enough buffer for a couple of dire performances that will probably occur. Our run in isn't too bad though I don't hold out much hope for the Peterborough or Oxford matches.

We also have both Tranmere and Wimbledon away. They could be pivotal.

Well as much as we would all love Mk to get relegated I doubt they will this season. As for us I think after our win at Gillingham on Saturday I think we will be ok.We probably need another 10 points so a point a game should see us safe.Tranmere still have a chance of survival however. If you look at us last season after 32 games we only had 23 points. We managed to get 27 points from our remaining 14 games so anything is possible. There is no guarantee that we will beat Bolton on Saturday either.

Milton Keynes Dons should be renamed to Milton Keynes Aberdonians. Their fans can still call themselves the Dons.

Shrewsbury could get drawn into the relegation battle looking at their upcoming fixtures.

They shouldn't get in to trouble, finishing with 3 of the current bottom 4.

Even with our improved form, I doubt we can overtake anybody that already has forty points or more. I think Accrington, Shrewsbury and yourselves are all effectively safe.

There is a huge three weeks coming up in the relegation battle. We play our games in hand in the next fortnight, starting with Blackpool on Tuesday night. We then play Rochdale and Wimbledon in the space of five days, with those two sides meeting the following week. Our final home game of the month is against MK Dons.

We will know a lot more after that series of fixtures.

Going on last season’s table and factoring in two less games and one fewer relegation place, 46/47 points should secure L1 football for next season. While I think it very unlikely, not impossible that those sides already around 40 points will go into free-fall and not hit that mark.

It will take a tremendous run for Rovers to avoid the drop. April looks tough, so we have to be in with a fighting chance after this month’s fixtures against those closer to us.

It was a big win for us on Saturday. We're about there, but with so many random formations, personnel selections and performances, you can never really predict what on earth we're going to do and it's a little unnerving at times.

Tranmere need to win 5 of their remaining 11 to overtake us but with Bolton (a), Rochdale (h), Bristol Rovers (a) and AFCW (h), you'd like to think we have enough points in those four to edge us to 46/47 points.

That said, Tranmere have got a dream run of fixtures in March. It's going to go really well or horribly wrong.

You should be safe on that.

Will be nice to see tranmere come back down (and would be amusing) but I think they’ll get out it.
know a few who follow Rochdale too so hope they stop up

Well I did say that there was no guarantee of us beating Bolton on Saturday. It really is hard work watching us!! Toothless up front.I don't think it's just a case of us or Tranmere being relegated however.Mk and Rochdale are still in the mix.Tranmere could well be level on points with us by the time we play them in a couple of weeks. The only thing that might be in our favour is that Tranmere may be a bit leggy when we play them having played 2 games a week for a few weeks.
