It's such a shame that Simeon Jackson's career seems to have fallen off a cliff. He was great for us for a couple of years.

Blackpool.
Jamie O'Hara has been offered a new contract at Blackpool, while Tom Barkhuizen was also offered a new deal.

Options have been activated on the contracts of:

José Miguel Cubero
Andrea Orlandi
Nile Ranger

Already under contract:

Tom Aldred
Henry Cameron
Charles Dunne
David Ferguson
Luke Higham
Connor Oliver

The club will not be activating options or offering contracts to:

Andre Blackman
Peter Clarke
Tomasz Cywka
Steven Davies
Nathan Delfouneso
Joel Dielna
Bobby Grant
Gary MacKenzie
Tony McMahon
Jacob Mellis
Nyron Nosworthy
Darren O'Dea
Elliot Parish
David Perkins
Jeffrey Rentmeister
Saer Sene
Francois Zoko

Loan players returning to parent clubs:

Miles Addison
Grant Hall
Joe Lewis
Gary Madine
Niall Maher

9 players registered again, although one is Nile Ranger, that Cubero is hoping he can't get a work permit by the sounds of it and Orlandi is trying to leave on a minutes played clause.

If Stephen Dawson decides to move on, then I wouldn't mind Perkinho back instead.

Someone started a thread on UTS a couple of weeks ago saying Smith had spoken to Delfouneso's agent. Most likely to be bullshit, but I suppose he may want to relocate back to the Birmingham area.

Which of the current bunch of city rejects will go on to have a good career scoring against us every fucking season?

Could see us signing Gary McKenzie from Blackpool released. Probably not McMahon as he hardly played. Will cry if we sign Zoko.

The Nile Ranger contract offer is a nice touch by Blackpool; ensuring he stays on minimum wage for another season and is unable to play for anyone else, presumably as punishment for going AWOL since December.

Supposedly he is on £150 a week if you believe the Blackpool forum.

I wouldn't mind Peter Clarke from Blackpool, we need a leader at the back.

We have released Ian McLoughlin and Will Summerfield
I can see Ian maybe being an option for Walsall when O'Donnell leaves, he had a good loan spell there not so long ago and that brought about the best he's ever been for us when we had to recall him

McLaughlin will end up at the Bescot.

I'd have rectangle back, depends on whether Cutler rates him though as we didn't have Cutler when he was here last.

Not sure why the massif rovers were omitted but the rejects who we let go...

Dean Furman
Stephen Bywater
Theo Robinson
Jamie McCombe
Abdul Razak
Reece Wabara
Alex Peterson
Lewis Ferguson

Bar the bottom two the rest would get into most league one teams. I'm happy they've been binned

Dean Furman is toss. Wabara is a typical full back these days great going forward can't defend.

I wouldn't mind Theo Robinson at Latics.

We've just released 2 kids. Charlie Dawes and Jack Broadhead. The other out of contract players have/will be offered contracts, but I wouldn't expect Jimmy Ryan or Drew Talbot to accept

Talbot has (surprisingly) signed a new 1-year contract with us. Good on ya, Drew!

Quick to offer a tootle a deal who barely played a game last year who we obviously didn't 'get value' out of though arent they? Strange club, really really strange.

Neil Baker the spin doctor. Tell us these expensive players are rubbish then it's all systems go to start the season with a weaker squad than the last for the third year running.

The worst thing is they are complaining that he gives the ball away too much and slows down play etc but who did they think they'd signed in the first place? He wasn't/isn't a ball player, he's a grafter and does this side of the game really well, if they truely thought he was a 'ball player' then they have to admit they signed the wrong man in the first place.. Which they haven't done.

Fucking hell seen who Grant has had to play with Davis and Baker? Ness (overrated bar a 2 month spell), Nolan (Absolute pussy) Osman (half the player Granty is) Evans (worst natural midfielder I've ever seen) Turton (Gets pushed off the ball easily, natural fullback) Atkinson (crocked squad player) Jones (Needs to bulk up but has obvious talent and potential)

Poor Granty has been on a hiding to nothing. Tootle won't be value for money because he's now crocked and Turton and Guthrie getting new contracts are an absolute joke. If we don't have a player to break up play next season we WILL be relegated, fact.

I agree with Baker on this one. Midfield has been shite for 2 years. Can't retain possession or protect the back 4.

Another piss poor permanent signing.

Piss poor. Perplexed.

24th spot sealed next season. Not even into June. Looking forward to Grant's replacement, probably a player whose name begins with C and ends in "hris Atkinson". That's where the value for money is, pay shite get shite. I give it till around January when Atkinson will be ousted in place of a loanee to try and save our skin, who will cost three times as much as "not value for money" Grant.

I'd have far more respect for Davis and Baker if they'd said "Grant's done well but we can't afford him". This whole pretence that Grant has had a poor season, despite silly fans liking him, in order to get rid of him really is insulting.

Never seen any other player get slated to the extent Grant does and Grant isn't work-shy at all. It's a fucking disgrace. Even Colclough gets wrapped up in cotton wool despite all his court appearances.

We've got to get out of this mantra where Academy players have priority, I'd have binned Turton years ago yet he's still here. Conversely what have Harry Davis and George Ray done to earn 2 year contract extensions when Mark Ellis was told he made too many mistakes, it's laughable!

Talk about Grant being value for money yet offer Oliver Turton a new contract. Stop taking the fucking piss out of us.
Excuse me? I'd imagine Turton is probably on less than half of what Grant makes. So yeah, I'd say we have gotten value for money out of him. I agree that Bakers comments are bizarre reference Grant, but thats where is stops for me.

Neil Baker the spin doctor. Tell us these expensive players are rubbish then it's all systems go to start the season with a weaker squad than the last for the third year running.
Weaker squad? How so? If we can get rid of Shearer(who has been told to do one and I suspect he will) and get in Rachubka, the goalie department is stronger. If we sign an experienced defender like they say they will, I'd say our defence is better than what is was 12 months ago, given that the likes of Guthrie and Ray have 12 months more experience, Davis isn't injured and Turton/Baillie look good bets at RB. Get Leigh signed up and whilst its far from perfect, I'd be far happier with our defence now than the state it was in a year ago.

Upfront, we had Oliver, Inman, Waters and Haber(who wasn't signed until the end of pre-season), plus rookies Saunders and Cooper. This time, we'll have Cooper(who has a lot to prove, but we know has the talent), Haber(who hopefully should be pretty match fit when he returns from the Gold Cup), LDV and hopefully Colclough. Maybe Saunders and Murdoch emerge as surprise packages. All of that equals up to much better than a front 3 of Oliver, Inman and Waters that's for sure.

Midfield, meh, juries still out. I understand the anger of the Grant situation and I find Bakers comments baffling. We'll have Jones and we'll definitely sign another CM, probably loaning a third. Lets remember that we have £400k of budget left to play with. Take some of that out if Colclough and Toots sign and it's still enough to suggest we could get a half decent player or two in. £2k a week(which is I think more than what Grant makes) only equals £104k a year. 2 players in on 2k a week? Loan in a winger/CM? I'd say that all adds up to a stronger squad than last season.

Dear me, hysterical much? 24th place sealed? Why, because of Grant? Haha, next joke please. He's a good player and one we should be trying to keep, but losing him will not be the reason we finish 24th, not a chance. Not even into June? Exactly, not even into June and already some are predicting doom. I don't expect fans to be jumping for joy over this news, but declaring the season over and we're not even in pre-season is just stupidity. Come on Timey, get a grip. Thought you were smarter than this.
