Lifelong Wednesday supporter Paul Hurst gets his dream of managing at Hillsborough tomorrow, and will no doubt be giving envious looks across to Jos Luhukay. Ipswich still yet to get their first win of the season, and went out in the cup to League Two opposition, while we got off the mark in midweek making it all set up for an away win. Ipswich have brought in a lot of players from Leagues One and Two and will no doubt be taking a bit of time to adapt, which means it's probably a good time to be playing them. As for us I don't think there will be many changes if any from the win over Millwall, Fraser Preston hobbled off in the second half but I'd be tempted to put Forestieri back in for him anyway if he's fully fit, we may also have Lucas Joao back in the 18 which is great news, would definitely stick with the same system too.

Result is less important that us managing to find the net, ideally a couple of times.

Can't remember the last time we beat Ipswich at Hillsborough, that has to end one day, hopefully today.

Whoever number 45 is for Sheff Wed should be banned for cheating lookng at that replay. Disgraceful. Perfectly good tackle.

Well that wasn't an easy watch on the eye, a dreadful game. Ipswich were absolutely dire and I'd be surprised if they aren't involved in a relegation battle, we weren't much better but when you have the attacking talent we have we're always going to have a chance of nicking a winner. The red from where I was sat on the Kop looked a blatant two footed tackle but the replays do make it look harsh, not that I'm arsed that's two massive wins for us, how quickly things can change in football. Great to see Joao back and straight back on the scoresheet, he's going to be worth a fortune very soon. Again some good performances from the young lads, Thorniley looks a seasoned Championship centre back absolute class, Penney again did really well and has the shirt for me. Onto the cup game.

Ref only gets one look of course and maybe that is what he saw.

Also maybe helped by the Wednesday players straight away appealing for a red card - as would the Ipswich guys done if it been the 0ther way round.

Reaction of the crowd definitely played a part too, referee was pretty poor today.

That’s wrong. According to our radio, Edwards was tackled hard by Bannan towards the end and made nothing of it, if he had, Bannan would likely have received a second yellow.

3 points is the most important thing BUT as you say, it wasn't a great game to watch.
I think unless Hurst sorts something out pretty soon Ipswich will be in a relegation battle and on that performance we could be as well, having said that it's always good to win when not performing well and we did dig in and battle for the points.
Can't understand why Fletcher and Forestieri weren't brought on earlier, little creativity from either side and until the sending off (not seen it since, but was surprised at the time) had a tedious 1 all written all over it.

Same story today, played some good stuff but missing the final ball/shot. I thought we had the better of it and looked the better footballing side before the joke of a red, but it counts for nothing if we don't have our shooting boots on.

It's early days but I hope one of the 3 loans Hurst is looking at is a striker. I'm not convinced by Harrison, think I'd prefer to see Sears but don't think he'd suit the lone striker role at all.

Lots of positives, but goals win matches. Must remedy.
