So, South Korea need a miracle to qualify for the last 16. They need to win by 2 goals to get above Germany and hope Mexico do them a favour against Sweden. Looks unlikely, but you never know.

As for Germany, their last minute winner over Sweden might be the turning point in their world cup. They are now a win away from qualifying. They'll probably have to settle for 2nd and if so, they could face a potential match up with Brazil.

Will Germany do it? Or will they mess up as they almost did against Sweden?

Yeah, Manu: I can understand that you're scared when you look above and see Fritz, Franz, Lothar and Philipp with the bloody World Cup trophy and you are maybe Captain of the first German Team that fails to get out of the group stage in a World Cup.

So better win today against South Korea.

Not sure Germany are that certain to play Brazil if they come second, looking at the fixtures Switzerland could well be winning that group.

Germany won't falter, but one can dream - if we are to exceed expectations we need to avoid as many top sides as we can.

Well you won't really be exceeding expectations if you make it through to the latter stages having only had to play dross sides.

Dross sides eh?

Unlike Serbia, ROI and Austria, who are all world class you mean? How did that group work out for ya?

First of all we have to qualify which isn't a give away in our group and then we look what team we are playing next.
But I am hoping that the Swiss will top the group. Not because I see them as "easy prey" in the 1/8 finals then but because it's easier to bear when we lose against our friendly neighbours from the south than against bloody Neymar

I just assumed Korea were out having lost back to back matches.

화이팅 !!

Son of Cod : What does the signs mean?

I hope you don't mind that I want this time South Korea to lose. You know I like the team and if there would be a way that both teams could qualify then this would be the best, but unfortunately only one of us can qualify now.
Anyway I hope this will be a good match so that South Korea will go out by making its fans proud.

That's a fair point, I'd still take it though.

Hahaha absolutely don't mind at all mate, Korea have been poor so only have themselves to blame for going into their toughest match needing a miracle. I think they're bloody lucky to still be in with even a minor chance of qualifying when you look at how some of the other groups have panned out. Peru being out going into their 3rd match being a prime example of a team that deserved to be in with a shot up until the end.

화이팅 literally means FIGHTING! It's kind of like a "C'mon on!" sort of encouraging battle cry that Koreans use.

Coral have stopped taking bets on Korea to qualify, so I've got £2.50 on Mexico to beat Sweden and Korea to win +1.5 goals as it was the closest I could cobble together as a Korea to qualify bet. 45/1 haha.

Odds of 45-1 eh.

That means if you stick a tenner on, you'll lose a tenner.

Tim Mälzer, what do you expect? ;)

Sorry, to hear that but Platinlounge? phew, I only have money for a beer and a bratwurst on matchday ;)

yes, on our homepage too:

130 years in existence instead of the 55 years in Bundesliga, not the worst idea to deal with the inevitable and to give the clock another "job" ;)

Germany look so lifeless again. Why bring Özil back in? Surely Germany fans must get fed up of him too? Why not stick Brandt on the wing and get some pace on the pitch? Every time Brandt has come on, he’s looked exciting and positive.

Yeah Ozil is not overly popular over there atm, they call him "the dead frog" lol.

Agree about Brandt, offers a bit more pace and gets his shots in.

Ok guys so what are the chances of South Korea winning here, making our draw good enough? Are they dominating? Tell me come on

It's a white game bilo mate - both sides drab as fuck. I'd make Germany more likely to score but the Koreans have it in them to nick one.

Anything can happen in this game. Germany are poor again and slow and uninspired with the ball, need a big improvement second half. South Korea don’t really have much a threat and have been comfortable defensively, but they also have Son and he can easily pop one in the top corner out of nowhere.

Germany have been crap, Werner especially, but they're creating the odd chance. Only a matter of time until they score, although they'll probably wait until injury time again.

Do Germany know what’s happening in the other game and that they’re currently heading home because of it?

Would laugh long and hard if Germany end up not progressing beyond the group stages.

Sorry Dirk.

I'm sitting thinking the same. Sweden now 3 up.

There’s no urgency, it’s odd. Brandt should have been on around 60 mins, nothing has changed since half time. Müller coming on before him is a joke
