So, it's that time of year we have our ultimate bogey side.

Since Accrington were promoted we've played them 12 times in the league (though we did win in the fa cup) and we've won none of them, sod all, zip, nada, ziltch. Which is extraordinary.

Last season we drew twice - 1-1 away early in the season and a brilliant 4-4 at Field Mill.

So what this season? we've obviously a better side than last year, but Accrington have started well also. I'm thinking/hoping for a point.

Thoughts?

Ultimate Bogey team for Mansfield, but I actually fancy a 3-1 win.

Rose, Bryom, White to bag.

To be fair does anyone in Nottinghamshire have a good record against Accrington?

Can't see us breaking the bogey this early in the season. 1-1

We even beat Forest in the League Cup when we first got promoted in 2006 :)

I was one of the few away fans at the 4-4 draw back in Feb - a great game which I didn't want to end.
Whilst we have a good record against the Stags we have a terrible one Vs Steve Evans - he usually gets the better of us. Really not sure what to expect but I know the players have had a kick up the arse after a lacklustre first half away at Yeovil last week.
I sit near the dugouts so I'm sure what happens there will be just as entertaining as on what's going on the pitch!

I'm hunkering down in the dark, under the stairs, with some methadone and a poo bucket. I'll be back out when the full horror of Accrington away is over and done with.

it's a bit like when we play Plymouth. Just write it off as a defeat and anything else is a total bonus.

accy have played 2 games and had two totally different back- lines, missing from the Yeovil match were Omar Beckles & Ben Richards-Everton two giants for us at the back not sure why they were excluded from that match hopefully they will be back today, accy have scored 5 goals in their 2 league games but I expect a low score line today, welcome to all stags hope you have an enjoyable day out but leave the points with us, safe journey to you all

Good memory!!
Yes it was a first round tie and Forest had just been promoted back to the Championship (Colin Calderwood was managing them I think)
They played it on a Monday night for Sky

Sorry about that, I actually thought we should be allowed to beat Stanley for once.

We just can't do it.

Jeez, can't Accrington just go out of business of something, fucking again.

Logan cost us the game, can't come off his line, the lads too fat. He's an embarrassment. Can't understand what his purpose is

Mansfield are a long way away from winning this league it seems.

Anything less than you finishing 1st will be seen as a failure and we will all gladly mock you if you can't do that.

Failure realistically is not getting into the top 7. Not sure why we were made favourites.

Also we never beat accrington so onto the next one.

Last seasons premier league champions are in the bottom 5. Coventry lost at home to Newport, Mansfield lost to Accrington.

It's a poor result but it's hardly season defining.

Chelsea/Mansfield comparison. I love the smell of August in the morning.

Also loving this Kee and Kayden Jackson combo. Knew there was a player in Jackson, glad he's probably gonna get a decent run of games under his belt.

Well anything goes in August. It's daft, it's the best time to play sides who you don't think you'll get anything against

Kee was a good player for us unfairly used and released and was always going to score against us

a close encounter today, though the Ref, Darren Bond was completely inept, as we always say these early games are hit & miss, give it 10 games and we will have a better idea of where we stand, best wishes to all for the rest of the season

Kee wasn't released, His loan ended and murray was stupid enough not to try and get him back.

What that Logan is shite, or that we'd lose to Accrington? if the latter, we already knew what was coming. A bit like a slow motion car crash when you know what'll happen long before it does.

Good analogy for your title challenge too.

Logan not being very good, and not at all the fitness levels for a professional footballer. I remember saying when he signed and getting rounded on by angry Stags

As said elsewhere, when we won the conference we had 4 points from 5 games and conceded 4 in 3 of those games (including yourselves....) so it's not a big a worry.

In short, I don't think Mansfield fans have shared the blind optimism that Evans has suggested - we're not the most optimistic lot - there's always something that cocks up round the corner. That said, we're a decent keeper (Olijenik starting on Saturday is a must) and a decent forward from a side that should be challenging the top 3

A workmate in the office follows Dale and had already stated something similar.
