Our annual donation of points to Swindon as on-going payment for loaning us Jimmy Glass. We did beat them pretty well earlier in the season in what was the first game of a very good run of form. I'd love for that to happen again but we're a much different team now and very disjointed.

I can’t believe we can be that piss poor again - it was Wellens’ first game in charge. We’ve recruited well since then and are on our best run of form of the season at the moment.

We need a win to maintain any kind of PO push which wont be easy playing up in Scotland!

Has that bird shit been cleaned off our seats yet?

Need to be looking at 4 points from this game and Stevenage. Stevenage away on a Tuesday night doesn't exactly scream win to me so could do with the 3 points here.

1-2
Robinson and Woolery for Town.

oh yeah ages ago. Was the first game of the season last year when you had that problem right?

Can see us maybe scraping a point here but defeat is more likely.

Steven Pressley is doing a terrible job unfortunately.

I don't think it's really fair on him though. It's one thing for a manager to have to get something out of a squad that was build by another manager when that predecessor failed to get an acceptable standard from them and expectations are low. It's another thing when his predecessor was probably getting everything out of them it was possible to get. Hard to see how a new man can come in in that situation and not do worse unless he gets a good transfer window to fit them better to his own design.

Maybe, and I’m not writing him off. Hopefully he turns things round before the season is over, but so far he’s not done a good job. Results say this.

Feel it’s a question of how many not if Swindon score.

Not confident at all.

Where is Carver when you need him? Does HG ever say anything remotely positive about his lot? You beat a decent Swindon side ffs!

we were second best overall, but we created enough chances to win the game. I don't feel like it was one of those where we were totally jammy, we earned the victory, even of not in the most conventional way. I'll take that.

I’m just not happy with what Pressley is doing. It’s been blindingly obvious in recent weeks that our midfield is now the area where we get exploited because it’s defensively weak. So what does Pressley do? Drop our only defensive midfielder to accommodate his three number 10s. And to make matters worse, he plays our best 10 (Devitt) out on the wing where he’s still decent but no where near as effective as he is in his preferred central role.

That midfield of Slater Scougall and Ohare yesterday was getting walked all over. Until Etuhu came on the midfield was a joke. Yes they are all good players in possession, but out of possession or when the ball is loose theyve come off second best in every game I’ve seen them play together so far. And I actually think it hinders some of their games having defensive responsibility. I think they’d be even better players if they had a couple of strong competitive players behind them, then they’d have more freedom to do what they do best in the attacking third. I suppose it’s a good sign that Pressley recognised the midfield problems and brought Etuhu on, because until he came on there was only one team going to win and that wasn’t us.

The striker situation is now a real concern again now Cullen looks absolutely fucked. I don’t know what we’ll do there, maybe the bloke from Preston will get his chance.

We had enough chances 2nd half to have won that comfortably - been our downfall all season.

The only glimmer of hope is that those above are just as inconsistent (and not that good) that we’re still in with a tinsy winsy chance.

3 points at Stevenage Tuesday will do nicely

Funnily enough I thought that while you were on top second half and spent a lot of it in our half, you didn’t create that much. There was one where your winger got past Liddle, cut it across and we got a bit fortunate and had to scramble clear, as well as a couple of shots that were routine saves for Collin, but there wasn’t really much else.

xG would agree with that, they did make some shockingly bad decisions in the box though, as did we tbf

Only going on reports on our forum but we'll be disappointed not to leave Brunton Park with at least a point. Flukey early opener and then what sounded like a stonewall penalty for Carlisle denied, which would probably have put the game beyond us.

Good direct free kick from Bennett levelled things and second half we sounded the better side without really creating anything clear cut. I think the pace and hard work of Woolery, Anderson and Robinson caused problems, but for me, their decision making in attacking positions is often bad.

Scrappy winner from Carlisle to win it and I guess just not to be from our perspective. Probably a much needed boost for the Cumbrians, and for us makes our game at Stevenage a must not lose if we are to keep the play-off dream alive.

I think once we had the goal disallowed we got a bit of belief and probably created the best chances of either side in the last fifteen minutes or so. The offside decision for that goal looked marginal though it hasn't been included with the highlights so only going off memory, then the one that flashed just over Hope's head inches from goal and a rare Anthony Gerrard chance. It was all a bit of a blur though, the adrenalin in the crowd ramped up massively.

After the goal we continued to apply pressure as Swindon threw men forward, and Nathan Thomas really showed second half what he can do, having been disappointing in the first. Etuhu coming on was what made the difference, the balance of the midfield swung the other way with him in there, and towards the end but for some poor decision making from Simpson we could have made it safe.
