First half we were lucky to be in front, but that goal knocked the stuffing out of Carlisle and we absolutely dominated the second half. Great atmosphere in the Kop, can't wait for Oldham on tuesday.
The lower Kop looked rammed on the highlights!

Have to say I don’t recall these “very good chances” you had first half. The goal was the first time I felt you threatened. I thought we were good value for 0-0 until you scored.

Of course we were never going to score ourselves, so once you got the first the game was over.

Must admit mate I didn't see them either

Norwood's header was the only really good chance we had before we scored. There were a couple of other shots from distance you would expect a keeper to save.

However, a game of football lasts ninety minutes and we blew Carlisle away in the second half.

:bg: The other day you were explaining at length how badly flawed the XG statistic is, and this proves your point perfectly.
Yeah, massively undervaluing all our potential tap ins, like the one where we should have had the penalty :box:

Haha, I admire your white-tinted glasses! Anyway, can't wait for Tuesday now, proper big away day under the floodlights. On to Oldham...

All a bonus from here. Think we are good for a top 7 spot which was at the upper end of my preseason expectations. Absolutely no reason we can’t get promoted one or another if we play at the same level as second half

Yep, same. I'm enjoying this way more than last season, it feels like the pressure is off and we can just go for it. Whatever happens now, this campaign has been a success.

How audible were our “We want Pressley out” chants? Just wondering whether our manager and directors will have picked it up from your boxes and dugouts.

Your lot were pretty quiet besides the first 20, not that you can be blamed.

Tranmere fans in area closest to the away end joined in the “we want Pressley out” chants though!

Very audible from
the Bebington Paddock, just after the Etuhu for Devitt substitution.

Couldn't hear anything from the Kop second half, but we were actually making some noise at home for a change

We are so predictable. Yes we play some nice football and have some good players, but we get fuck all for it. It’s absolutely shite and the results under Pressley make his position untenable in my opinion.

First time I’ve really heard the fans be vocal in wanting Pressley gone, but he really has to go. I’d sack him now and hope that with somehow STILL being only 3 points out of the playoffs it gets something extra out of the players that clearly he cant

There really isn't anything more I think can be gotten out of these players. Even if Sheridan were to suddenly return, we'd still have no strikers. People seem to have forgotten that last time we played Tranmere we were in the midst of a run of five home defeats without scoring (one of which was to Morecambe). Nobody then would have predicted anything but lower-mid table anonymity for us.

Then Sheridan managed to pull things together and get everyone playing the best they could, in no small part thanks to Sowerby, Nadesan and Yates, and we did play very well for a spell after that.

Then Yates was recalled and Sheridan quit. We did still manage to put in our best performance of the season without them when we beat Mansfield but every Carlisle fan at that moment was concerned. Sowerby and then finally Nadesan were recalled, and it was just not possible to replace them because Sheridan had assembled a team built to play in a particular way and that required forwards with unbelievable pace.

OK I know you'll admit you expected our form to dip but not this much. I didn't expect it to dip this much either, but I think is because we underestimated the impact those three players had, and also because for that spell during winter we really were running at 100% capacity. You think it is Pressley's failing, I don't agree, I thought he was a good appointment at the time and I don't think we'll know if that's the case until next season (assuming he stays, which I doubt he will). Flitcroft at Mansfield has shown that failing to maintain your predecessor's promotion push doesn't mean you're incapable of producing your own.

The fans focus on some unpopular team selections Pressley has made as if these are the reason we're not doing so well; however we aren't in games because we're not creating chances, we've nothing to lose really, no danger of relegation, so we might as well experiment. It's not much fun for the fans because even when the playoffs seem unreachable you still want to win games, and probably not much fun for the playoffs either, but I can understand why he's doing it.
