Aldershot have signed Shamir Mullings. I was annoyed with signing Quigley but I think they’ve trumped us with Mullings and Harry Pan as a strike force.

They’ve been banging them in for fun in pre season. I do worry though that we’re really going to struggle for goals, especially if Mullings & Pan don’t score early on in the season.

As suspected, Liam Nolan signs. Been good during pre-season and seems well-liked wherever he has been. Happy with that

Nathan Tyson signs. Good option to have.

I know it's not going to be that easy but it's hard to see how Hemmings, Enzio, Dennis and Tyson aren't going to just score a ridiculous amount of goals this season.

Get Jim O’Brien signed up and this has been a decent 24 hours, I would say!

Still think we need a target man to go with those strikers. Badly missed Shola last year

Did you used to support Forest Green by any chance?

Yeah, he’s solid. By no means a player who’s going to be a big difference maker but 6 or 7/10 every week at central midfield or left back. Only issue is that he is pretty injury prone, which may be an issue as I think you play on 3G?

I still worry we haven't got anyone in the middle to unpick defences.

It'll be just the same as last year at present - all the gear, no idea.

I truly hope I'm wrong.

Surely one or two of the first three will leave before the season starts though, no?! That’s an insane forward line at this level.

If any do it’ll be Kristian Dennis - Ardley loaned him out last season and he’s been injured in pre-season so not totally sure where he fits. Would be surprised if Hemmings or Boldewijn left and obviously Tyson has only just signed.

Saw that Boldewijn was being linked with Lincoln earlier in the summer. I presume that means there wasn't much to that?

Very tenuously but there’s been very little concrete tbh. Boldewijn has played every pre-season game and looked much fitter than he did at any point last season. If he does stay and is up for it then he’s potentially the best player in the league IMO.

Agreed. Can't imagine there'd be too many better in the National League this season if he's on form.

I doubt the 3G is an issue since he’s actually been with us most of pre-season so he’s been training and playing on it for a few weeks now

Jim O’Brien re-signs to finish our slightly mad day. Delighted with that - tough midfielder with a bit of quality who was easily good enough for League Two.

Jim O Brien signs. Top quality player for this level and for me the best of today’s signings

Mad day for us, six pretty good signings on paper, nice for things around the club to be positive again.

On another note, our opponents on Saturday Eastleigh have signed Tyrone Barnett today, who scored against us home and away last season.

We do, don’t see that will be a problem. He does seem to have a good delivery from corners.

We’ve now announced Sanmi Odelusi has re-signed on non contract terms. Can’t say I was his biggest fan but he was playing with an injury by his own admission. Probably a win win for both parties short term.

Not sure if he counts as the second signing as it wasn’t really a proper announcement. Just a brief mention. Still badly missing a left back. I expect Ben Wyatt or Binnom-Williams to sign in time for Saturday.

Player of the year two seasons ago, released, re-signed and arguably player of a terrible season last year as a left back.
I really like him and wouldn't have been averse to keeping him. Good honest player and not without talent.

Happy with the signings. We've a sensible sized squad, cover in all positions although we may struggle at centre half of one get a injured.
Still think we're a barn door target man short to get the best from our strikers.
Surely one of Dennis / Boldwijn and probably my Tootle will be on their way.

Someone on Twitter has just said we’re doing these transfer announcements all wrong. What we should be doing is getting one of the Reedtz brothers girlfriends to dress up in a low cut top, put some blingy jewellery on, and nip out in a flash car to pick em up.

Don’t know where he’s got the idea. Classy whoever they are.

Everyone said the same about Salford’s forward line, didn’t really happen did it. It tougher than you think specially when half the teams try to injure you out the game which happened many times with us last season.

It took Ben Turner a while to get match fit but once he did he looked excellent in League Two. Surely he is too good to be dropping down to the Conference. I could understand if he was in his mid-late thirties but he's only 31. Maybe he just needs a contract and thinks he's declining more than he actually is.

Notts County seem to be going down the Dads Army route of Wrexham c2013 and is a bit like Eastleigh's transfer business over 2 or 3 years as well.

Yeah. And that has been proved not to work time and time again.
