We are properly doomed. Haven't won a game since March, 17 without one. Rooted to the bottom of L2. Were following the exact same pattern Tranmere and Chesterfield did. With our overspending the club could be in a very bad way when we go down.

See you lot soon

Don't give up Brother.

I notice Stevenage are deliciously hovering 1 place from bottom.

Didn't mention you because you never were in and around the L1 playoffs a few years before you went down like us, Tranmere and Chesterfield.

I find this very anti Brotherhood, it is your task to ensure the tinpot invaders currently entrenched in League 2 are brought back down to their natural level and lower, you cannot give up hope so soon, you must continue to fight for it is your sacred duty, things may be looking bleak right now but you must fight on and never surrender to the tinpot scourge.

Almost, in 2012 (seven years before we dropped out) we finished 7th in L1, only missing out on the playoffs on the last day to Stevenage on GD. And L2 playoffs the season before we plummeted through the trapdoor of course.. :surr:

Hmmm...... now you know my views on the Brotherhood and I’m all for tinpotters to be banished to the National League hopefully never to return and for proper clubs to hopefully stay up in their place however..........

In Scunthorpe’s case I’m prepared to make an exception. ;)

As much as we wind Wrexham up they should be in the football league. They are a big club with a massive fanbase.

Would like to think they'll be back up soon enough.

Always like going there, especially as recently we always win there.

Thanks and yes the ground passed inspection at the end of March. More improvement work being done during the summer too.
Can we have Cooky please?!!!

Paul Hurst was lMO a bad decision for Scunthorpe. Grimsby took an age to get back in to L2 under him, and lpswich found him out big time. Sorry to be so negative IRON fans but if you persevere with him you could well be joining the IRON of Braintree before too long!

We are lifers down here, never getting out. There's too much apathy in the fanbase for us ever to get promotion, we've seen failure for too many years and now people just wait for it. It's unbelievable how we still get 5000 average gates when we've been here for 12 seasons.

Find yourself a Danny Cowley and you'll be fine.

Have Wrexham seriously considered getting private investment again ? It seems to be their ownership model that is holding them back; most other clubs of their size have escaped within four or five years.

Nothing against Scunny but I hope they come down. Nice and local.

Whatever you might imagine about this league, it’s a 100 times shitter.

The people in charge of us are that hostile that it scares any potential investors away IMO. They are paranoid about someone coming in and trying to ruin the club again and won’t let anyone close. It would have to be somebody absolutely squeaky clean to even get into a meeting to discuss it.

There’s nothing to invest in seeing as we don’t own the ground or even have a proper training ground, so it would have to be someone happy to chuck a load of money in for no return. Isn’t happening.

Get Ronnie Moore in, he'll sort it for ya.

On second thoughts, don't, stick with Hurst. We in no position to be encouraging relegation threatened teams to improve.

Hurst did a very good job here. Took him 5 years to get us out, which may not sound great in its own right but that's probably about average over recent years when you throw the likes of Stockport and Wrexham into the mix. Break his 5 full seasons down as well and you've got the first one (joint with Rob Scott), which you can kind of write off as he was putting his squad together. Then you've got 4 seasons of a manager who hasn't got the top budget in the division getting us to the playoffs in back to back to back to back seasons. Break those playoffs down and you've got one campaign that we were shite in, one in which we came up against a keeper having the game of his life in one leg and then a terrible refereeing decision in the other leg at a crucial moment, then you've got a sudden death defeat at Wembley and then finally a successful playoff appearance. There is clear progression every season. Hurst didn't just get us up though, he changed the culture of the club/dressing room at that time. If you merely look at the length of time it took to get us out the Conference and use that to criticise Hurst, you don't really know what you're talking about.

Scunny right now are in the grips of the combo of a horrifying winless run, a toxic air of negativity around the club and players that don't care. We had all that when we went down and a shite manager in Neil Woods. Hurst is pretty much the only thing Scunny have right now. I've been critical of their spending in the past, but now is the time for Swann to back Hurst. He has a good track record in the transfer market. The fans need to get off his back regarding Van Veen and Hammil as well. The last thing they need is a load of unfit fancy dans kicking their toys out the pram.
