Pickford''s England spot must be under pressure ?

Another mistake gifting Palace a goal.
When does Southgate's contact finish? We'll never improve with him in charge. Absolute joke of a manager.

Probably after the Euros?

Grealish brightest spark so he’ll probably be dropped next game.

We have some decent young players but they will never realise their potential under this tactically inept loon. He never gets questioned every failure. Only excuses. Things will never chance when you have the 'suits' in charge.

I'm fine with Southgate being replaced by a better coach. It's pointless to call for his head without putting a potential replacement forward however.

That is true - not many other alternatives.

And they won't change now whilst he is still developing the squad towards the Euros.

So are you happy that this inept clown leads us to more disappointment in the Euros, which is inevitable. What about Ernie Howe?

Eddie Howe?

He was probably flavour of the month a while back.

Bit like Sean Dyche has been in the past.

Maybe not so now.

I don't think the World Cup was disappointing as such - we did well but came up short in the semi final.

Some of the recent performances might have been but we've not had our best team out i feel.

Guess it's what you expect but I don't think there is anyone that much better to replace him atm.

We lost to a team with numerous world class players in it, who scored twice in the final against France. It's certainly true that that we did the usual thing of failing to beat the first big team we came up against in the knockout stages, but at the same time we've done far worse of late than simply beating the teams we were supposed to beat.

In the last ten years we've failed to beat Russia, Slovakia, Iceland, Algeria, the USA and Costa Rica at international tournaments. Again, I'm all for replacing Southgate with someone better, but who? I'd wouldn't mind Brendan Rodgers getting the job, I think he would be an upgrade, but I'm not seeing many (any?) top English managers around.

There aren't any English managers at top clubs, but tbf top managers don't work at international level these days anyway. Club football is way more lucrative.

Chris Wilder would do a good job I reckon.

We are currently rated 4 in the world. Perhaps we need a new system of rating. I doubt we should be anywhere in the top 15. In the last WC France were the only top team in the world that weren't in a slump. We're are never going to get another chance like that.

Great... but what does that have to do with replacing Southgate?

I'm just trying to understand why you think that replacing him (apparently with no one in particular) will produce better results, not worse ones.

Suit yourself I think you are just a wind-up merchant. Funny how most of my football mates agree with me. Southgate has been a failure in most of his managerial posts. Like I said what about Martinez ~~ definitely more tactical nous than Southgate, who went into a must-win game loaded with defenders.

Don’t think he is leaving Belgium any time soon and he was laughed out of Everton due to his lack of tactical awareness I thought ?

Particularly defensively.

Perish the thought that I might challenge the views of most of your football mates.
