Montano out clark in is the only change I'd make. We cant really take Cullen out as he is scoring goals even though he has been ineffective away. Us and Cheltenham dont lose many games so a draw seems likely but I'm expecting a loss which if it happens will hopefully only be by the odd goal. Only take a draw for colchester to go above us due to our poor goal difference. We kept more clean sheets and let less goals in last season when we finished 20th.

The issue why we finished 20th is in that defending though, that we literally played every game negatively and rarely won.

Defensively we aren’t too bad and I think we’ve only conceded a handful at home (13 maybe) it’s just silly lapses of concerntration and despite our incredibly good home form we’ve managed to beat almost all the high flying sides but drew against most of the bottom half visitors. Certainly more enjoyable worrying about what teams in 8th or above though than shitting it over Morecambe results etc

Thought we were poor today apart from 15 mins before HT when already 2-0 down. If the 6 changes Ollie made were to look at other players then he knows he needs a few more in, in the summer.

Northampton didn't really get out of second gear and controlled the second half comfortably.

Despite that we had 3 quality chances that really should have been goals and on another day would have been. Though even if we scored them I think Northampton would have just stepped up another gear.

I'd be shocked if Green is still here next season yet again comes on and offers nothing.

Good to hear that we saw a game out comfortably for a change. Our group of 6 decided against going this morning when we saw all the stuff about pitch inspections, settled for watching the scores roll in in the local.

Mansfield up next, have to win that one really to cement us back in the play off picture

One thing I did learn about today is Swindon isn’t in Oxfordshire. Apparently it’s in somewhere or other called Wiltshire instead.

We were pants today but still created enough chances to have scored at least a couple.
Northampton very good at what they do though and deserved their win albeit with a fair bit of shithousery along the way.

Cullen is well onside as one of your defenders was almost on the touch line. The second one which was ruled out id need to see again though.
Yep you're right, didn't notice Gabriel on the floor when I saw it at the game.

Saw some laughable comments on social media underneath the pic of the refs early morning pitch inspection, calling us tinpot for not having covers on the pitch, when you can literally see them by the side of the pitch in the picture. We had to take them off to do the inspection you tubes.

We clearly wanted the game on, was going to be a much bigger gate then it will be now. Orient were bringing 700 down, won't be half that now.

Why would he be salty when we won on it?

Oh yes, the game where we battered you for 90 mins and you somehow came away with a win. One of only 2 sides to achieve such heights at Valley Parade this season - well done.

I obviously thought he was Plymouth fan, as a Vale fan commenting on our pitch when they didn’t play there yesterday isn’t strange behaviour at all, is it.

You battered us for 45 but barely laid a glove first half bar a shocking penalty decision but three points is three points.

It’s a fair observation, it looked a potato field as does Newport

Eisa and Van Veen subbed , the two who ran the show at their place.
What could possibly go wrong.
2nd goal was an absolute calamity.
As Bottega I think said neither keeper has really made a save of note yet it ended 2-2 .
Very disappointed at the manner of the draw but you could argue it was about the right result

Only just watching Quest.

Cynical from the Morecambe lad but fucking Artell is going to do himself no good if he reacts like that , what a berserk reaction.
And yes the Bradford pitch is a disgrace

Very poor performance from us today. We were average first half, had enough chances to be 2 or 3 ahead, but Morecambe also had their looks. 2nd half, we get an early opener and instead of kicking on, we went to shit. Missed a few chances to get a 2nd and kill it, then Will Jaaskelainen adds to his growing list of errors by coming out for a cross, colliding with Nottingham and allowing Wildig an open goal to score.

We then had more great chances, but blew them all and after that we faded and had to settle for a point.

Their red card was ridiculous, we were on a break and their lad snaps Ng in half. Late, reckless, probably a red.

All in all, 2 points dropped in probably the last favourable away game we've got. Got to go to places like Exeter, Colchester, Port Vale and Bradford and get results now. Need way more out of a lot of them, they were not good today.

I don`t think they will win an appeal on that one and for once I don`t blame Artell for acting like a cock.

It was a strange second half, Scunthorpe seemed to make little attempt to get back in the game and almost happy to sit back and defend a 1-0 loss whilst we had all the play in front of their back 5 in their half without really penetrating it. Their first was just out the blue as it was about the only time they’d got into our box... knocked the stuffing out of the fans and players it seemed as it just came out of nothing. That said we had a couple of chances before half time and during the second half never really got into gear to try and press home the advantage and in fairness they clinically punished us twice.

It was similar in many ways to the home game with Macclesfield.

I always hear a lot about Van Veen but he looks awful every time we play against him, at times he was like an old bloke who’d won a competition to play yesterday... the only time down the years he has looked ok was the return fixture!

Another game on our home run of 1 loss though and only 5 more to play, Crawley is a tricky but winnable one, Bradford are pants away so should be looking to get a result there and hopefully set up a big tie and crowd at home to Crewe where hopefully we can keep our good recent record up,
then Grimsby and Newporrnto visit. Would be nice to keep the Home run going until the end if possible.

I’d want one of our players to do that in that situation to stop a late defeat! Imagine Artell would as well! But yeah shit when it’s done against you

Same as against us, at half time in our game I even came on here and said how unfit and useless he looked, before of course he gets one chance in the second half and goes and puts it away brilliantly. :dis:

The ending to yesterday's game was odd as it seemed like we got the equaliser by accident. Our team was showing no sort of effort to attack despite being 2-1 down in the 89th minute, I remember our CB Butler taking about 3 minutes to take a free-kick. The defending for our 2nd is horrific though, how on earth was our striker (who hasn't scored in about 2 years) completely empty in the box.

Good point at Exeter for Crawley. Especially as our top striker (Palmer) is injured and Grego-Cox had to go of injured after ten minutes.

The love in interview Yems gave after the match was strange. At times it was hard to tell if he was Crawley's manager or Exeter's. Such lines as " I really want to see them in division 1 (sic)" and " They are great people running this club". It may be true but it was strange to hear it in an after game interview. Obviously his time at Exeter left a lasting impression on him.

This new Bradford - Port Vale rivalry on this page is epic and I can see it soon becoming as gigantic as Bradford’s HUGE rivalries with Swindon Town and Manchester United.

Probably one of the best footballing performances I've seen from us in a long while, our hoof ball had almost disappeared for the whole 90 minutes.
Although Grimsby had a couple of good chances I never felt that we weren't going to win comfortably, even when we were two up and knowing how good we have been at giving away two goal leads this season.
Despite the doubt of the game going ahead and the 1230hrs pitch inspection, the pitch played well and the wind didn't appear to have as much influence on either team as we've experienced in previous games.
I believe the key to our performance was that we had our regular back three together again (Goode, Wharton and Turnbull) and McCormack in front of them since the Derby FA Cup game when our recent bad run started...
