Dear B2TF,

It is with regret that I write to you to tender my resignation from the Original Brotherhood effective immediately.

My decision will not have an affect on my personal opinion and principles, and I still think your organisation is doing a great job. But having said that, I'm not comfortable with the fact that a born and bred proud Yorkshireman such as your good self is now advocating members to vote Tory.

Yours sincerely,

Vanni

Dear Vanni,

I have received your offer of resignation and note your reasons. My Yorkshire town was proudly Tory until the mid 70s and I confess I didn't have you down as a Lefty, so I was tempted to believe you were only joking with me, but then I remembered that the inability to tolerate an opposing point of view is a core feature of that tribe. Still i have faith in you, we've been through a lot together in these trenches, so i'm not going to accept your offer, I want to give you a chance to man up, show me you're better than that, and withdraw your resignation. Take a week to go and have a little think about it, old boy, and while you're doing that, have a go at this poll: https://thefootballforum.net/index.php?threads/poll.22391/

Ciao.

Nothing more simpering and pathetic than a Yorkshireman thinking the Tories are 'their' political party

It's like the decades of evidence as to the contrary have completely passed them by.
The complete undermining and suffocating of blue collar work, the transfer to non jobs in the service sector and zero hour gig working (good luck to town's and cities up north with those jobs after Covid).

The grinding poverty that ruined northern town's and cities that followed (of which ironically the EU funded large swathes of redevelopment, not that the EU is any shining beacon).

The huge levels of inequality which has seen the children of their neighbourhoods go into poverty at accelerating rates, have far less chance to be more prosperous than their parents and now live shorter lives.

It's like they also too miss the numerous and openly circulated contempt their new crown prince of resentment and xenophobia has made about their own communities. The men of northern working class being feckless, lazy and contemptable. The words of an Etonian, Oxbridge, aristocrat. You are the simpering boot boys of Boris. Without spine nor thought.

At least the Tories of previous decades had some ability of governance, this lot are utterly feckless. A single issue government thoroughly out of their depth.

To the extent where even the likes of Piers Morgan, The Times and FT are actually showing how ruinously inept they are. My colleagues from three different countries are constantly asking what is going so badly in the UK. Yet Boris says it has been a success. The world is looking at the nation with shock....and they invariably see the cause as our government.

It takes a special kind of stupid to back this.

For bovine idiots like the clown from Halifax, that pathetic maga mind from Stockport and the daily mail boomer in Cornwall, they are the enablers of this ineptness.

All specimens of utter idiocy. The type who think Boris is doing a jolly good job. The type who care not think as to why we have the second highest death rate in the world, a death rate Boris and co don't have the nerve to release properly. Now at 46-48,000 according to the FT

The type who say enough with lockdown with no care and thought of the thousands of brave, badly paid, austerity wrecked nurses, porters, buss drivers, zero hour shop workers laying their lives on the line. Without adequate safety. Without adequate support from their government. The government that is now stopping coroner's looking at why NHS workers are dieing.

What are you collection of total fucking idiots doing at present to help? What are you risking? Especially you total Stockport stain of humanity? Nowt.

And the irony of this as time progresses is that the ineptitude of Boris, the sickening chicanery of Cummings playing you Boris boot boys like clowns, is that the economic damage will come not from the lockdown but the incompetence of their response to it, the constant cuts and underfunding has and will make the situation far far worse for everyone. As the country smashes into a second wave without ever ridding us of the first wave. The sickmam of the world. With a demanted government.

You lot should keep your heads down as it is going to be painfully embarrassing for you three when we revisit your comments in a few months.

Pedantism eh? Ok then, I don't know how they are going to police fans just turning up and congregating outside the ground.

This claim keeps being made but I can't see why anyone would bother breaking the law and turning up outside a ground to watch nothing.

People are getting banned/posts deleted on our forum for saying stuff like that. There's literally only 2 or 3 posters backing the Tories (2 of them mods shock horror )and in the face of facts, have no answer except rehashing slogans like you say. So much for debate, the country is so polarised, I can't see where any harmony will come from.

It'll come to pass next year when we have a no deal Brexit - it'll be the virus and the EU's fault. And people will lap it up, partly down to the right wing cretins who stand to benefit from Brexit controlling most of the media. That and the imperialist mentality a lot of Brits still have that we're better on our own and don't need the rest of the world. The country will get a huge awakening and the football is just a sideshow.

Absolutely spot on

The rehashing of slogan speak. It's from page 1 of populism. Sad that a fair few saps are too mentally challenged to see it.

Covid will be something Johnson, Trump and Balsonaro cannot slogan their way out of. Their brand of neo populism is already being found out by this situation. As you say though, and worryingly, the next stop on the rhetoric journey for them, to excuse their own inability, is nationalism and the blame game that tends to lead to war.

Some of our twats are coming out with shit along the lines "I don't want promoting like this", "void the season, it's fairer", "give it to Harrogate", Christ on a bike! Arsenal took a place in Division 1 in 1920 when everybody believed Tottenham, who'd actually won their League should have got the place. They've been there ever since and don't give a fuck. Take what you can and sod the rest. And vote Tory.

:db:

Completely agree, especially vote Tory.

From what I've seen of Boris, he might be able to keep them.

But yeah, decent start in HoC for Steer Calmer, definitely a change in tone, but he's got nothing to work with- look at that wretched front bench! Oh deary me. :fl:

The party is devoid of anyone I would vote for. Starmer is a dead man walking in my opinion.

I never debate with Lefties, why bother, we've won all the arguments at the ballot box for the last 10 years and are good to go for the next 10 too. What's it like over there on the wrong side of history?

Go outside and get some exercise to clear your head you fat blob.

I bet you're thinking you're "doing your bit" by being sat on your arse couped up 24/7.

The Tories have handled it poorly, testing has been abysmal, preparation a lot to be desired.

I'm not wedded to a political party and never will be. I have voted for the Conservative, Liberal Democrats and Labour parties in my lifetime. Where I live, it's a two horse race between Cons and Libs and I generally go for Lib Dems as they're good for local issues and the local MP is far more engaged in the community. I'm a pragmatist when it comes to politics.

Funnily enough, you're so against the current government but you're the one sheepishly following their every word?

We have a fantastic Labour MP in Chester who is regularly seen at matches and it on the Commons football Committee or whatever it's called, but I saw a vote for him as a vote for the "vile" piece of shit Corbyn. Now Corbyn has gone I will think again, but Momentum must be liquidated first as they still have more power than the leader.

What you're describing is pragmastim and looking at the bigger picture. The amount of people round my way who wanted to vote for the superior Lib Dem candidate but didn't want to as they saw it as a vote for Corbyn (which it would have been) was huge. You have to have a level of pragmatisim about you. The people who choose their political parties like they're a football team are bizarre.

Without wanting to pander to stereotypes, they're usually of a similar character to HG Yellow&Black. A big fat pudding who slurps his food when he eats, criticises everybody else despite never achieveing anything in his life, has a penis he rarely utilises to its full capacity. Can’t disagree with any of this, the party system of politics no longer works in the age but until people can learn to get over defeats in referendums it will never change regardless of whose in charge as Corbyn and his lefties cronies would have feared just as bad if not worse as they would not have passed the social distancing laws (there has been no lockdown so can’t be called such)

Shame about your past voting as you sound like a glorified tea party clown on this issue. Someone wholly out of touch with the reality of the situation. No different to a few weeks ago on here where your thoughts on the topic were shown to be lacking any human sentiment or knowledge.

You want between 200-500k deaths inside a year then your point of view is correct. But that will do a damn more damage to the economy. Particularly with the sheer ineptness of those running the country at present.

I and many others on here, in the UK and globally are following the quarantining as a matter of scientific evidence. Not the flip flopping shambles that is Boris and his gang of ineptitude.

What am I doing.... supporting my wife who is doing six days on three off as a nurse, having wound down her cancer research team to help on the front line.
Supporting helping her shattered mental and physical state is my priority, at a time whrn one of her previous colleagues died of Covid two weeks ago. Another two are very ill with it. Knowing my wife is worth £60k to the government, doing a job along with thousands of others where they didn't sign up to potentially lose her life, with a government who have given fuck all thought into funding and managing their safety. Unless it means not being part of an EU group supply of equipment.

This whilst working for a food manufacturer with whom we are working out nuts off trying to keep supply chain moving and customers stocked. As part of this, I along with three others have set up a charitable silo to feed NHS workers who had been using foodbanks in the south, thanks to total wanksta!ns like the prat from Halifax voting Tory.

So yeah doing my bit. What about you?

Btw love doing weights, squat to a pretty decent level and have a sound BMI, fat I ain't lard arse. So you're as far off the mark as your thoughts on Covid. Clown.

Shame there's no football and you can come over and say that to my face. Would make sure you wouldn't be able to say it again.
Particularly as your life will be damn load closer to what you have labelled me as being. DM me your pay check and I'll do the same yeah? Total clown.

Shame there's no football and you can come over and say that to my face. Would make sure you wouldn't be able to say it again.
Particularly as your life will be damn load closer to what you have labelled me as being. DM me your pay check and I'll do the same yeah? Total clown.
Oooh, you're 'ard. :box::fl::fl:

Stockport County.
Getting offered out on a football forum by some guy telling me how many squats he can do. This brings me back to one of my original points actually. Is the Coronavirus crisis worth it in the long run when you see the mental health disorders that are currently flooding this country? I don't think the guy from Harrogate's problems are caused by the current situation, I think he's probabaly quite enjoying revelling in the misery and the pain of it all and waiting for the days death figures like they're announcing the lottery numbers. But mental health is a major issue. The advice to HG to go out for a walk/run/cycle or whatever was totally valid and I would urge anybody out there to do the same if you're not feeling the top of your game.

Love to all xx

No one should be feeling they cannot get out for a bit of exercise unless they actually just cannot do that or aren't that bothered.

I know people who walk miles a day and even run/cycle but most of them are people who do regular exercise anyway.

Talking about people with babies/kids/youngsters/over 60s/70s etc.

Unless your very vulnerable there shouldn't be an issue.
