Stickied League 2 Away Support Thread 2023/24

142 happy Crawley in Birkenhead. Got the figure off their website, nothing on the Tranmere one

    Good Friday: 29th March 2024

Rides as a left-side of a back three with wing-backs worked quite well on occasion during his time at Rovers. Think he had one disastrous outing at right-back when we’d run out of options.

    Good Friday: 29th March 2024

Two teams with little or nothing to play for. Rovers tend to be benevolent with opponents on a bad run.

Probably more enjoyable being crucified than watching Bradford v Tranmere…

    Saturday 23rd March

One for the morality police but arguably stealing another club’s place in the EFL is as bad, if not worse as buying your way in. So remarkably shit would be a fair description for the Milton Keynes travelling support.

    Saturday 23rd March

Casey got his wish. Not only were Rovers on the beach but so was Adkins selecting a subs bench without a single defender only for left-back Connor Wood to be taken off, I think injured. Crawley scored with all of their efforts on target, the first two helped by dismal defending. Strong shout for...

    Saturday 23rd March

There’s usually an ex-player who is fairly decent, unless it’s Dave Higgins whose heart in the right place but gets over-excited. Crawley deserve their lead though some below par defending and performances from most of the Rovers side have certainly helped.

    The tinpot thread

Didn’t say otherwise in respect of Pell. Disappointing that you’re not prepared to call out the stupidity by the Milton Keynes player though.

    Saturday 23rd March

Only one change for Rovers, Morris replacing Saunders. However a bench without a recognised defender seems very risky. We’ll see…

    Saturday 23rd March

Casey, think if we win all our remaining games could scrape into the play-offs so not expecting any beach football from Rovers today, while that very slim hope remains. Windy weather could be a factor too.

    The tinpot thread

Some of the Milton Keynes support come across as a tad hypocritical here though. After their deserved late winner at Prenton Park, one of their players thought it a good idea to lob water into the home crowd. While it’s not in the Pell league of danger to fans, a stupid thing to do in terms of...

    Saturday 23rd March

Home to Crawley. We were a bit unlucky not to come away with something in the return game, which was Adkins first match in charge. The Crawley boss whining about the number of penalties we get, maybe trying to put pressure on the referee, who's another triallist from the NL with only a couple of...

    2024-25 Season Ticket Prices

After quite a big rise last year, prices frozen to mark our 140th anniversary. This coupled with the decent football under Adkins has seen an increase on sales from the equivalent time last season.

Saturday 16th to Tuesday 19th March

Tom Davies not fit enough to start for Rovers at the back. Luke Norris comes in up front unsure if as a lone striker or alongside Jennings or Saunders

Saturday 16th to Tuesday 19th March

That's on our own patch. Away is a different story. Unclear if Tom Davies will be fit enough to return in central defence, though he has trained this week. Joe Yarney, who filled in has done ok, but would feel more confident with Davies featuring. Otherwise everyone save loanee Jake Leake...

    Joining League Two for 24/25

Coming down Fleetwood and or Burton, grounds I've not done, but not too far geographically and Vale who have a decent fanbase. Promoted, Chesterfield inevitable. On geography, Alty, Halifax or Oldham in that order, but if it is to be a southern team would opt for Barnet as we keep avoiding each...

    Tue 12th March & Thu 14th March

I thought it was a decent game between Rovers and Mansfield. As Reg said, the visitors gave Robbie Apter too much time and freedom and his goal felt inevitable. Still thought Mansfield would get back into it, but after a positive reaction initially to our goal things seemed to fizzle out and we...

    Tue 12th March & Thu 14th March

Rovers took the lead against the run of play, the equaliser a poor goal to concede, fairly even game. Officials seemed to give a lot of the 50/50s Mansfield’s way.

    Tue 12th March & Thu 14th March

Tom Davies missing from central defence for Rovers, reckon Yarney may find the more subtle Mansfield attack a harder test. What looks like an unbalanced bench too. Decent away turnout making a lot of noise.

    Tue 12th March & Thu 14th March

On pitches, we had significant work done on Prenton Park when the games were off during covid and we’ve benefitted since. Although apparently the weather on Wirral hasn’t been as bad as some places today.
