A good set of results today keep us in the hunt.

1FF is brilliant this evening.

= us last season.

Ahem! :bye:

Hahahahaha. Serves you right for leaving early.

Hahahahaha. You're joking, right?

I'm pleased that GTFC1979 isn't obsessed with me anymore.

Doesn't sound that bad. I mean, our yoof shook Barnet's goal net and were branded the worst supporters they've ever seen in 30 years etc.

Yeah fair play to Martin, like. All of...two away wins in-a-row. :fl: p.s. one against Altrincham...

30 years is a bit much. I remember Chelmsford City's fans being a bit naughty at Underhill back in 1990.
It's just funny you guys shaking the goal net about something the ref got absolutely right.

Character's what shows up to get results in the end, and the amount of points you've snatched in dying minutes must be mind boggling. Why would you comment on these things when you weren't even there? No singing unless you score, no compliments taken for your team's play. Who were the last Conference side that whinged their way to the title?
Actually it's completely the opposite. The amount of points we have dropped in the final minutes has been poor. If anything, we have struggled to hold onto the points at the end.

So if I'm not at a game, I'm not allowed to comment on it? I heard the game and the commentators said it was poor quality from both sides and it wasn't exciting, especially in the first half. Whether you were there or not, we changed the line up to a the wrong one IMO because of the pitch and for whatever reason, only had 1 striker on the pitch when we struggle to score goals with 2/3 strikers. To top it off, it was Taylor who is about 5"10 - not someone to be the only striker on a pitch where is seems we set our to keep the ball in the air.

I'm not surprised the fans didn't sing, what did they have to sing about when it's a dull, boring day and losing 2-0? Hardly like your fans sung, barely heard the home fans at all - and the commentators were in the same stand! Maybe you had too high expectations of our fans, I'm sorry only 668 came and paid your club, perhaps next time we play you'l bring a 3rd of our crowd?

I'm sorry if I'm whining, but I have the right to. Clarke got it wrong in the first half, we haven't played well since Feb 14th and have picked up 1 point from 6 with many of our last few homes games bloody lucky to get the full 3. But please do tell me how many times we've snatched points at the death this season?

I said SINCE THAT OPEN LETTER, one (very) tough away game and one very good win.
Where is the funny part of that? I'm confused........

Yep, having read that post you couldn't've not watched that game more if you tried.

What a glorious set of results.

We have put ourselves firmly back in the driving seat. Anything at Halifax is a bonus as far as I'm concerned - we needed to be top after Eastleigh and we are.

Some excellent looking fixtures coming up and a real chance to open up a little lead again.

Rovers got a point they barely deserved on the day, but hey, that's just what top sides do. Matt Pearson, Neil Aspins love child is back to his uzi rampaging grenade chucking rip your fucking heart out best and yet another game where the opposition had got all the yellows and reds and we got none. We must be the cleanest side in the league. Out of interest, how many cards have Wrexham had this season?

Thanks for your opinion. Look forward to you bringing some fans next season, maybe they'll sing too, seeming as Halifax are known for their away support

We brought a very respectable 260 to yours, which is 1/6th or our core support. Pound for pound it knocks spots off your relatively poor effort today.

Shame on us for bringing 668 away. Please do tell me more how poor our support has been this season!

How have your attendances been over the season so far?

What on earth is going on at Lincoln. I know they've had a poor season but that result is shocking.

Aren't they still in the play-off hunt following those two wins at home or something?

Can't comment on your away support today as I wasn't there. But at the Mem you had one of the poorest and quietest home supports I've seen in a long time.

Don't know whether that was because you were still in the post relegation doldrums or what. But 1 song in 90 mins and that was when you bagged the last minute winner.

Rovers fan in overstating how amazing their support is shocker. When we travelled there for a top of the table clash the atmosphere was dire for 80 minutes. They have one song. If it wasn't for their fans whining at their own players you could have heard a pin drop.

By no means has the atmosphere at every home game been non-stop noise for 90 minutes, but if for some of you guys think it's one of the worst I can only assume you are on the wind up.

I've been to every single game home and away this season and I can count on two hands the number of times I have heard the opposition fans sing. Grimsby's home support was good in the first half at Blundell Park last month and Lincoln were relatively vocal back at the start of the season, but other than that every ground has either been silent or filled with the horrible sound of a drum. That isn't atmosphere in my book.

As I say, there have often been disappointing atmospheres at our place, but there have also been a number of occasions where it has been good. To complain that we only have one song is rich, because it's one more than everyone else has! We are passionate about Goodnight Irene and invariably it does get sung louder than other songs as it is our anthem. I for one am proud of it.

Gassys post during the game was very melodramatic, the game was ok. The pitch has got to be the worse surface I've seen playable in my life.
Great to get a point showed real character from the team a point which seems to be missed by 1 or 2 posters. Shall be a rollercoaster end to the season!

People can go on about how many they had at the mem or they like. Yeah halifax had 260 at the mem but I bet they didn't take that many to forest green which is even closer. In fact I reckon near enough every team have bought more to us then they have for forest green despite Being 30 miles apart. As for Halifax home support. There was 15 or so chavs stood right next to each other with a smoke bomb. We've been used to Leeds, Forest, Sourhampton, swansea and Millwall being at the mem where everybody was up for it and the mem was amazing then but like me and some other if we're playing some shit like Halifax or nuneaton that bring about 6 fans I really can't be arsed to sing i just stand and watch the game. There's never enough away fans to have some ' banter ' with anyway ,considering last season was our worse year in our 132 year history I think our support has been excellent for the majority of the season. People forget how far we've fallen. No disrespect but us playing alfreton and Braintree is like other conference clubs playing a local team in your county in the 8th tier of english footie. Now ask yourself this, could you really get up for a home game if you've had 2 or 3 relegations in 5 years? Would your crowds increase like ours? Because I really couldn't see halifax getting 2,000 if they got relegated a few times. Our support has surprised me this season. Especially how the numbers have stuck but what I do find it funny is when home fans say say how good their atmosphere was. Yeah 50 fans jumping up and down all game is a good atmosphere for them but for example 3 years ago we was at Leeds in a crowd of 40,000 when they for promoted. Now that's at atmosphere. Not 14 year old kids jumping with a drum which most fans in this league are like. Rant over.

P.s read it through and I don't mean to sound big headed but just stating my opinion

1) Of course they will FGR have been in this league for years we've all been there before whereas you are a new ground.
2) I can only remember you being a league 1/league 2 club, plenty of clubs have fallen further.
3) Yes I could.
4) They did.

Don't come on here moaning how tough you've had it when a lot of us in the league have had it worse.

We went from playing Leeds and Milwall to Cammel Lairds and Ossett Albion in two years. They make Braintree look huge.

When did Chester ever play Leeds or Milwall in a league match?
Also, Bristol Rovers fall has hardly been that catastrophic or quick, I mean they finished second from bottom in Division 3 back in 01/02 but were lucky that there was still only one relegation place at the time. Since that season you had one great third of a season which got you into League 1, but for the most part your league campaigns have been mediocre at best.

We were in the top 3 of league one For the few 3 months in 2010/11 after wining 3-2 at St Mary's. Finished just outside the play offs that season. Lets see any of you lot get relegated out of the conference North/south in 4 years time and see how you like it

We were in the Championship in 2003 (and top of it in 2001), and by 2010 we were in this hell-hole, i'd say thats a pretty big fall from grace!! :( :(
And Stockport were in the Championship with us for a few years and look at those poor bastards now!!

Spot on GTFC1979, think Stockport have had the biggest fall.
The day you guys went in 2001 England won away in Germany 5-1...

There are half dozen teams in this league that have played in league one and if you include the reformed teams then plenty who have spent a decent amount of time in league 2.
Well done for having a couple of decent seasons in league one but from what I can see your recent history is largely league 2. Last season was the time you failed to dodge the bullet, but it's not the only time you've come close to dropping into this division is it. From what I can remember we've played you in bottom half 6 pointers on more than one occasion and you certainly weren't top half league two last time we were in the conference.

Last two occasions we played Bristol Rovers in League 2
