As for Alfreton season over. Thank goodness.

Judging by the chairmans comments in todays programme next season is going to be a huge struggle. Really fear for us next season. Good news there is only two relegation spots. Although that might be scant consolation.

I do wonder if Chroley's players have the right rigjt mental strength to come back from the disappointment of missing out on promotion after being top all year.

Congratulations Stockport. You're too big to be down here. I went to the League 2 play-off final 10 or 11 years ago when you beat Rochdale 3-2 and you need to get back to that position without cocking up after.

Thanks for all the messages guys. A relatively nerve-free day once we finally got the first goal in a game we completely dominated - it took until first-half stoppage time for Nuneaton to have a touch in our box.

The only worry in the second half was the wind causing us problems like it did the home side in the first, but alas we had very few problems and continued to be in charge.

I hope Chorley go up. Without Spennymoor’s last-minute winner on Monday we’d be looking at the playoffs instead and I know how gutted I would be at that prospect.

Well done Stockport, really pleased for you, its about time you improved. The problem now will be progressing at the next level, presumably proper full time ?

Looks like we will be going with the hybrid set-up again. No point going full-time if you haven’t got a budget worthy of doing it. We’ll need some outside investment to go full time and have a proper crack at getting back in the football league I feel.

Rumours are that top goalscorer and player of the season Matty Warburton is league bound. I’d be surprised if Scott Duxbury doesn’t follow suit as well.

I think we’ll look to replace them, add a more seasoned striker if the budget allows and see if Oldham will finally let go of Jamie Stott permanently.

I’m really intrigued to see who, if anybody, is released as a lot of our players have had good seasons without looking a cut above and I think a lot of the success is down to organisation, team spirit and work ethic collectively.

Who knows these day's in football but i very much doubt it. He left in a unsavoury way with a few unpleasant comments towards the club and fan's. He had a disciplined approach to management but in all honesty i wouldn't want him back.

Not that it matters but daft how we somehow didn't pick up three points at Alfreton. Comfortably better but didn't take our chances and switched off at the back twice.

I don't believe we had less than a third of that gate today either, couldn't see that many home fans to be honest. Hope they get Heath out, that would be a start in rebuilding.

What an incredible day. Absolutely chuffed. It may be promotion from a level that we probably shouldn't have been at anyway, but it feels just as good, if not better, than the 96/97 and 07/08 promotions. If we failed to go up this year it would've been very difficult picking everyone up for another push next year.

I can't imagine Chorley have much stomach for the play offs after the ups and downs of the last week, but good luck to them. Hopefully one of them or Alty come up with us.

After all that, having a look at some of the aways next season, I think I wanna stay in the Conf North :/

I would take great pleasure in seeing Stockport bottle promotion & then the playoffs.

Purely on the basis that the majority of there fans are self entitled and the arrogance is unbelievable.

Come on Chorley.

Don't let it ruin your summer

THE KINGS IN THE NORTH

Am still recovering from the biggest parties that Nuneaton, Stoke train station and Castle Street have ever seen

All through our time at this level, seeing teams that went up I've always thought you don't have to be an exceptionally good side to go up, just very consistent. And barring one or two aberrations we've been a very solid side. Very few injuries, the players have kept up their fitness throughout, and maintained the best disciplinary record in the top 6 divisions. Just goes to show the importance of maintaining professionalism, even if you're not fully professional

Also like to take a moment to thank Nuneaton, they didn't have to be so accommodating & welcoming, it has no doubt earned them a big bundle and I wish them the best for the future

Many congrats, Stockport. 3/3 for the Brotherhood this season - just need Wrexham and County to triumph over the coming weeks and the Natural Order will have gone a long way towards being restored.

Congrats to Stockport - would have always been a threat for aslong as they were down here.

As for us, we will be down here for as long as our egotistical chairman is still in charge. His post match interview on Saturday was disgraceful, particularly to a man who has been working for free for the last few months!

Thanks for all your well wishes chaps (except AndyPark who seems unusually bitter?!).

There have been many highs and lows of being in this division and I respect every single fan who loves football at this level. You guys are what makes lower the league football so great.

All the very best to each and every one of your clubs in their future endeavours.

Cheers, MWS, all the best for next season, still hope we play each other next season but play offs will be difficult. Fingers crossed.

Well done stockport probably the closest club to tranmere in stature small club competing in a city of giants, nice all seater stadium and solid 4500 fan base.

Will you have the budget to compete next season?

Yep I'll add to the Stockport well done posts. Always enjoyed going there and their long suffering fans deserve it.

Fully expecting us to be going back to our rightful place here next season as fully bonafied Northerners. I'd suspect Oxford will be too, as Braintree's road network looks way better suited to the South. But it's the FA making that decision, so who bloody knows.

I'd suggest had we been in the North this season we would have gone down but tough to say. Marc Richards' team was unimaginative, frankly boring to watch and set out to frustrate but probably had enough to survive. Sounds to me like he's done exactly the same at Hereford. The Chris Todd "era" for us was disastrous, taking us from being fairly comfortable mid-table to being battered by Weston and in relegation trouble with a team full of mostly crap loans and a completely unhappy dressing room.

Mike Cook has then turned us into a side that has been in the top 5 or 6 form wise for quite some time now. Hoping he stays, and although it's highly unlikely, if we can keep Fabien Robert...

Every team with ambition to go up next season should be over the moon Stockport have gone up.personally hope they do again next year.
Plus would like one of Chorley or $pendymore in play offs,Chorley always organised and strong but missing out on title could really effect them,
Alty are best team seen this season but if don’t go up could see Stockport sniffing round for better players.
Add the fact Farsley Celtic are up and probably Oxford City and Gloucester moving over it could be weakest North for a while.
South Shields are in play offs but another bank rolled club though.
