0-0, 1-1 & now 3-3 in the first 3 league games. I'm usually a glass half empty kind of guy but I'm much more happier about the zero in the 'L' column than I am sad about the zero in the 'W' coloumn right now.

It's the 1FF Isthmian Classico tomorrow - Hornchurch v Kingstonian.

If I had to attribute a colour to how the start of the season has gone for us it would be grey. Not quite white, not quite black... 3 games, 3 ties & 3 points. Stark contrast to our east London opponents who have 2 wins & 1 tie to their name including a 6-0 smushing of Worthing last time round. I think we'll both go into Saturday night retaining our unbeaten records as K's continue their quest to be the first team in English football history to finish a league season with zero wins and zero defeats.

Happy New Year y'all. The cricket season is not technically over, but I guess it's time to morph over to the winter stuff. Though I'm sure you're all rootin' Tootin' for an Essex County Championship win. Again.

Anyway I checked into the BVILPD (?) results to date. And lordy, what a pleasant surprise. Anyone would think we had a load of cash behind us. What do you mean, we do? Ah yes - but it's who you give it to and how you spend it, innit Paddy? (Plus I don't think it's actually that much this time).

So 6-0 v Worthing (though apparently we were lucky to go in level at half time), a swatting of the K's and a routine win over More Flags Than Fans & Finchley. Which just about covers my gratuitous insulting / smugness assault of all the posters here. (Give me a break - it's been a while!).

And so, having insulted you all, given no useful insight into anything (as I rarely go), and pretended that I've only just become aware of our UNSTOPPABLE ASCENT TO THE CONFERENCE (when clearly I have been wetting myself for weeks), I shall return to my oak-lined study and prepare for the annual post October collapse.

Actually we play Carshalton on Saturday who are supposed to be decent - so I'm secretly inuring for the collapse to start mid Sep!

Hope you are all well

Flagged up by Ian King of the excellent 200% website and podcast. The Isthmian want to claim ownership of all images taken at member grounds. Obviously they don't care about the livelihoods of photographers.

The accreditation process the league are planning to introduce for photographers is absolutely fine in my view - there's nothing wrong in having a bit of structure re who is allowed to take pitchside photographs at Isthmian grounds.

The ownership stuff however is shocking and it's good to see the league has backed down and will discuss at their meeting later this month.

Hola Isthmian amigos.

Been a while since I posted in here. My return has absolutely nothing to do with beating Macclesfield 4-0 yesterday. Nothing at all.

Hayden Bird has certainly endeared himself to the K's faithful, after a slightly rocky start (still better than Dynan managed at least) we seem to have found some momentum & it's beginning to look like his winning formula from Merstham is working in Tolworth. Our league table position is still looking a bit low for my liking, I'm not expecting play offs this year but upper mid table would be the minimum expectation in my opinion. We've played a game less than most & that game in hand will increase due to our continued involvement in all the cups.

Speaking of cups, that leads me nicely on to talking about the cups. It is November & we have yet to be dumped out of any cup competition. Usually by now we've been beaten out of all cups, usually by a team in a lower league but no - we're in to the FA Cup 2nd Round, we have an FA Trophy game on Wednesday, still in the Surrey Senior Cup & most importantly of all we still have yet to enter the globally famous Alan Turvey World Championship Cup due to the change in format this year.

I wouldn't normally view the Velocity Trophy as worthy of comment here but Hastings beat East Grinstead 12-3 tonight with forward Davide Rodari scoring 8!

Here's one (the only) cup competition I dont want K's to have a run in this season!

I've never understood why the step 3/4 leagues need their own version of the Checkatrade Trophy when you already have the county cup (which teams at that level seem to take seriously) and in some counties a charity cup as well.

Not as bad as the Essex Senior League though which has two league cups for some reason, alongside County cup and County charity cup! (and FA Cup and Vase)

In the Greater London area some teams even compete for the senior county cup in London AND in their historical county. We had a period of being in the London & Surrey cups.

The league cups can be useful, if you are having a good season in the league/proper cups it's an opportunity to experiment with fringe/youth players (especially if you dont run a reserve team set up) while if you are tanking in the league it's a chance for some silverware & a few more meaningful fixtures throughout the season.

I just want Kingstonian knocked out of it as soon as possible otherwise it eats in to our midweek dates that we've already had to postpone a fair amount of league games too due to our success in the FA Cup & FA Trophy this season.

Why is the Isthmian such a magnet for these fruitcake rich owners with delusions of grandeur?

Almost every year we get some jumped up money bags attempting to buy their way through league... Margate, Whitehawk, Billericay, us (as spectacularly as we failed, our 2018/19 squad did not come cheap!), Romford & now East Thurrock. I'm sure I've even missed some out.
