The council have identified some land for us back in Kettering itself. As far as i am aware the purchasing paperwork/planning is still ongoing at the moment. Can't really see us playing there for about 3-4 years, but things may progress quicker than that.
Extra turnstiles and seating will have to be installed at Latimer Park by March.....otherwise we will be demoted back to the Southern League.
Pity you couldn’t bring over the main stand from Rockingham Road. Still one of the biggest in size in non-league football.

Earlier post mentioned 10-ish teams contesting for the Playoffs.
I think you can count us out.
If we can finish top half, then it will be a successful season, as far as I am concerned.

Last time I was at Rockingham Road for a match between Kettering and R & Diamonds just before Kettering moved into Nene Park the whole ground looked quite decrepit. I imagine its a housing estate now?

Our game against Guiseley is off next week due to international call ups. We love a postponed game.

That happened to us last season with Nuneaton. We had a total of 11 Saturdays free from football due to all sorts of postponements including a flood at our ground, cup ties and Solihull not knowing they needed a safety certificate for work they'd carried out. We finished 3 points of the play-offs and that was the main reason I suspect.

As far as i am aware planning permission was granted for housing months ago, but at the moment there is just a wide open space there.

How is the pitch looking at the Deva for tomorrow? Have you had the last deluge over in Chester as we have in Derbyshire?

The pitch stands up really well to rainfall so should be no problem on that score fingers crossed.

We're up to 6 Saturdays including this weekend and next weekend If we have a bad trophy run we could be missing more as well. And it looks it's gonna be a cold winter as well so could be even more postponements as well.

Back to winning ways, rubbish game though in tough conditions.

Our last goal was weird, scored straight from a corner only to have it ruled out for a push. Their player then kicks the ball in frustration which only goes to Elliott who puts it in the net again. Ref deemed it as taking the free kick but he was actually just kicking it back towards the centre circle thinking it's a goal and kick off again. :ffs:

The worst home performance of the season by us today. Absolutely dire. I'm convinced Paul Cox went in the home dressing room by mistake pre-match!

We have completely lost our way. Your fans are questioning with good reason why we were 10th before kick off.
The goals given away today were embarrassing.
Dont reckon Chester where must cop but you didnt have to be beat us. The third farcial goal summed us up.

Well after nearly 2 months without a win we got back to winning ways, a 3-0 win against the anti-football team.

Darlington's keeper had a complete mare in the FA Cup - both goals his fault. Hope he keeps up that form on Saturday - Brackley have scored 1 goal in 4 games, so we need all the help we can get...

Our threadbare squad was edged out in a tight game at Spennymoor, with few chances for either side. They scored when we let Glen Taylor have the freedom of the pitch, and found the bottom corner unopposed from 20 yards. Our luck was typified with two shots on goal both being blocked by one of our own players (one with his face, whilst already being down on the ground).

Spennymoor will be up there, they looked solid, well-organised, and were difficult to break down. What we do depends on what reinforcements we bring in. By my reckoning we only had 1 fully fit and capable outfield player on the bench yesterday. Having to bring Adam Carden back (he wasn't good enough for us 8 years ago, so I doubt he is now at 34 years old) shows how desperate the situation is.

That's about right for King's Lynn. They had some right neanderthals that came up to the flimsy barrier separating us from them in our recent game.

The response from some of their fans on twitter is appalling. 2 fans were apparently kicked out.

Decent 1-1 draw away at Farsley but another ridiculously early goal conceded by us. The 12th of this season within the opening ten minutes (this one was within the opening seconds!).

Hopefully by the Kettering game we should have a few more players back.

A trip to Edgar Street tonight to face Hereford FC for Alfreton

Just like last season`s visit we arrive completely out of form ravaged by injures and low on confidence.

We need to arrest the slide quickly but I can only see another defeat. Reece Styche guaranteed to score.

Styche wasn't even in the squad for tonight's match. I think they might get shot of him.

Well that was a very pleasant surprise last night!

Billy finally dropped Charlie Andrew in goal and went back to the formation which had served us so well in August and boy did it pay off.

An all round solid performance. Chalk and cheese to the performance at Chester.

We were unlucky to concede the goal we did and it was great to see Amari back in the goals in the league after a lean spell.

Says a lot about this league that after losing 5 of our last 6 one good performance puts back in the play offs.

Much more like it last night and we need to keep it going with the visit of Gloucester City on Saturday if it beats the weather which is looking unlikely with the forecast and us hosting a England U17 fixture the night before.

Would have expected Hereford to be challenging this season, but they looked awful when we played them about 10 weeks ago. Underachieving massively.

Seems to be the nature of the league this season apart from the top 2 there’s no consistency in the league, teams are very good one week then terrible the next.

Whats the weather like your way DarkSithLord ? Seems to stop mid day Friday in Alfreton.

There's a coach booked for Saturday but pissing down here and snowing in some places since yesterday, imagine it's been worse there?

Torrential rain all day here and some flooding in surrounding areas but Alfreton seems unaffected. Took me 2 and a half hours to get home from work.

The thing is there is a England Under 17 international tomorrow night at the ground v Denmark. I am hopeful that will be on but not sure about the game on Saturday. we shall see

Well shocked Mike Cook has stood down as Gloucester manager!
