KC shouldn't be too worried at this stage. Were just starting to get a little rhythm going on that drive at least and if there is one team who can overcome any deficit in double quick time it's them.

Robinson has to make the adjustment to catch that though, very careless from him.

Oh man what a wild second Quarter from the Chiefs 24-0 down in the Second Quarter now they are within a field goal I can see a good Offensive slug fest in the Second half.

Looks like BOB gave a really inspirational half time speech to his team...

Always felt he was at best limited as a HC.

That is such terrible coaching there. Was an obvious go for it on fourth scenario and BOB wasn't prepared for it and burnt a timeout in the process.

Houston won't move on but he is wasting Watson and Hopkins careers the longer he stays there.

Great from KC though, at their explosive best in the second quarter.

Playoff Predictioso Update #2 - aka loathe the Ravens forevermore

Well after the first round when the Vikings really only fucked Tom and Abers, the Ravens only went and fucked the majority of us in the divisional round. Or maybe they came up against a better team on the day and it wasn't their fault? I guess when I began writing this I didn't remember the Titans.

Anyway, here's your scores from this week. Tom and Abers scored a bonus point for predicting the Texans Chiefs game from the off. Everyone else scored one per game and one per over/under.

Tom 2 (games correct) + 1 (aforementioned bonus point) + 2 (over/unders)
Abers 3 + 1 + 4
Creg 2 + 3
Kieran 3 + 2
Pride 'o Notts 2 + 2
MBExFM 3 + 4
#stagat 3 + 3
Lightweight Andy 3 + 2

With those added to what we scored (or didn't score) last week here's our leaderboard:

Leaderboard!

1. Abers 11pts --- (3 week one + 8 week two)
2. Tom 8pts --- (3 + 5)
2. MBExFM 8pts --- (1 + 7)
4. #stagat 7pts --- (1 + 6)
5. Creg 6pts --- (1 + 5)
5. Kieran 6pts --- (1 + 5)
7. Pride o' Notts 5pts --- (1 + 4)
7. Lightweight Andy 5pts --- (0 + 5)

Championship Sprint

Okay, pretty simple this time around as we whittling down the teams. Here's what you need to do:

1. re-predict any games you didn't have in your path to the SB from last time round
2. predict the total scores for the 2 championship games. Two points per bang on prediction, 1 point for being within 7 (i.e. if you predict 40 you get 1 point if it's 33 or 47).

Tom_CUFC pride_of_notts Craig - please re-predict both the Championship games and the SB AND do the total scores for these Championship games

Aberstone kieran_vale @LightweightAndy @MBExFM @me - please re-predict the AFC side of the draw up to and including the SB AND do the total scores for these Championship games

I'll do mine here:

49ers Packers - 50 total points
Chiefs Titans - 59 total points

49ers Chiefs

Game notes

Might make the week 2 over/under a bit more than 35 if we do this again next year.

If ever there was a slight doubt about Burrow going number 1 in the draft they disappeared last night. Heisman Trophy winner and also winning the National Championship is not bad going.

Been saying it for a couple months When LSU took down Bama that nailed it down for me No1 and No2 picks are nailed on for me in Burrow and Young I think Lions at No3 could be really interesting to see what they do I can see them puting it on the trade block Dolphins would be the obvious choice as partner I reckon.

I've picked the Chiefs, but I'm not entirely convinced, they're talking a lot of smack and I'm not sure that's a particularly streetwise move against a team who've been heavy underdogs in their last two playoff games.

LADS!!!!

What do I do here? kieran_vale

Congratulations Craig enjoy it. Pleased for you.

As for the game itself be prepared to go through every single possible emotion you can think of. I remember making myself very unpopular with my neighbours the night we beat Seattle with Butlers goal line interception with my quite loud celebrations at about 3am.

Yeah Congrats Hoping to see 49ers in the Superbowl as I think it would be really interesting to see the Chiefs Offense match up against that Nasty 49ers Defence especially that front 7.

No offence to the masses of Titans and Packers fans on here but very glad we have the Superbowl we do. Highest quality and most interesting match up it could have been after those two games this weekend. Unless the Chiefs go up big early I don't see how it won't be fascinating.

Goddamn Kieran's going death or glory and I love it.

Live update on this prediction, in the end I chose death!!

As for the Super Bowl itself will be a great clash of styles. One thing the Niners will need to do is figure out a way to take Kelce out of the game. I’d suggest hitting him hard at the line and accepting there will be penalty flags thrown occasionally would be a start.

I make KC the favourite in this more so basically because I trust the ball in Mahomes hands far more than I do Jimmy G. I can see the latter being prone to a turnover or two.

Playoff Predictaphone Update #3 - aka 59 points in the AFC game booiiiii!

I'm gonna come straight out the gate with this. Only one predictiosi got a total game score spot on. And that person was... me! Thanks.

Lots of 2s and 3s scored with Kieran being an outlier scoring just 1 (boo hoo) and another outlier (me!) scoring 6. Yesssss!

Anyroad, here's this week's numbers, in the order of AFC winner (me and Abers and MBExFM scored 2 coz our predictions rolled on from the last round) and total, then NFC winner and total:

me 2 (chiefs) + 2 (score bang on) + 1 (49ers) + 1 (score within 7)
Kieran 0 + 1 + 0 + 0
Abers 2 + 1 + 1 + 0
Pride o' Notts 1 + 0 + 1 + 0
Lightweight Andy 1 + 1 + 0 + 0
Tom 1 + 1 + 0 + 0
MBExFM 2 + 1 + 1 + 0
Creglington 1 + 1 + 0 + 1

With those added to what we scored in the last two weeks here's our leaderboard:

Leaderbored!

1. Abers 15pts --- (3 week one + 8 week two + 4 week three)
2. #stagat 13pts --- (1 + 6 + 6)
3. MBExFM 12pts --- (1 + 7 + 4)
4. Tom 10pts --- (3 + 5 + 2)
5. Creg 9pts --- (1 + 5 + 3)
6. Kieran 7pts --- (1 + 5 + 1)
6. Pride o' Notts 7pts --- (1 + 4 + 2)
6. Lightweight Andy 7pts --- (0 + 5 + 2)

The Very Good Strigiformes:

Okay, very simple this time. Predict the Superbowl winner if you need to and predict the score and the score difference (which doesn't have to match your score prediction).

1 point for the winning team, 3 points for score bang on, 2 points for score difference bang on.

kieran_vale @lightweightandy Tom_CUFC Craig - please re-predict the Superbowl and the final score and the score difference.

@me Aberstone pride_of_notts @MBExFM - please predict the Superbowl final score and the score difference.

I'll do mine here:

- 49ers Chiefs (already from last round)
- 35 v 31
- 4pts difference

Game notes

59 points in the AFC game!

Please don't just match my predictions and coast to the win Abers. I'm watching you.

Since you bring up Kelce, it's the best two TEs in the league facing off too, wouldn't you say? Another nice sub-plot to the game.

Two very likeable teams IMO. I'd have been happy for either of them to win it at the start of the season. Now I'll just feel bad for whoever has to lose as well.

Not sure about that 49ers Is where I would put the money on that Defence is scary especially the Pass rush it will be interesting to see if the 49ers can consistantly get at Mahomes like they did Rodgers.I would agree you do trust Mahomes to do it more than Jimmy G but as we seen againt the Packers Jimmy G was really not that important given he passed 8 times the whole game.

49ers - Chiefs
34 - 26
8 point difference

I certainly agree about the Niners front, it is as good as I can remember seeing. Even so Mahomes is much more mobile than Rodgers at this point in his career and frankly he has better weapons outside of Davante Adams. The question will be how the Niners secondary holds up as they are largely zone and the likes of Hill and Hardman have the speed just to go right through that. To have any hope of stopping that KC offense you need to bump them at the line and disrupt their routes, that’s when they can get to Mahomes. That and maybe bracketing Kelce too, can’t allow him the sort of free releases the Titans were especially on third down.

If the Niners do succeed in shutting them down or slowing them then a couple of franchises who just changed coaches should be looking long and hard at themselves why they didn’t give Robert Saleh a chance.
