This is my first match thread, I hope it's okay and on the right sub-forum.

This should be a cracker of a match!

PSG play tomorrow I think. Massive advantage with Chelsea having such a long break. Losing to Bradford at home may have been a blessing in disguise.

But the Clash of the two Oil Giants will be decided by one man...Zlatan Ibrahimovic!

Apparently they've picked up 7 injuries. Not Ibra though :(

Beat them last season with a side much weaker than the one we have now....and they were in much better form.

I'll take a score draw but we have more than enough about us to take a lot more than that.

Ok, now that I've watched our game against Caen here are my two pence before we fail miserably.

Officially, the players who are going to miss this game will be Cabaye, Aurier and Lucas. Now the former two isn't the end of the world as they aren't starters but Lucas is a big loss. I don't know who we will start against Azpilicueta but Lucas would have been a big problem for him. There goes my dream of playing with actual wingers instead of the ineffective LW Edinson Cavani (whom Ivanovic will eat alive no problem).
However, word on twitter is that Thiago Motta is also missing. Now I wouldn't mind that much but Cabaye is also missing which means that we'd have to play a trio of Verratti, Matuidi and someone else who definitely doesn't have the shoulders for that type of game. It will either be Rabiot, who will get torn a new one by Fabregas, or Pastore, who I'd rather have on the wing. It is a very problematic position as we talking about the center midfielder of our flat 3. The one who is supposed to keep Fabregas quiet. So please let Thiago Motta start this one tomorrow. We need him.

If we do start with Motta here's what I think will be our line-up
Sirigu - Van der Wiel, Thiago Silva, David Luiz, Maxwell - Verratti, Thiago Motta, Matuidi - Pastore, Ibra, Cavani.

We're doomed.

Looking forward to it though.

Cech/Courtois

Ivan Zouma Terry Azpilicueta

Ramires Matic

Willian Fabregas Hazard

Costa

That's what I expect. Cahill may start ahead of Zouma. I'm pretty confident.

So PSG lose Cabaye, Aurier, Lucas and Motta to injury while Chelsea have to make do without...John Obi Mikel.

True that.

Last good performance we had was Swansea away. We've had good results since but the performances have been a bit sloppy.

Can see this being pretty close, 1-1 perhaps. Though I can see Mourinho shutting up shop completely with the 2nd leg in mind.

Verrati is a sublime talent, and distributes for deep, so it's his responsibility to limit the influence Matic has on this match. I think Matuidi is brilliant, but I see Cesc and Oscar dominating that midfield battle. Costa vs. Luiz should be interesting.

2-1 for Chelsea.

Wouldn't knock him for doing so either, boring is effective in many cases.
Of course. It's no coincidence we've been the best English team in Europe for the past few years. (Pre Jose as well)

Looking forward to this even though it'll probably end up being a huge disappointment.

Ibra and Costa are both fit and available for selection, right? lets hope they clash at some point during the match.

PSG's twitter account is beyond embarrassing!

Anyway back to the game.. Think PSG will sneak a win. They're strong at home, the fans need to back the team and hope Ibra can be bothered!
