No one has bothered to start a thread about this one. I know there aren't a lot of Crawley fans on this board, so they're excused but there are quite a few Amber Army on here so I can only assume that no one is looking forward to this match. And why should we when Crawley are one of our bogey teams. A quick look at the last ten meetings (six in the connie/2 in L2/ two Cup games)between the two clubs show 7 wins for Creepy and 3 draws. We also failed to score in either one of last season's games :ffs:

The law of averages says that it's about time we beat them, but sadly, I think the LOA is a load of bull.

2-0 defeat, and another meltdown on our forum to commence at roughly 3.35pm.

I'm working on (and probably failing on) avoiding all of the above.

I'd probably rather win here than at Dover but we won't win either and November looks horrible from where I'm sitting.

You never know - this may be the match where everything falls into place. Wouldn't bet on it though.

If we don't win either then I think the board will be under impossible pressure..... They'll have to sack Derry then.

Excellent win, very pleased and hope it leads to a good run for the team and Derry.

At least we can look forward to the upcoming games with a little bit of optimism now. The most pleasing aspect of today was that we didn't fold after their early goal, and at a ground where we always struggle too, so it was great that heads didn't drop.

Now the little problem of the cup replay. If it were up to me I'd go with the strongest side possible , or very close to. But thing is, strongest side or not, I'm not expecting us to go 2 nil up and then take off 3 of our most important players. So I really don't know, but one thing's for sure and that's making the second round sees the club make some decent money, including the money from the tv coverage too.

Fantastic and a much needed win at a ground that isn't usually kind to us. It will certainly take a bit of pressure off Derry and the boys going into Thursday's game.

The issue we have here is Uche's fitness. He's key to what we're about and I'm not sure he has two games in three days in his locker at the moment but with our other striking options we have no choice.

I would take a defeat at Dover for three points 48 hours later but let's just enjoy the 3 points today.

I'll take two wins please :2thumb:

But seriously, I think I rather we beat Dover and then hopefully get a point against Wycombe. I know the league's more important, but I'd like us to avoid another cup defeat to a part time(???) non-league side.

A good game to miss.

When Davey plays we leak goals. It's not all his fault but opposition players seem to get chances to pressure us, rob us of the ball and generally score when he is in the team.

More injuries for us in the match. Connolly could be a big miss and when a player is subbed so close to half time I do tend to worry.

Cambridge can only beat what's In front of them and it seems they did it without too much trouble today.

I'm going to open the wine now!

Gutted I missed this one - seeing Greg score has been a long standing ambition.

Derry's limitations aside, the team are obviously playing for him but, like a few others, our home form/tactics are what will see him stay or go.

Big decision on how to get the maximum out of Uche and H over the next 3 matches. I'd also be going for the win on Thursday and take it from there.

Of course we go to Dover and we bust everything trying to win there. Unsure why anyone would think otherwise.

Obviously at this point Dover will be favourites for the replay, but if we win we're either a winnable/appealing 2nd round home tie away from the 3rd round. More chance of us getting to round three than improving consistently enough to match our initial play off ambitions.

That said, cracking three points yesterday, what a peace from Berry. What marvellously ''lower half of league two'' play for the other goals. Lump it to the beast and crack on.

Because I don't see Uche and, to a lesser extent Dunk, playing two games in the space of 48 hours. I'm also unsure on those other players like Berry who give it their all when playing a match. I used to play a bit of footy myself, and even though I was at the prime of my life and taking good care of my body, I'd run out of breath by ht of the second match, as did all the others esp.the midfielders. It's not that demanding when you're on the front front, but tracking back is very tiring. But this is well known to all those who follow footy - all sides like to play on the front foot whenever possible as chasing your opponents tires you out more.

Now, does anyone have the slightest doubt on the way Wycombe (if their manager knows what's he's doing) will approach Saturday's match? They'll tear into us from the first minute.
