I've never seen an animal throw a flare.

I'm sorry, what does fighting with your own fans make you? What does chucking flares that could potentially hit your own players or lobbing flash bangs that could have injured stewards or others make them? Makes them animals in my book. Why, what would you call them?

It's all a bit divvy, isn't it. But then the point is that things can't just be a 'little bit divvy', nowadays, can they. We have to press the moral absolutes, where people are fucking SCUM for doing things that are admittedly inappropriate, maybe, gasp, even potentially dangerous. This is to ignore the fact that that it sounds like this was politically motivated, in which case my interest has been successfully piqued.

What's the Spanish centreback got to do with any of this?

So what you're saying is, the cause justifies the action?

Sorry, there are things I think you can overlook as silly, but ultimately not worth getting worked up over. But fighting amongst fans with no doubt kids in the crowd getting caught up in it, throwing flares that could cause serious injury and letting off flash bangs that clearly hurt one steward isn't something you just pass off as a "little bit divvy". Don't care what their cause is, there are ways and means of protesting that don't involve throwing flares and flash bangs and getting into scraps with each other.

Maybe this seems like hysterical nonsense to you, but I disagree. I think its downright dangerous and idiotic behaviour that was lucky didn't cause serious injuries.

In the grand scheme of things, it's not a big deal is it? Talk about overreaction.

Odd response. On that basis, 99% of the things we have an emotional response to in life are overreactions surely?

I don't think you saw my post mate but I wanted to know what your favourite animal was. Now I know you mentioned the cat but you didn't specify if it was your favourite.

I meant in comparison to other events involving fans at this tournament. A few flares were thrown on the pitch and there was a bit of a disturbance in the crowd - big deal.

i like cats and dogs mainly. one of my best mates is a labrador, he's a right laugh him. and i have 2 cats though they don't live with me anymore. it's very difficult for me to talk about that so i hope you'll respect my privacy on the matter. tbh i couldn't choose between the two, they're both great and that. dogs for their unconditional loyalty and general derpiness, and cats cos they respect nowt and would probably eat your face 5 minutes after you died given the chance. would have to say my favourite non-owned animal (can we ever truly own an animal?) is probably the meerkat, not them sellouts who work for compare the market though. c***.

what about you mate?

I like (and respect) all the animals mate. I've always been a dog person but since I got my cat (the one who had the anus trouble) he has converted me to a cat person. I like all the rodents too. Great banter with them if you earn their trust mate. Just watch the dwarf ones, they are hard as nails and you don't want to cross them.

Sorry to hear about your cat problems mate but I am going to respect your privacy on that mate - you've earnt that much mate.

Yeah his arse is great now mate, he doesn't have a colon anymore but he told me that he has come to realise that it was only holding him back all along anyway and he feels a sense of freeness now that he never thought possible.

I'll pass on your kind words, he always appreciates them.

smashing news mate, i'm pleased he's taking the positives from the situation and getting on with his life. animals are great when it comes to stuff like that. check this fella out for example...

couldn't give less of a shit about his loss, could he? then you have knobs like heather mills on gmtv whinging about losing one leg 20 years after the fact. makes you think doesn't it.

Only managed to watch bits of the game but Croatia looked in total control from what I saw, and had a great chance to make it 3-0 which I'm guessing they wish they'd taken now. Good fight from the Czechs and certainly gives them hope of qualifying now, a win against Turkey and Spain beating Croatia could even see them make it through in 2nd. Croatia have made this harder than it needed to be now.

Here's one for Jockney.

The Croatian head coach has described the protesting fans as 'terrorists'
