So Steve Chettle's last game tonight before Neal Ardley takes charge, and we could really do with three points to keep in touch with the teams above us before the new man's first match at Mansfield, where we never get anything.

Boldewijn is out which is a loss going forwards, although it might actually make us a bit more solid in midfield. Hopefully Stead and Hemmings back to make up for the Boldewijn miss. Absolutely no idea how we will line up tbh.

Carlisle seem pretty good away but not so good at home? Adam Collin will get a warm reception from the Kop!

I reckon 2-1 either way...

Feel like we've picked a good time to be playing you. The last game of a caretaker manager, with the incoming manager watching rarely seems to go well for that side.

A few among our contingent will feel they have a point to prove, because you know us and Notts are joined at the hip these days. Adam Campbell, if he features probably feels he has plenty to prove.

Ardley will be watching (like most Carlisle fans) on ifollow from dubai as he doesn't come back until today but will be still travelling during the night. Into Wednesday.

I would imagine Cox will be present though at least in the stands if not the dugout.

I think some of our players may want to prove a point too as some of them might not see the first team again after tonight.

I think it is, although we sounded better at Morecambe on Saturday than the Cheltenham debacle. Kristian Dennis seems to be finding a bit of form, which is good to see. Our line-up could almost literally be anything.

We’ve lost to Macclesfield, Morecambe, Yeovil, Grimsby. All games against struggling teams.

If we play like we did in those games, Notts County will win comfortably. When we are bad we are dreadful and anyone in any league position will beat us.

Our away form is good, but barring a few games I think there’s been a fair bit of luck involved. I can’t see that lasting much longer to be honest and I think Notts county will look at our lack of quality and see this as a great chance to get their season going ready for their new manager.

A wet miserable night with four of our first choice attacking options probably out beckons. Really should be Carlisles to win tonight.

Watching on ifollow.

First half has been total dominance in terms of possession, but absolutely no end product. The lack of quality in our final third is clear for all to see. Sheridan has to make strengthening that area in January number 1 priority.

It’s looking like 0-0 or a 1-0 home win.

...and we take the lead from our 5th shot. You have had 19 so far (us now 7)
Surely with that much posession, attempts and corners you have to get something (hope not though, no offence)

These late goals are most amusing.

Because we’re absolutely shite in the final third.

Felt we deserved the draw at least tonight, but boy are we frustrating to watch. Pass pass pass sideways backwards sideways backwards sideways then either take a tame shot or get into the box and pass pass pass again until we waste it.

Absolutely toothless.

I presume that Hellogregory was the one who messaged BBCRC to say that we're in a battle for survival.

I don't think we are. In an average quality division at this level. we'd have just enough to stay out of the mire with a few squeaky bum moment, and this is a poor quality division this season, I think we're in for some top drawer mediocrity.

While I think we've done well to be where we are given the car crash of a summer we had with the handling of player and staff contracts, late appointments, financial uncertainty and budget-cutting, the mediocrity is certainly wearing thin... mostly because we've been at our worst at home, but still *sigh* big picture, I think we'll stay up fairly easily.

We seem to find a different way of being crap each time we play, but Bennett's miss at the end (I was listening on the radio, didn't have i-follow... driving) kinda sums it up. Sometimes it's defence that lets us down, sometimes midfield, sometimes creating chances, but we always manage to fluff a couple of golden opportunities.

No it wasn’t me. I don’t message Radio Cumbria, ever.

Bennett’s headed chance was a shocking effort. He needs to be gone in January, fucking useless.

We definitely didn’t deserve to lose so an equaliser was merited. We played the better football and mostly dominated but sadly yet again the lack of quality in the final third let us down.

Phhhh,,that was terrible, again. First half we should have been dead and buried.
second half we go more direct , Hewitt steams through , wins a corner and scores from it after a scramble.
We then sit back and wait for Carlisle to inevitably equalise, then bring on a centre half. The negativity from Chettle was pathetic, the man's a total fanny.
Second bottom, three points off bottom and deservedly so and we're playing one up and five in defence at home by the end.
Really hope Ardley hasn't got teeny tiny girl balls like Chettle had tonight.

I know, just think if you could just manage to participate for the whole 90 you might win!

We would definitely of won, the stats back that up lol.

Three very winnable games against fellow rabble, 2 points! Awful time to be with a temporary internal man in charge and a squad with next to no confidence and 5 key players out

That's 20 points we have lost from winning positions now (highest in the league I think), which I suppose at least gives Ardley a starting point. We are more than capable of taking the lead, if Ardley can work on tightening us up we should be ok. Another ridiculous amount of shots conceded last night tho -24! So he has some work to do.

I still think we just look like a team which isn’t being coached or managed at all. It’s the second time in four days where we’ve lost two points through Chettle not making the obvious changes - we were being hammered down our right all night, it was crazy that he didn’t turn to Tootle from the bench, an actual natural right back.

I remain reasonably confident that if Ardley can just drill in some absolute basics around defensive shape, game management etc we’ll be absolutely fine.
