Barrow rested Rooney and Quigley - they will be a completely different proposition when we face them in the league fixture.

A bit harsh, I wasn’t here at today’s match but Adams has played well in recent matches.

First half Bees v Barrow, was awful we (barnet) couldn't of played worse if we tried. Barrow obviously rested some, not sure if that was their first choice defence and keeper but my god they were slow and clumsy. We gave a debut to Xander macburnie but he was well off the pace which gave Barrow an extra man in midfield... Lacking our Captain James Dunne we were short of aggression.

Medy Elito came on second half and ran the midfield... Akinola sprung to life and we gave them a battering.

Look forward to the league game v them I'm sure they won't fancy it.
Barrow rested their front 3 (Quigley, Angus and Rooney,) the keeper (Dixon), Both wing backs (Kay and Barry) and Sam Hird from central defence - they also switched to 433 from 532.The league game will be a whole different ball game.

2 defeats on the bounce for Barrow:eek:
yeah the same thing happened in October when we lost in the League and FA Cup then started an 18 match unbeaten run by beating Dagenham... We play Dagenham at home next week.

Delighted to be in the hat on Monday.
We've not had much to cheer about for a good long while so it would be great to actually win something or just to get to Wembley.
Ardley sounded right up for it after the game, unusual for him.

But it’s February now, not October, squeaky bum time and you’ve now got expectations.

Not saying there’s a bottle job on the cards, just that it’s important you beat Dog and Duck.

Dreadful today. Simply didn’t want it enough. Outfought rather than outplayed. Some of those players should be ashamed of themselves

Inevitable. :)

Halifax result is surprising.
Halesowen are seriously financially doped and have already beaten Maidenhead in this competition this season, so I wouldn't say it's too surprising.

Didn't realise they were bankrolled, takes the shine off it a bit. Their win against us was largely down to us fielding our 5'10"-ish youth team keeper as our only fit keeper was ineligible due to being a loanee who wasn't with us when the first tie was played. He made glaring errors for their goals.

You can't use the excuse of playing the reserves.

Shit like Halesowen are having a go now are they.

I’ll need to update the Evil List.

They LOOKED like a National League side- you expect teams from their level to have shed loads of the physically smaller players, deemed too light for the higher league, (but not necessarily lacking in ability), but such as there were any of those type of players on the pitch , they were in our team. I noticed the same phenomenon, when we played bankrolled Brackley in the NL North a few years back, they all had Football League physiques. Notwithstandig any of that though, they were the better team and won well.:ds:

Halesowen actually have a fan base of sorts though. Think they get 7 or 800 which is still more than some teams get or have got here and that was before they were bankrolled.

Why are you talking about your own team in the 3rd person?

Your unbeaten run started after a loss to us back in October, could it now be the reverse with your current losing run starting after a victory against us?

Looks like 18 games without a win incoming ;)

Woeful footballer. Never seen a more technically inept midfielder. Charges around and throws himself into tackles and fans seem to love it. He breaks down so many attacks with poor passes. Shouts abuse at everyone else for his mistake. Passes sideways constantly. Can't wait for the summer when he's gone

Put some further research into our ‘worst run of draws’ experience in this. Fylde away this round, so we can go there twice in five days, then Barnet in the semis so we have to play them three Saturdays in a row. It’s happening.

Do you put a star on your shirt if you win this?
We did it for a 120 year old FA Cup win, so we have got form.

I’d say the majority of our fans have slowly come round to the trophy now, yesterday’s 9-man win was certainly pretty well received. Our win at Chesterfield in the first round definitely seemed to kick start our excellent form over Christmas and NY following a very indifferent spell, and Michael Doyle’s last gasp wonder goal v Daggers in the last round kept the momentum going. I think yesterday’s win might have a similar effect, although the run has come at a bit of a cost with Jim O’Brien receiving a nasty injury at Chesterfield (not that it really affected our league form, as mentioned), and Damien McCrory and Wes Thomas getting injured/sent off yesterday. Plus our wounded are piling up now and we’re going to have a bit of fixture congestion between now and the last day. However it’s been enjoyable at times - definitely be nice to get a ‘minnow’ in the QF tho.
