Congratulations to all their fans. Our first home friendly is against them, and will certainly be a tough test.

Was at the match tonight. They sure are a club going places and the stadium opening next week is just going to push them further.

Commiserations. It's everyone's worst nightmare to end up in a league where they have to go to Solihull, Nuneaton and Brackley. I hope you get out of this predicament sharpish.

Went to watch them against Matlock once, Good day out and met some decent people. Don't entirely agree with them fucking off and leaving their club, Especially when alot still support Man Utd aswell but each to their own and all that. Good luck to them. With the money knocking about even in the Conf North these days it will take alot to get out of that Division!

Yay another team with a bigger budget to finish above us.

Don't know where this everyone's favourite bull has come from. Plenty of finacially stricken local teams in the lower leagues that the disillusioned fans could have got behind and put some money through the turnstiles of. In the end its turned out that the Glazers are actually pretty decent owners definitely compared to most in the Premier League.

Well done to them, but I hope they don't go any higher for the reasons the poster above said.

We had some great games against them when we were in Evo Stik. We don't like them because for a reason I've forgotten they boycotted us 3 years ago. We always won our games though. Especially remember the game at Bury, where with some dodgy reffing decisions they were winning 2-1 with not long to go, but we ended up winning with the legend George Horan scoring winner at the death.

I believe it was a tongue in cheek comment in the opening post, possible a self-imposed title. Don't you know they invented non-league football...

That said they've actually become far more likable in more recent seasons. Or maybe it's just because I've had no interaction with their fans. They certainly initially had a "bigger than everyone else around" air to the fanbase, but from my limited knowledge that's died off.

Congratulations of course to them. Should be an epic attendance when the two of you play each other!

They'd have a torrid time of it in the Conference National or whatever it'll be called by that time.

No idea whether to charge £10 or £17 in, boycotting almost every away ground for their ticket prices, BT moving kickoff times, stewards that aren't 12-year-olds with "response team" written on the backs of their vests in biro, constant fines for letting off smoke bombs, dealing with fanbases of more than 200...

I've heard one or two of them say they never want to reach the football league which is very tinpot. They might get drowned out by all the
bankrolled teams in the Conference but it'd be good if they continued to be proactive in the face of these things.

Congratulations of course to them. Should be an epic attendance when the two of you play each other!

More likely they'll boycott it over the £15 admission.

How many times do we have to say why they didn't support another local side. They wanted their own club so they could run it their way.

You must be a Corby fan for the day on Saturday, presuming you prefer to be in the Conference South!

Welcome to the forum too!

Hopefully Stockport fans will stick around/become more active. Might also see an influx of one or more FCUM fans. Once we've got things going, could always go on the hunt for more clubs fans to come in!

The only people that actually like FCUM are the people that have never had to play them.

Their attitude and arrogance is unbelievable.

Oh and the fact they shat all over the principles they started the club on at the first sign of a bit of cash.

Rubbish. Most newly formed clubs don't get the luxury of starting at such a relatively high level. It struck and still does strike as a load of dummy-spitting attention seekers. They can shove their "principles" when they've pushed out of promotion many Manchester-area football clubs with a lot of history, to get where they are. Put it this way- would you be saying the same thing if most of the top clubs' fans decided they were "disillusioned" and started their own teams and you had a Conference North and South full of FC United of Newcastle's and FC United of West Ham's. It would be an absolute farce. Just look at their name! No time for them. Little better than MK Dons in my eyes.

What happens IF they ever fly up the leagues and put the prices up? Protest club against the protest club? It's all a bit inception.

What are you talking about?, FC united had no say what level they were placed at.

And what difference does it make? the reason they didn't support another non club was because it wouldn't be theirs. That's a fact nothing you said argued against my initial post despite you stating it was rubbish.

As for a league full of FC types, yeah that would be terrible to have a division full of clubs run by the membership, rather than for corporate greed lol. There are plenty of disenfranchised fans and many thousands across the country who cannot afford to watch the premiership. An alternate league to me is my utopia

The club is owned by the fans, they vote regarding ticket prices as well as numerous other issues.

The prices will never fly up, as a supporter base I imagine they may decide to knock it up a couple of quid after a promotion to help compete at a higher level. FC were never set up to go back to the Premier league.

We have had 3 fab years in Conference North, visiting some great stadiums, some ex league clubs, Boston/Stockport etc.. but the time is right for us to play in the South, all more local and greater chance of promotion with our 3g pitch set up more favourably for Conference South.

Yes Corby fan on Saturday!

Completely different, are you blind?

Each of FC united's 4,125 members has put more money in for the club to use than the Glazers, who put none into mufc & have cost £700m.

But I guess some are pro modern football and won't understand, others get it, and so it goes....

I was merely commenting that the Glazers also just wanted a club to run their own way. May be run in completely different ways but I dont really give a shit about that. Couldn't care less what either Man Utd or FCUM do, they both mean nothing to me, and probably the same for most other fans.

I find the hatred of FCUM absolutely baffling.

There's a lingering resentment among some Alty fans, mostly as a result of a preseason game a few years ago in which a couple of sad old twats following FCUM started throwing punches at teenagers at an unsegregated match. I think it's probably time we all got over that, but at least it's a reason. People talking about the fans "abandoning" Manchester United? Do me a fucking favour.

I don't particularly want them to come up again because they'd be a team we'd struggle to compete with. But I wish them no ill will.
