Germany probably won't have many problems in the group phase (though is not being safe to predict something for Germany lately). I'm just a bit apprehensive with team rotation as in the friendlies it was clear a formation work better than another but think Low can manage his choice well. On the other hand Ukraine did well in their pre-Euro and can surprise although smaller chances.

Despite Germany's recent poor results I think they'll kick into gear for this one. Such a strong squad and Ukraine are probably the weakest side in the group, 3-1 German victory here.

Ukraine should be leading. Pyatov had little to do while Neuer pulled out a couple of worldies. Hummels isn't playing though.

Germany disorganised going forward as usual. Müller and Götze don't know what to do.

Germany disorganised all over really. Attacks have no fluency to them and defensively they look really ropey, especially down their right where most of Ukraine's openings have come from.

Ukraine's goalkeeper looks like a recovering heroin addict!

Kroos has upped his game in the second half and it shows. Ukraine aren't seeing any of the ball.

I think its safe to say that defence has the upper hand over attack with just 11 goals in the opening 7 games so far. Best game so far this though.

Ukraine will be disappointed if it's a set piece goal which beats them.

Ukraine should've had a pen when Neuer shoved that forward over, but deserved win for Germany. Great counter-attacking goal at the end.

Fantastic second half by Germany. By far their best since Brazil.

Shaky first half, but the Germans stepped it up in the 2nd half and easily saw it out in the end. Nice counter for the 2nd goal as well. They can be got at, do think against the better teams they might come a bit more unstuck. Ukraine are like a number of teams we've seen so far at this tournament, very little cutting edge upfront.

A single unitary authority for urban Dorset
Germany ever so close to doing their best impression of England by throwing away a win after dominating, with their own brand of comical defending. Nice foul by Neuer as well...

Schweinsteiger in running the length of the pitch to score and then the length back again celebrating completed more distance in a minute than Man United have seen in a season

Hummels wasn't playing mate. Mustafi is a liability at the back.

So far on my predictions. I have been denied perfect scores by Evras stupid tackle for the Romanian pen, Englands Heartbreaker and a super human clearance from Boateng....Fine margins.

They weren't exactly rock solid at the back in Brazil either. I'm sure Hummels will make a difference, but they looked somewhat rattled at times against a powderpuff Ukraine attack. What will they be like against the better teams?
