I wouldn’t pay for the Checkatrade games apart from the Stoke one. It’s as much as the ticket to go! First season when that was trialing IFollow it was a fiver for the games in that cup.

Yep, exactly! Re. your decision to watch the Stoke game, I may not agree with you but I do get it. The FA got this idea of pitting local rivals against each other to drum up interest and sadly it seems to be working, esp when the two rivals haven't met in the league for years.

Seems like I was wrong on the cost then, could be I misheard this chap I was having a pint with, or else he meant to say a tenner for two games.

Playing Everton U21's tonight. We've gone way too strong. Lowery, Wintle, Ng, Pickering and Nolan all playing. I will be fuming if any of them get seriously injured in this.

914 weirdos at the Abbey tonight, hopefully watching us go out to Arsenal B. Disappointing but not surprising, same as the Boro game will be.

Some big sides look to be going through. Leicester, Utd, City, Wolves, Everton, West Ham, Chelsea.
Are they still drawn away in the next round?
Be nice if two of them get to the final, might be the death knell for the competition

Finished 2-2. Niasse getting both Everton's. Ainley and Dale for us. We won on pens 5-4. Luckily thats is out of this competition at the group stage yet again. So far so good, out at the 1st hurdle every year since this format came in.

Attendance was 851 with 78 Evertonians

I went, purely to move on from saturdays atrocity. Mbulu is an improvement on Hunt I think. We played well, saw a shootout and won it, and we’re out of the competition. Perfect night I’d say.

It’s odd really, every time we play one of the U21 sides we cruise past them and they look absolutely dire! Yet some of these get through. Very weird.

Middlesborough last year was literally a training session, awful to watch (on the stream).

Things couldn't have gone more perfectly in this competition if we tried. Went out at the first hurdle for the 3rd straight year, but didn't lose the last 2, so no denting of the confidence. But we also 'won' those 2 games, so collect 2 rounds of prize money.

No idea why they started Ng, Pickering and Lowery, when Johnson, Adebisi and Finney were available to play instead. Nolan I get, you want to ease Mbulu in alongside our best defender, not Hunt. Just hope his rolled ankle isn't too serious.

Well, we are now 1 for 9(inside 90 minutes) in this competition since the format change. We used to regularly make runs in this competition before the change, now our effort has dropped to non-existent levels, as have the crowds.

Also embarrassing that the PL clubs continue to dump even further on this competition by starting out of favour non-British senior players as well. Further proof this format is dogshit and needs binning as soon as possible.

We are in the same group as Crewe and have lost both of our penalty shoot outs but a 90 minute win at Burton next week will see us through with the Everton youth.

With so many under 21s sides progressing then it's likely we will draw one of them in the next round. I presume under 21 sides can only play away in this competition even in the latter stages. Actually I've just realised that cant be the case as both under 21s teams could draw each other in the latter rounds.

Not sure how it works in terms of U21s exactly but it’s meant to be group winners at home, so a
Point Tuesday and we are at home to a runner up.

Drew 1-1 with Brighton U21s but won on pens. Wimbledon have to beat Southend next week either in normal time or pens to pip us through on goal difference as we both have 5 points.

This is the way to do it - win 2 games and still go out. Happy Days.

We should've won in normal time after dominating large spells of the second half and hitting the woodwork 4 times. Louis Dennis getting a confidence boosting goal, Fletcher badly needed this after Saturday.

709 in Attendance - Our lowest ever crowd with around 40 from Brighton with no segregation.

We're being outnumbered by Ipswich fans tonight, who have sold around 2,500 tickets for our game so the crowd will be about 3,000.

No game on Saturday could mean a stronger than normal side tonight, Jake Reeves could make an appearance for the first time in almost two years. A 3+ goal difference tonight sees us progress.

Newcastle kids tonight, beat them a couple years ago, we are through already but a draw sees us top the group and get a home tie in the knock out stage.

Even with huge changes we should win, with us through and playing Newcastle kids it may be another low attendance record broken at Vale Park.

Trying to make sure we go out at Walsall tonight by the looks of it, 10 changes inc Adam Smith suddenly appearing out of nowhere in goal, 8 academy lads in the 18 inc two 16 year olds and a 17 year old in the starting xi. We've put out stronger looking sides in the Central League.

Jake Reeves makes his return tonight after 2 years out - announced as captain, too. Great move that by the club.

It’ll feel like a new signing. Great player to have at this level.

A 4+ goal difference sees us progress, however have just seen our team on Twitter, and they've scored 4 goals between them all season...

Worryingly, we seem to be taking tonight's game quite seriously. 5 changes, but only a couple of fringe players in that 5.

1-1 at the minute! Dominated so far, went 1-0 up, then missed a pen, but then let Dale in via a deflection.

Assist from Jake Reeves and he’s rattled the bar.
