Only time we’ve travelled well to Grimsby is when we sold out on the last day of the season.

You know the one Grimsby fans, where you let off your balloons celebrating automatic promotion too early and then we equalised and Orient scored and you subsequently lost in the playoffs! Remember that?

I remember that day - we were at Mansfield winning 5-0 before then beating Grimsby in said playoffs.

Happy times...

We were embarrassingly bad in that play off final v Cheltenham, all our play that season went through Michael Reddy and when he went off injured after 10 minutes we were utter turd, thankfully our previous play off campaign went much better: :woot:

That was also the day that Orient fans were stealing Oxford kids ice creams and chucking them on the floor*, then they started pissing on the elderly Oxford folk*, then they chucked one wheelchair bound Oxford fan in the river*, then they found a pregnant woman and kneecapped her* and then went round to an orphanage and told them all that Father Christmas doesn’t exist*.

*Allegedly**

This man's sacrifice won us that final. Breaking his nose in the clash of heads with Reddy which ended up with them both going off. Armstrong's replacement, Mickey Bell, then had a pretty decent game as well.

Oddly, before that game we'd never looked remotely like ever taking a point off Grimsby.

Yeah because we’d beaten you home and away that season I was ultra confident that we’d win it, also up to that point we’d never lost in a play off, we’d won our first one in 1998 and then we’d beaten Lincoln home and away in this one so it was a real shock to be so easily beaten, when you missed the pen to go 2-0 up I thought that could be a momentum swinger but sadly for us we just carried on creating nothing.

I was in a hotel at Stockport before flying off on holiday from Manchester. Final Score on the TV, almost cried. Went to Cardiff for the Play-Off Final and again almost cried.

Been some good moments where I've almost cried too, prefer those days if I'm honest.

Last time I cried over football was England v Argentina in 1998, told myself I never would again and I haven’t although I came close against Bristol Rovers in 2015 because my lad was crying and it nearly set me off.

Any sign of the Vale following? Looked about 300 but that's a massive guess.

I would have said about 400 vale at scunthorpe but when your amongst the crowd it's hard to guess so probably better off asking a scunthorpe fan who will have a better judgement from there end. I thought we had about 400 at Bradford the other week and it was given out as 245 so I'm terrible at guessing.

Seems about right and slightly disappointed. I drove and steadily at that and it took 2 hours.
Should of been 500 easily

We've begun selling tickets for Grimsby next month. The tickets have been split into three areas, a singing section, a family section and a general section. First time I've ever seen tickets split up like that at a Scunny game
