Yep, the prospect of seeing the boy wonder in action will definitely mobilise a fair few more to make the short trip up I suspect. That plus the Cetic contingent who'll probably come out IN FORCE to see their young superstar Jack Aitchison strut his stuff for us. Could outnumber the home fans.

The other to, McCarron and Galloway both signed for Leeds to go into their development squad, neither have played any senior matches since leaving Carlisle (Galloway never even played any for Carlisle, he impressed in our pre-season friendlies and was immediately snapped up).

Ah ok they're at Leeds, interesting. At least they're a club that gives youngsters a chance, got a good development set up there apparently, all getting taught the Bielsa way. So maybe less of a waste then at most clubs where players just get lost in the system and never make it.

Leeds seem to like hoovering up a lot of the better youngsters from lower leagues as well, including Jordan Stevens from us a couple of years back, who looked a big prospect but only got in about 5 first team appearances before being snapped up. Has mainly played development games but seems to be gradually breaking into the squad and recently signed a new 3 year deal. Still think he'd have been better suited playing regular men's football before making the move, but there you go.

Yeah I mean for me it boils down to the point of being footballer is to play football. We've had loanees in the past aged 22 and 23 come from these development squads having never played senior football in their careers to date.

Can't really argue against it being the best decision for any youngster to accepts a transfer to a big team to join their academy. They money alone will more than make up for the risk of their career faltering and if they believe in themselves to make it at the top level then being in the development squad of one of the teams up there is the best way to be notice, not to mention the better quality facilities and coaching; but then the fact all those things are true are because of the huge wealth gap in football, with big clubs having the money to give young players all these opportunities all profiting at the expense of smaller clubs as well as football as a whole if you consider that talented players not playing football is bad for the game.

Almost certain we are getting Semenyo on loan from Bristol City in January. Way too good for L2, so here’s hoping.

We're interested in Aldershot midfielder Ethan Chislett. Another young technically gifted slightly lightweight midfielder out of non league, so fits the bill for our type of signing.

Just adding my two-Penneth;

Did I see an article the other day regarding Swindon loanees and you not being able to afford them permanently? Where does this leave you? Just out of interest.

Wellens does like to spin a yarn. The day before we signed Doyle he said we wouldn’t because we couldn’t afford him.

There is speculation that Doyle could have picked up a significant injury in training this week so maybe he’s the replacement. Maybe Bradford have decided to recall him in Jan. who knows.

We’ll find out Saturday when the team is announced.

Not a player, but former Yeovil Town manager Darren Way has been appointed as U18 manager.

I know he’s a Janner but it’s an interesting one.

I sincerely hope it doesn't happen but going by how he created a hugely toxic atmosphere within our club and sapped all positivity from players and staff I would be wary. He's an aggressive guy and while he was a fantastic player for us he doesn't know how to manage people and was single-handedly responsible for us dropping out of the football league.

Good job he won’t be having anything to do with the first team. He was also apparently a ST holder at Home Park before becoming your gaffer.

Reports now seem to be confirming that Vale have put in a low six figure bid for Jake Taylor to avoid losing him in January with other clubs sniffing around. No sweety jar normal nonsense now actual action!

Hope we can get it done as he’s an outstanding talent with six goals from midfield already in his first ever season in men’s football!

We’ve got Matt Jarvis training with us with a view to a contract.

He’s had so many injuries he’s played less than about 20 games in the last 4 years. Tbf, both Lyden and Isgrove were players beset with persistent injuries before we signed them and they’ve both been brilliant.

Still . . .

Is there going to be anyone left in the transfer market once Swindon have signed everyone?
Well they keep saying they are signing Bennett off us but never come up with the goods.

This is not a rumour per se, but Graham Carey who is at CSK Sophia and is on winter break posted a very unhappy message on his Instagram account. It reads like a please come and get me appeal, my family and I want to return to Blighty. Not a chance Lowe would be interested, and I suspect Carey would want to be League 1, but someone with money might come in for him.

Sounds like an agreement has been reached between Carlisle and Everton for Jarrad Branthwaite.
Rumour is we’ll get an initial 750k and a loan back for the rest of the season.

If true, whoever agreed that fee should resign. Shocking, no way should he go for a pittance like that.

Nope, no idea.

Every time he’s faced us be it for Crawley or Lincoln he’s looked dire! That said seems to have an ok record overall.

We’ve gone back in with a new improved offer for Jake Taylor which has been confirmed by Askey which should dispel the conspiracy theories after he missed yesterday with an injury with fans convinced it was Alex Jones all over again.

Hopefully get closer to their valuation and get this one done.

Saw a twitter rumour linking us with a Man City youngster Felix Nmecha

Nmecha was at Preston last year wasn't he? Surprised he's dropping down here having been on loan in the Championship.
