Sutton have just signed two loan players. What are your thoughts on having them? Have yours worked or have they been a disappointment?

Im all for them.
Stuart Lewis, Joe Pigott, Delano Sam Yorke & Reece Prestedge were all bought in on loan and played a major part in keeping us up last season....i honestly think we would of got relegated without them.

Does it really matter if a player is on loan or on contract?

Some of out loan players have been the most passionate over the years, and left a lasting impression. We had Grant Holt and Glenn Murray for short spells early on as well!

Couldn't care less if a player is on loan for a month or contracted for a season as long as they're contributing something.

All for them. Some of them don’t work out, obviously, but that no different to any other signing. Orient have benefitted from having the likes of King Kevin Campbell (who singlehandedly took us from about 17th at Christmas to the League 2 playoffs), Andros Townsend, Tom Carroll, Eldin Jakupovic and Harry Kane (whatever happened to him?).

We’ve had some good loans over the years: Terell Thomas, Rendell (later signed), Jack Marriott, Dan Holman, Billy Knott etc. Some absolute shockers too though.

I think the system is good, although got a bit ridiculous with Garry Hill’s loan roulette when he would sign about 20 loan players in the hope that we would get 1 or 2 decent players.

I'm for them also Ricky Miller was a loan signing 3 season back , came on at halftime at Telford when 1-1 he made 2 and scored one in a 4-1 win, turned our season around as we were bottom 4 then. finish 8th that season
Of course the down side is that they may get recalled .......................

As mentioned above, our loanees last season who took Maidstone from relegation to mid table, are the core of the team in a play off spot this season. A chance to try before you buy.

As mentioned on another discussion, Leyton Orient are on a downward spiral with their hastily assembled squad. If they don't want to be playing Concord, Hungerford and East Thurrock next season, the Christmas loan market beckons.
