Better. Higher tempo, more attacking, more direct, more chances created. Second half took a dip until CSKA's defence tired and then we took advantage. Far from perfect but we scored a goal and everything!

Much better tonight. We played at a much higher tempo and were a lot more direct. If we keep turning our possession into chances we'll be fine.

The biggest positives for me tonight were Carrick and Lingard. An in form Carrick is still one of our most influential players, his range of passing lets us play at a higher tempo so hopefully he kicks on from here. And Lingard is turning into a really good squad option, I much prefer him on the wing to Mata, lovely assist tonight.

Problem with Carrick is that he is completely incompatible playing alongside Schneiderlin as they try and occupy the same space and leave a huge gap between themselves and the attacking players, which means he has to sit out the big games as Schneiderlin's defensive quality and added mobilty is needed. In games like tonight though where the visitors stick 10 men behind the ball and gift United all the possession he is still an important player.
