Probably my favourite album of all time, can't wait to see them again in October!

Yeah Cards, that's a very good album and I'm not even a metal fan. Tis a pity that Gary Holt is, apparently, concentrating on playing with Slayer, as I get the impression KK will never let him compose any stuff, or even allow him to come up with an idea.

Red House Painters - absolutely monumental album, released as a double LP because Mark Kozelek had written so many songs by the time that he tried to fit them all in. This music needs multiple spins before one fully appreciates it, as on first hearing one will probably dismiss it as boring depressive music. I still remember hearing RHP's debut lp -the one before this - for the first time, and the only thing that made me want to listen to it again was only because of Mark Kozelek's voice. But after some 3 or 4 plays I got it, and RHP's music has gripped me ever since.

This album, and the other RHP efforts, will always have a special place in my heart because they got me through a very bad chapter of my life.

Unfortunately so, I doubt he'll ever give up on Exodus as it's his baby, but when Slayer come calling you can't really blame him for taking the gig. When they're both touring at the same time he must be contracted to play with slayer, he wasn't there when I saw them in March and he won't be there in October either.

He is one of the best guitarists in thrash, if Kerry King and Slayer don't want him writing stuff then that's their loss imo, especially when slayers' releases recently have been poor in comparison to their earlier stuff

Go on Bowie, even though I'm no fan, but the Foos are simply another mainstream band, barring the first one which is quite decent but there's an easy explanation for this - the songs were written by Dave while he was still in Nirvana. His latter stuff is an insult to Kurt's memory if you ask me.
