An important set of fixtures these - being the last home league game before Christmas for most of the teams;-

Barrow (1st) v Aldershot Town (19th)
Chesterfield (22nd) v Bromley (2nd)
Dagenham & Redbridge (16th) v Maidenhead United (17th)
Dover Athletic (13th) v Boreham Wood (9th)
Eastleigh (14th) v Ebbsfleet (24th)
Harrogate Town (7th) v Torquay United (10th)
Notts County (11th) v Sutton United (20th)
Stockport County (8th) v Chorley (23rd)
Woking (5th) v Hartlepool (12th)
Wrexham (21st) v Solihull Moors (3rd)
Yeovil Town (4th) v FC Halifax Town (6th)
Barnet (15th) v AFC Fyide (18th)

Arguably the biggest game of the day is Wrexham v Solihull Moors;-
Wrexham won away for the 1st time this season midweek and face high flying Solihull who have impoved recently - but who come off the back of the biggest bottle job of the season so far in the FA Cup on Monday.
Wrexham have 7 points from the 3 games against the other teams in the top 4 at home and Solihull have only won 3 of 12 away from Home. I think Wrexham could get something out of this game and possibly even win it.

Yeovil v Halifax
Yeovil have the 5th best home record and Halifax the 4th best away record, but both teams have been inconsistent lately. It has all the makings of a drawn game, but Yeovil really need 6 points from this game and Tuesday's tough (sic) game at Chesterfield if they have any aspirations to win the league.

Chesterfield v Bromley
A huge 4 days for Chesterfield with home games against Bromley and then Yeovil (Tuesday). They apparently played better away at Aldershot last week and returning centre half Gerrard even made the team of the week, but they have still slipped into the bottom 3 and they will probably need to score at least twice to have a chance of winning either game and i just can't see them doing that and keeping the Bromley or Yeovil strikers quiet. Sorry Chesterfield fans - but i can see you getting a maximum 1 point from the 2 games....

Solihull, Yeovil and Bromley all know that any points dropped could open up the gap at the top of the table as Barrow should be looking to get 3 points off Aldershot at Home.

In other games;-
Dagenham v Maidenhead is must win for both teams - or at minimum don't lose. Neither team is in great form although Maidenhead's away record is 6th best in the league and they won at Dover last time out. How much damage the mauling they took last weekend has done to their confidence is the big question.
Dover v Boreham Wood - nailed on AWAY win - Dover for some reason are way better away from home and Wood will look to frustrate them then hit them on the break.
Eastleigh v Ebbsfleet - should be a home win against the bottom team - but that is the same scenario as midweek against Wrexham and they lost that one. If Eastleigh's players are still thinking about the FA Cup Ebbsfleet's players could cause an upset here... one to avoid on your coupons.
Harrogate and Notts should get home wins, Stockport being Stockport will probably lose to Chorley after last weeks big win at Torquay. Woking v improving Hartlepool looks a tight game that's too close to call.
Oh and nobody cares what happens to Fylde at Barnet - so come on Barnet....

Might be a quiet match thread this week.

Win this and I think we're officially on our way.

We need to start backing up these solitary wins with at least another 1 or 2 to kick on and get out of this mess.

Eastleigh sounded a good performance, and as mentioned above we have done okay against the better teams at home. Hopefully we have gained some confidence and can finally string together back-to-back wins

It feels like we usually beat Aldershot and their squad seems the weakest it's been in years.

I can see Harry Panayiotou grabbing a winner (his first goal at Holker Street?).

i've applied to join the Shots forum - just so i can post that

Ive already posted it.

If Barrow don’t beat us by a cricket score they should be relegated immediately.

On another note I keep seeing on tables it's bottom 3 that go down not 4. Is this the case then?

Yeah I'm pretty sure it is. Any proper rearrangement will be done in the regionals, which makes sense.

I think he scored at Solihull away (93rd min penalty) and then the worldie away at Gateshead - so don't think he scored at home.

I'd take a point but we really need a win at some point. Hoping Yeovil being a bit off form too might just work in our favour

Would happily take a point against Halifax. We robbed Bromley in the 97th minute last week and all 3 of our fit defenders picked up cards to be suspended for tomorrow. This leaves us with having to play our left back who hasn't been fit since October and a utility midfielder at centre back in his first season as a professional. No idea who the other 2 defenders will be if replacements aren't brought in. Cameron King and co. should have a field day.

Still, with the 3 suspended back for Tuesday's visit to Saltergate I'd fancy our chances against Chesterfield.

it seams some people are getting the site blocked as a suspicious site - or at least that's what Aldershot's Forum is saying

Following negotiations with my transport manager, I can confirm that I will be attending. Autographs may be granted, for a fee (which is negotiable).
As you were. :ds:

I just wanna get the Mickey Mousers Yeovil and Wrexham out of the way so we can crack on with our 4 HUGE Christmas and New Year games. Notts County, Chesterfield and Stockport at home- if they don't bring 1000 each it'll be because the gate's been fiddled. Then Stockport away in Boxing Day...........from 21st December to 1st January, I'm shutting my eyes and pretending we never left the Football League. :woot:

Oh great, that sounds just perfect. I'd best pack some face wipes to clean off the mud when we fall face first into it. :ffs:

All the best for tomorrow. I'd doubt the away terrace will be open so you'll be shunted in the corner of the ground, which is a bit of a dampener. Should also say, no matter how many times it's mentioned online and by the club, some new away fans are still irate when they get down here to find the ground is on the outskirts of the town and is a fair trek away from the train stations and pubs. So leave a fair amount of time to spare if you want to soak up the whole 'experience'.

Dover won't win tomorrow, we have no forwards [Rigg doesn't count he never looks like getting a goal]

Mind you there is one pub ( which is alright ) very close to the ground where we use when we visit your club. Never ever have had problems with the home supporters.

Stockport being Stockport will probably lose to Chorley after last weeks big win at Torquay.
Or we'll get a tight win. Or it'll finish 4-4. Or the game'll be abandoned after Courtney Meppen-Walter goes drink driving onto the pitch and narrowly avoids killing even more people.

Making any predictions in this league is rather academic, I reckon

Failure to win tomorrow and the crowd will firmly turn on NA.
Incidentally do we have a promotion relegation and midtable thread here.

Our chairman (who is on the National League board) confirmed only 3 would go down.

Congratulations Aldershot on your victory.

Unless the National League decide that you need to be reffed out of promotion, you will get the 3 points tomorrow.

Gonna take a bit more than that. If you get an early goal or two, we will crumble. All I want from this game is to avoid a hammering. Like the team,I am not confident.

Tomorrow's ref is reportedly Joe Johnson, who is not only totally feckless and ruins every match, but seems to hate Barrow.
