Back to the "bread n butter" and the top 4 all have tricky ties, playing teams in the top half.
The leaders Bromley host 7th place Harrogate but its the visitors who are in by far better form over the last 6, winning 4. Bromley have lost 3 including defeat to Wrexham last time out.
Yeovil, who had a mare in the FA Cup this week host falling Dover who, despite still sitting in 12 place have only won once in the last 6. The Glovers who were beating everyone recently have themselves dropped into inconstant form over the last 4.
3rd place Halifax travel to 9th Woking however the Cardinals have only won once in the last 10 games last league game, 3-1 against Stockport. Halifax themselves aren't in the best of form losing 3 of the last 5

TBC My fish and chips have arrived.......
Continued

Barrow travel to Notts County which is looking to be game of the day as both sides are in top form, Barrow have only lost once in the 10, and remarkably have won every other game, the Magpies have lost just one more than the hosts but had to fight back from 2-0 down at home to improving Hartlepool last time out.

At the bottom its looking bleak for Chorley, bottom of the NL and with only 1 win so far this season. They hit the road north to Chesterfield who have clawed their way out of the bottom four and now look destined for the dizzy heights of mid table.

Ebbsfleet face Hartlepool at home, the Fleet have picked up of late winning 2 of the last 3, drawing the other. The Monkey Hangers have been playing great football recently but this must be converted into points to have any hope of pushing for the top 7. Its alright pinging the ball around, its converting the chances!

Wrexham could see themselves drop further behind as they have a week "off" as they travel to Rangers U12's in some cake trophy.

Mini Stats
Best team in the opening 15 - Yeovil, Barrow scoring 8 goals conceding 0
Worst team in the opening 15 - Barnet, Fylde -5 GD both teams
Team who likes to leave it late (goals in the last 15) Boreham Wood scored 10 concede 4
Don't go early when playing Yeovil as they have scored and conceded 10 in the last 15.
Slow starters - Notts County, chance to concede in the first 15 but then win every minute after that on G/D

Apart from getting a classic Solihoofing last week, we’re in good form and playing well. Really if we’re serious about challenging for the play offs, we have to beat Ebbsfleet as we keep losing ground. Two problems though - we’ve never scored a goal against them and whenever we seem to have a sniff of the top 7 we shit ourselves. If we don’t plan on yet another mid table nothing season, these games you have to be winning.

Feels like we need the win or else we're tailing off to mid table form.
Barrow top team in first 15, us slow for first 15 could be relevant, need to keep a clean sheet for that part by the look of things.
Feel for Chorley, the hard fought draws are turning into continual defeats and they don't have the resources to perk things up, looks to be a long dark winter coming for them.

We’ve struggled a bit in what felt like were the ‘bigger’ games this season, so Saturday is a good test. Win that and I’ll start to believe.

Do Barrow still have a lot of injuries?

PS nice preview LEP - but you do know Chorley is north of Chesterfield??

Yes, I think this is where injuries catch up with us. We'll almost certainly be missing three key defenders and our midfield enforcer, so I think we'll be vulnerable at the back. The two weeks off don't really seem to have helped us much in that regard but we were looking very tired against Sutton last time out.

A draw would be a good result for us, but I don't see us deviating from our attacking football. That stat about us scoring in the first 15 is interesting, as I bet we are among the worst for conceding just after half-time.

That is a disturbing fact, recall fat lad in goal having a blinder out our place one season, think we'll get goals Saturday, like you say, despite an uptick in form for them we have to go teams struggling and pick up all three or we're just gonna continue to be also rans.

I once caught my bro eating haddock, chips and mushy peas with a knife and fork in the living room. Then again, he does vote Lib Dem.

Expect a Yeovil win.
Quite a few injuries still. Sotiriou/Modeste playing for their country. Reason banned.

We are drawing at home to Stockport. Low scoring affair, lots of laboured possession football from us on the half way line but no cutting edge. Stockport goal will come from a set piece.

Probably.

A couple of weeks ago i'd have been confident of 3 points but there's something not right at the moment. Apart from anything we have one of our main CBs suspended and we've signed a loan keeper today because we only have one fit goalie. If the new giy plays he'll be our 6th of the season. Wouldn't be surprised with a draw.

Speaking of Fish and Chips, it all kicked off when Look Out There Are Llamas noticed a guy eating his in the stands with a knife and fork.

Enjoyed reading through that. Is it too much to ask for this week's thread to descend into 15 pages of gloriously bad fish puns?

(Rather than the usual s*** canal that is a certain fan of Halifax attempting to wind everyone else up and the fans of whoever's just lost to Solihull complaining it shouldn't count as they don't play like Barcelona)
